ian_marshall Posted 23 January 2010 Posted 23 January 2010 Seems like the wheels are coming off the Pearson promotion push. What a bad week. Firstly, we sign another OAP past his best, then we give one of our best young prospects away for next to nothing, and finally we throw away a 2-1 lead with less than 20 minutes to go against an avrage championship side. Sorry Mr Pearson but things have to improve soon because our recent performances have not been good enough.

Webbo Posted 23 January 2010 Posted 23 January 2010 Is there any way we can ban people, other than mods, from making threads within an hour of the final whistle?
ian_marshall Posted 23 January 2010 Author Posted 23 January 2010 Pearson out! I wouldn't go that far, but it'll only be a matter of time before people do look elsewhere. In all honesty I do think that he's going to need to shake things up soon if the team continues with it's poor form.
ian_marshall Posted 23 January 2010 Author Posted 23 January 2010 Is there any way we can ban people, other than mods, from making threads within an hour of the final whistle? Think that's a bit harsh to be honest. People are entitled to an opinion and given our recent form and lack of ambition shown in the transfer market I think such views are justified. Surely no one can deny that performances of late have not been up to scratch. Every game we seem to make the same mistakes and fail to learn from them.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 23 January 2010 Posted 23 January 2010 Ugh. I really hate this forum sometimes when bellend's like you call for the manager to be sacked. Be a real fan and get behind the side and Manager!!

There have been 3 doom and gloom threads started since the final whistle and there is nothing in any of them that couldn't have been said in the post match thread.

Some people take into account where we have come from and what we have been like the last 5/6 years before rounding on the team and manager. There is constructive critisism and there is turning on the manager and being one step from calling for his head after a few bad results, which is exactly what your post was. As for Cardiff being an average championship team, what the hell do you think we are? You obviously got carried away earlier in the season being near the top of the league. I suggest perhaps you try not getting too carried away during good spells and then take the same attitude into bad spells (that every team has).

There are plenty of ****** about with attitudes like this particular thread starter, completely clueless.
Babylon Posted 23 January 2010 Posted 23 January 2010 Cardiff are an average Championship side? Where as we on the other hand are a mid table premier league side, playing in europe and winning cups, we should be beating teams away like them.... oh no hang on that was over a decade ago. We are actually an ex league one side who have been punching above where other teams have been at this stage of their development.

Be a real fan and get behind the side and Manager!! If you read my previous posts you'd clearly see that I did not once suggest that Pearson should be sacked. I'm clearly suggesting that he needs to change the current first eleven asthe boys are not pulling their weight and appear to have become rather complacent of late.

A bad week, i wouldn't call it a bad week, we signed a class veteran player, not an OAP. You seem to be questioning Pearsons managerial ability. Waghorn for Fryatt. Kermorgant for Howard. And where was King?? Your one of these armchair fans.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, it's just it gets quite tiring having to read the over reactions that some people leap to after listening to a description of a match on the radio from two men who couldn't even agree on how to pronounce the word Bothroyd. (Stringer and Sinclair) We have a 'lack of ambition' in the transfer market because we don't have any significant money to spend. There isn't some Scrooge McDuck style pool of tenners at the Walkers which Pearson and Mandaric bathe in whilst streams of high quality ball playing tough tackling left backs walk past outside.

I suggest perhaps you try not getting too carried away during good spells and then take the same attitude into bad spells (that every team has). Firstly, if you you could highlight where exactly in my post I said that Pearson should be sacked I'd be extremely greatful. I am a big fan of Pearson's and certainly would not wish to see him go. Secondly, most people would agree that outside the top 3 who are currently challenging for automatic positions, anyone from 4th place right down to 18th place could easily finish in the top 6 at the end of the season given a good run of form. Therefore the vast majority of the teams in the Championship could be deemed average. Seeing as there is very little between teams such as Leicester and Cardiff I feel that it is totally unacceptable to concede 2 injury time goals (1 is bad enough). Admittedly we are no better than Cardiff or for that matter anyone else currently around us, but we should be able to see games out given the players we have.
Finnegan Posted 23 January 2010 Posted 23 January 2010 If Cardiff are an average Championship side then I'd fucking hate to have to play a good one every week without our top scorer in the side and a weakened back four.
orangecity23 Posted 23 January 2010 Posted 23 January 2010 It's the cup. Weird things happen. Would you rather that we just sat back and defended when we let in a stoppage time goal, or charge forward in the hope of getting an equaliser, even if it means we are at risk at the back? Think about that Carling Cup game midweek. Do you think O'Neill is bricking it because his defence leaked four goals to a 10 man team? No. Cup games do no reflect on league form, and Cup games almost always have more goals and are more open.

I appreciate what you are implying about those who pass judgement on the overly biased RL coverage, but as someone who watched the game today and who is a season ticket holder, I do think that my opinion is valid.

Finnegan Posted 23 January 2010 Posted 23 January 2010 Waaaah, waaaah, waaaaaah, someone took the piss because I don't go to every game. I go to more games than you! Shut up, you listened to the Radio Commentary you're not a proper fan! WELL MY DAD'S BIGGER THAN YOUR DAD. Jesus. I'm full of hate today. It doesn't take attendance at every match and it certainly doesn't take a genius to work out we're over-performing in the league by most people's expectations. A vast majority of people have the common sense to see that Pearson, as a new manager on a shoestring budget, has done fantastically well so far. The football might not always be spectacular but it's been effective in terms of league position. Most people with a brain on here said anything about 15th and they'd be happy at the start of the year, lord almighty. I've sat behind some right thick-twat season ticket holders at the Walkers who couldn't tell a good show from a bad one and I've heard some thoroughly insightful and thoughtful comments from people who've only seen two or three games all year. Stick the elitism on a rod and screw it up your arse, you aren't a genius because you hold a season ticket.

Sorry Mr Pearson but things have to improve soon because our recent performances have not been good enough. I dont really give a fig for the FA Cup this season its all about the league. Most of the season so far results have been camouflaging the issue that we dont look or play like a top 6 championship side, because we simply dont have the quality in the side. We need to buy some quality, and there is no other way round it. Pearson carn't make a Silk purse out of a Pig ear, until MM opens the purse strings its gonna stay like this. We are going nowhere this season with the current squad as its already over achieved. <_<
