fatmando Posted 14 February 2010 Posted 14 February 2010 Laddies going with Alonso, Hamilton then Schumacher as faves. Vettel 6-1! I don't think Red Bull will be up there again this year. Go go fernando!

hairy Posted 18 February 2010 Posted 18 February 2010 Schumacher ahead of Massa?Behave. I think that more reflects where the money might be placed rather than the chances of him winning
Asha Posted 18 February 2010 Author Posted 18 February 2010 I think that more reflects where the money might be placed rather than the chances of him winning I'd definitely agree with you there. Schumacher might pick up the odd win, but he's not going to be a consistent title challenger.
Alexikokopops Posted 18 February 2010 Posted 18 February 2010 What a crock of shit that is. Why don't they leave the decent tracks like Silverstone alone and piss about with the nondescript tracks like Bahrain and Sepang that nobody cares about if the sport's bosses are bored. But weren't the changes done by the people in charge of Silverstone? They were just looking for approval from the sports bosses, it wasn't the sports bosses that asked for the change. That's how I read it.
dandannieldanok Posted 18 February 2010 Posted 18 February 2010 But weren't the changes done by the people in charge of Silverstone? They were just looking for approval from the sports bosses, it wasn't the sports bosses that asked for the change. That's how I read it. I think you're right on 2nd read. But if you look deeper into it, in my opinion, they've been forced to try and freshen things up to simply keep the British GP at Silverstone because the vultures at the top of the sport are pretty much selling out to the highest bidder for races. So in a way although the sports bosses have not said changes need to be made or anything, their wish to find a more financially viable venue than Silverstone has forced these modernising changes through. That's my interpretation anyway.

I guess it was taken away to force overtaking and to stop having the 'void' parts in a race when some have stopped, some haven't and you haven't a clue where people are in the race. And I was thinking - Bernie wanted winning the race to matter. Well why doesn't he adopt the 1 point for each lap someone is in the lead points system like in IndyCar ot the like as well as points for the final finishing position? That would make people go for it and no doubt bring in some really interesting tactical battles.
Ford Super Sunday Posted 4 March 2010 Posted 4 March 2010 I beg that F1 gives the BBC a HD feed either before the start of the season or at some point during the season Pleeeeeeease!

Ford Super Sunday Posted 4 March 2010 Posted 4 March 2010 USF1 Out.http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12433_6002000,00.html Disappointed that Stefan wont get the vacated slot, they seemed to have a good car (which i'm told was basically what would have been this years Toyota, and an ex-champ in their seat. They may have been bloody awful, but it would have been interested. 2011 apparantly. Very annoying. Bernie corp. dragging his heals. They're already recording races in HD, and yet they wont release it to broadcatsers in HD, which is pretty baffling, especially when F1 can be classed as a 'television' sport. C'mon Bernie!

Wycombe Fox Posted 9 March 2010 Posted 9 March 2010 Can't wait for this season to start! First practice on Friday at 7.00am our time on BBC Online. I'm having a fiver on Button for the title. Might look for a punt on Kobayashi as well. He looked very exciting in his few races last season when he replaced Timo Glock. A decent bet with Paddy Power for Sunday's race is on the number of cars that don't complete the first lap. With so many new teams and drivers making their debuts, their over-exuberance might lead to a first corner prang. 7/1 for three or more cars out on the first lap.
isaidno Posted 9 March 2010 Posted 9 March 2010 Really looking forward to this season. 4 world champions, 11 race winning drivers , biggest grid in decades. I've got Webber to win the title at 14/1 . My bet for this weekend is Pedro De La Rosa to get on the podium at 18/1.
Brainy Posted 9 March 2010 Posted 9 March 2010 Looking forward to the season, would have been very good if Raikkonen had stayed and Stefan GP made the grid, with Villeneuve as part of their team there'd have been 6 world champions on the grid. I think the Ferrari's will have the edge over the rest in Bahrain, Red Bull will continue to have it's reliablity problems and McLaren will probably take 2nd and 3rd. Very excited to seeing whether Schumacher can perform from the start, also looking forward to seeing Rosberg in a top car, Williams having a very promising driver line up and hopefully the Renault can be competitive. Sauber will be an interesting one, relatively fast car with one driver experienced and the other seemingly an exciting talent. Will be pleasing to see Force India consistently in the points this year as I reckon they will, Liuzzi is quite underrated and Sutil is competitive on a good day. As for the new teams, uhoh. Think they'll be well off the pace, retirement prone and not to mention half the drivers will be making their debuts. Lotus probably have the best chance as they're in safe hands with Trulli and Kovalainen. Goodluck to them and all that but I can't see either of them scoring a point. Pissed that the opener isn't in Australia, pretty cool staying up til' some silly time in the morning for qualifying and the race. Should still hopefully be a decent first race as all first races tend to be.
Alexikokopops Posted 10 March 2010 Posted 10 March 2010 I haven't been this excited about F1 in a while.
Wycombe Fox Posted 12 March 2010 Posted 12 March 2010 After the first two practice sessions, Button's nicely placed given the way he drives. Tyre degradation will play a big part in Sunday's race. I thought the Ferrari's would be better placed - maybe their car isn't as good as the testing sessions suggested. Should be a good race. Can't wait for qualifying tomorrow when they're all out with a teaspoon of fuel. Again the tyres have a big part to play. The fastest 10 have to start the race on the tyres with which they set their fastest time (as opposed to the tyres they had on when they finished qualifying) whereas 11th and lower can choose any tyre.
Wycombe Fox Posted 12 March 2010 Posted 12 March 2010 HRT 11.5 seconds slower BBC Online described them as a mobility scooter!
