purpleronnie Posted 27 January 2010 Posted 27 January 2010 I can't believe anyone thinks we overachieved with the team we have.
MrSpaM Posted 27 January 2010 Posted 27 January 2010 Overachieved. But at the end of the day if we stay up this season, we'll have a very good squad next season as long as we don't lose our best players, and we buy Waghorn. The players we have, have been so chopped and changed, it's not good for any squad, but at least we'll know where we are come the end of the season, and we'll have a proper go after the summer.
Sylvie85 Posted 27 January 2010 Posted 27 January 2010 Overachieved from my predictions at the start of the season if someone had offered me this position at this time of the season at the start of the season i would have taken it. I think it's a difficult situation now though, after walking league 1 and getting used to winning games it does feel odd to have lost three on the bounce. It just proves what everyone says in this league anyone can beat anyone. For me it's now a case of trying to gain as many points as we can till the end of the season ( stating the obvious i know!!), if we are in the mix at the start of april i will be delighted. Just hope that Pearson doesn't become a victim of his own success, if we had started badly and then gained 30+ points in the second half of the season everyone would think it was a great job well done.
Ozwin Posted 27 January 2010 Posted 27 January 2010 As the old saying goes; 'The table never lies' Where we finish at the end of the season we'll deserve to be there.
Salieri Posted 27 January 2010 Posted 27 January 2010 put it this way , if we were a horse in the Grand National in this position, and jumping beechers for the 2nd time ,, i wouldn't be throwing my betting slip away just yet Cracking analogy.
jonthefox Posted 27 January 2010 Posted 27 January 2010 I cant believe that 8 out 77 voters said were underachieving. Anything other than a relegation scrap was a bonus to us, we all agreed that.So chill ya beans folks..win our game in hand and were back in the play offs. Happy chuffin days indeed.

Only time will tell.
jonthefox Posted 27 January 2010 Posted 27 January 2010 Who's going to stay the course and who will fall at the last then? Only time will tell. Please, please PLEASE let it be forest.
Guest Bilo Posted 27 January 2010 Posted 27 January 2010 Please, please PLEASE let it be forest. Would love them to be sent to the glue factory.
gosfox Posted 27 January 2010 Posted 27 January 2010 I am joining the achieved camp also.....Though if it was said at the start of the season that we would be in the top eight by this stage I think i would have snapped your hand off, so to speak..... it just seems a little disappointing that we seem to be slipping now after we had such a good start
Vacamion Posted 27 January 2010 Posted 27 January 2010 Re: Grand National analogy. The vets just erected a tent around Crystal Palace and if you listen carefully, you can hear gunshot...
lou Posted 27 January 2010 Posted 27 January 2010 Barring the odd game like QPR away we havent actually played that well all season and I think were in a bit of a false position really.... I will be happy with a top half finish still but my only aim before this season started was to stay up. So, overacheived
