isaidno Posted 26 July 2010 Posted 26 July 2010 Ferrari should lose their constructors points for the German GP ,
Narborough_fox Posted 26 July 2010 Posted 26 July 2010 I don't know what to think of this as Ferrari were undoubtedly going to get a 1-2 with or without Alonso passing Massa, however what they did was wrong and should be punished severely and not just a $100,000 fine which for Ferrari is nothing. I hope the F.I.A make a ruling on what punishment a team would get if this would to happen once more.
Asha Posted 26 July 2010 Author Posted 26 July 2010 Ferrari should lose their constructors points for the German GP , Yeah, that would be a decent punishment. £100,000 is obviously inadequate as a sanction, and stripping the drivers of their points would be unfair on them when it was the Ferrari's decision.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 26 July 2010 Posted 26 July 2010 A $100,000 fine. I'm sure this will leave Ferrari with a huge dent in its wallet. Ok, so there's been a fair amount of contentious issues this season, Schumacher's opportunistic move springs to mind, but yet this miniscule fine for arguably the worst of all offences is brushed under the carpet with little more than a slapped wrist. It won't be enough to wipe the smug grin off Alonso's face. Oh, if the boot was on the other foot Alonso, you would be kicking and screaming and throwing the dummy out of the pram all week long as you make your way to Hungary. People shouldn't jump on this fine too quickly. As I understand, this was impossed by the Stewards and it was maximum fine they could levy. They've sensibly referred it to the FIA who have a big decision to make here. And maybe, just maybe, having an ex Ferrari man at the helm is a bad thing for Ferrari. This will be Jean Todt's first big decision in my mind and if he is anything of his own man he is surely going to want to ensure that the punishment he serves is deemed fit to the crime meaning he would have to go beond the middle ground on this one. Or maybe it will be all chummy, a slap on the botty and straight to bed with no tea but all forgotten about in the morning. What I would find most amusing is if the FIA reverse the result back to a Massa win, but that would never stand!

He was really struggling with the hard tyres and who knows if Vettel wouldn't have gone on and nailed both of them amidst traffic or something?
dandannieldanok Posted 27 July 2010 Posted 27 July 2010 Disappointing from Ferrari,, they were having such a good weekend and were gaining a lot of respect for how they've brushed off the disappointments of previous weeks and upped their game so dramatically..........and then team orders came into play. <_< Feel sorry for Massa, and in particular his race engineer who quite clearly did not want to deliver the instruction. Whoever made the decision should have had the balls to tell Massa themselves.
Uncle Monty Posted 27 July 2010 Posted 27 July 2010 Bloody shite result and what a cock up by ferrari,

Whoever made the decision should have had the balls to tell Massa themselves. Ah, had someone else come on the radio, it would then have been completely obvious team orders where being made. Not saying it wasn't obvious anyway, but they at least had to try and keep it a secret (EPIC FAIL!). I guess there's a couple of things in this; 1.) Had it been the other way around, I can't for the life of me think there would be as much disgust. Alonso has not helped his image of late and i think this adds to the displeasure in what has happened 2.) Team orders is a bad termanology for this as what people are against is contriving a result. Telling your guy to go easy on the brakes or engine or not to hit each other is equally team orders its just not in a bad way. 3.) I watched the Sterling Moss / Richard Hammond thing yesterday. I wonder if Massa is suffering as he has to think more now, his actions are not automonus? (If you haven't seen this, iplayer!) The affair though cannot of helped his recovery and mental state. Ferrari may 4.) And going on from this, if it does affect Massa and his future performances this season, it could have an adverse effect on Alonso's title chances as he needs Massa to help bring a Ferrari wedge between him and the other contenders. 7 points gained now may mean more points lost further down the line, but this is so hypothetical we would never know on this front. 5.) There are other examples of this type of thing happening in sport - Cycling and the Tour De France is the most obvious one, but even in football (eg Drogba being allowed to take a penalty to help win the golden boot) (Tonight I have been mostly posting numbered lists)
isaidno Posted 28 July 2010 Posted 28 July 2010 Renault committed a far worse crime in Singapore in 2008.
Suffolk_fox Posted 1 August 2010 Posted 1 August 2010 What a great pit stop! You mean the Ferrari? Double stop, fantastic! That loose tyre could have caused some damage though! Jeez!!
dandannieldanok Posted 1 August 2010 Posted 1 August 2010 Anyone see Schumacher almost put Barrichello into the wall? Horrible driving from Schumacher, should be banned for at least a race, he could have caused serious injury. At first I thought his misdemeanour's this season were actually quite humorous and entertaining, now it's just downright dangerous.
isaidno Posted 1 August 2010 Posted 1 August 2010 Schumacher's move on Rubens was disgraceful , could have seriously hurt Rubens and the mechanics in the pitlane.
isaidno Posted 1 August 2010 Posted 1 August 2010 Michael Schumacher will lose ten places on the starting grid for the Belgian Grand Prix after being penalised for his driving in Hungary. The German and Williams driver Rubens Barrichello came very close to crashing after Schumacher pushed the Brazilian against the wall on the main straight as the Brazilian attempted to pass. The move angered Barrichello, who slammed Schumacher's move as 'crazy' after the race.Schumacher himself said he had done nothing wrong. The FIA stewards penalised the seven-time champion as he had "illegitimately impeded car 9 during an overtaking manoeuvre."The Mercedes driver will lose ten places on the grid in the next race in Belgium.
lildave3 Posted 1 August 2010 Posted 1 August 2010 Don't see the problem, good old fashioned PS2 driving that was. All he had to do was drive straight across the grass at the next corner and he would have romped home to glory.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 1 August 2010 Posted 1 August 2010 4.) What do people reckon - if Massa had won last week, would he have been in more of a mood to stop Vittel getting third so easily? Ferrari missed a trick there as well, they surely would have noticed Webber stay out and thought that could be a decent move for one of their cars?

isaidno Posted 27 August 2010 Posted 27 August 2010 Just put money on Sutil getting pole at 25/1 . It's been raining in Belguim . Got Webber for the win
isaidno Posted 29 August 2010 Posted 29 August 2010 Fantastic race , looking like a 2 horse race for the title now. Vettel needs to learn how to control his aggressiveness, probably cost himself and Button a chance of the title.
dandannieldanok Posted 29 August 2010 Posted 29 August 2010 Yea gotta love Spa, always throws up some interesting racing every year. Hamilton was almost flawless, looked in great form all weekend.
acooling08 Posted 29 August 2010 Posted 29 August 2010 I hate how wellit all worked out for Webber. He had a crap race but got 2nd
Ultra Posted 29 August 2010 Posted 29 August 2010 Fantastic race , looking like a 2 horse race for the title now. Vettel needs to learn how to control his aggressiveness, probably cost himself and Button a chance of the title. Vettel was reckless all through the race - but that's what you get when you have Schuey as a role model..

isaidno Posted 8 September 2010 Posted 8 September 2010 Ferrari let off in the team orders row. I this was Mclaren they would have been banned. FIA , Ferrari International Assistance
Asha Posted 8 September 2010 Author Posted 8 September 2010 Ferrari let off in the team orders row. I this was Mclaren they would have been banned. FIA , Ferrari International Assistance Behave. Any punishment would have only involved a fine anyway, realistically. Ferrari have shot themselves in the foot doing what they did anyway, 'cause Felipe's motivation clearly plummeted following that. And it's not like McLaren have never used team orders to fix a race result either, Melbourne 1998? Oh, and in terms of the calendar, 20 races is bordering on ridiculous now.
