Travel to work

That's a shame, but I can't say I blame you. 4 hours of travelling every day would be far from fun. :/

I accepted another one, so it's not all bad news!

I dont know how people can travel so far for work but if it's a decent job then it must be worth it for some people. I couldnt do it, but then I get way too tired at work to be driving for that long afterwards.

I have always had a job that involved a fairly dull commute. Leicester to Kettering - 1hour. Leicester to Derby - 1 hour+ depending on traffic.

Started working for the family again at beginning of February (all planned...) and now I have a 3 minute drive door to door. (For those Friends of the Planet types, I drive as I used the car during the day to visit clients). It as made a massive difference to my motivation, attitude and quality of home life. Having time to get ready in the morning and have breakfast, getting home at a decent hour rather than gone 8pm means less earache when you get home.

Obviously, you have turned down the job now, and deffo the right choice. I'd never do more than a 30 min trip again...

My ten minute drive is about to be replaced with a 20 mile cross-country stomp on the bike.

Fine in summer - hell when the snow and ice comes. I'll be needing a second car.

Are you on about your motorbike? Or pushbike?

I start a new job on Monday in Westminster, probably going to take me just over and hour an door to door every day. I am not looking forward to it. Still, train paid for.
