isaidno Posted 18 April 2010 Posted 18 April 2010 Fantastic 4th place for Alonso - having stopped 5 times. Was as blatant a jump start as you'll ever see No chance of getting away with that one. Thought it was lucky he only got given a drive through penalty rather than a stop and go, allowed him to stay in contention. Expect to see Hamilton and Button bumped back 5 places on the grid at Catalunya for their own illegal conduct. Hamilton & Vettel reprimanded for the pitlane incicdent , no penalties
Sparky Posted 18 April 2010 Posted 18 April 2010 Superb drive from Button, he is certainly answering a few questions this season. Cant fault Lewis either, his aggressive overtaking is pleasing on the eye. Thought Alonsos move on Massa in the pit entrance was a tad Harsh, hope Felipe does the same to him before long !!

Alonso would be winning the championship had it not been for Massa's reluctance to overtake at times when a quicker Alonso is up behind him.
Nick Posted 18 April 2010 Posted 18 April 2010 No, not at all. I fully understood that. I'm referring to separate incidents. Hamilton's being when his team released him more or less on top of Vettel, which could have created a very dangerous situation had they made contact. And Button slowing the field down under the safety car to virtually a stop at the hairpin meaning those behind were really struggling to avoid crashing as they were all packed in the same part of the corner. Ah I see, I think they'll both get away with that Hamilton says wheel spin and I reckon Button will blame pace of safety car acceleration at the hair pin I would guess!

Brainy Posted 18 April 2010 Posted 18 April 2010 Hamilton was throwing his toys out of the pram as he was told to hold back and not go after Button what? You're definitely part of the anti-Hamilton bandwagon then as I can't remember hearing such thing, and even if he was told to back off he didn't look too angry after the race. Only thing Hamilton is guilty of is not accepting Vettel was infront (in the pitlane) and just slotting back in behind him. Vettel was bang out of order for nudging him towards the pit boxes. It would surely be a breach of safety rules so if Hamilton got penalised i'd be a bit pissed if Vettel didn't either. Surprised nothing was made out of the restart when Hamilton nudged Webber wide. I think it definitely is now Team Britain 2-1 Ferrari
Brainy Posted 18 April 2010 Posted 18 April 2010 I hear Felipe on his way out to be replaced by Kubica, can you see Massa getting another top drive ? @NSLL no he bloody wouldn't. If everything had gone perfect and straight forward then Vettel would have 100/100 points by now. Massa is kinda reminding me of how he was in '07.. which was pretty average. He has the quality to drive for a top team if there are any seats available, maybe at Mercedes if Schumacher drops out or maybe to Renault as a straight swap for Kubica.
Asha Posted 19 April 2010 Author Posted 19 April 2010 I believe Massa hasn't fully recovered psychologically from several setbacks. Firstly, being robbed of the championship on the final corner of the final race purely because a certain Mr Glock thought he'd have his own say on who would win the title. And secondly, suffering a serious injury at Hungary last year. I love him, I really do, but I think to be in a Ferrari you've got to be giving it everything and be fully committed. I hate to say it, but I do think Massa is almost holding Ferrari back at the moment, and hopefully he can pick his performances up. If Massa was 'politely moved aside', then I'd love to see Kubica in the seat. He's a fantastic driver and someone who I believe can get himself a championship or three in a decent car.

Asha Posted 20 April 2010 Author Posted 20 April 2010 NSLL you sound like a bitter cvnt. You've got me all wrong sunshine. But seriously, Hamilton wouldn't have had a chance had Glock not decided to let him through. It's the equivalent of the premier league race going the final day, and with Chelsea needing a last minute goal to win the title, a Wigan player deliberately scores an own goal because he's a closet Chelsea fan/hates Man Utd or whatever. Of course, none of the Hamilton groupies would see it this way, but how is it any different?
Tony Pine Posted 20 April 2010 Posted 20 April 2010 i know he wouldn't but i'm glad glock did hamilton groupies? you mean british people?
Asha Posted 20 April 2010 Author Posted 20 April 2010 I take it from your failure to address my question of 'how it's any different' that you recognise I'd have reason to feel annoyed?
Tony Pine Posted 20 April 2010 Posted 20 April 2010 no i skipped over it as soon as i read 'it's the equivalent' as i knew it would be another stupid analogy; the likes of which i seem to encounter regularly on the internet. it's not the equivalent of anything.
Brainy Posted 20 April 2010 Posted 20 April 2010 Really didn't expect this from you Nussul. You really do sound bitter. I can understand your annoyance but thats no reason to show total bias. Glock was on dry tyres on a wet track, his tyres were presumably worn, and with the different elevations of the track in Brazil it would have been a massive struggle to stay on track, let alone fight for your position. If he had chosen to go on the right tyres, he'd have been behind Hamilton anyway so none of this would even be discussed. And from what I remember Massa was more blatantly 'let through' by his teammate in China, the penultimate race that season having been dominated throughout all sessions. Can't believe that that has to be explained to you.
isaidno Posted 7 May 2010 Posted 7 May 2010 I expect this race to be a boring procession, The Spanish Gp is always dull. Red Bull will blitz everyone this weekend
Legend_in_blue Posted 8 May 2010 Posted 8 May 2010 I think the fireworks are likely to start to come to light tomorrow. Mercedes and Schumacher are looking much better.
isaidno Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 Red Bull could lap everyone if they continue with this pace
Brainy Posted 10 May 2010 Posted 10 May 2010 Ferrari just making up the numbers at this moment of time.
isaidno Posted 10 May 2010 Posted 10 May 2010 Red Bull will win easy on the fast tracks such as Turkey, Silverstone & Monza . It will be more even on the street circuits and Monaco and Canada are coming up in the next 3 races.
Asha Posted 10 May 2010 Author Posted 10 May 2010 I really hate Monaco as a circuit, always produces an appalling race. Especially without refuelling, turn 1 of the first lap will be the only time where anything happens.
