purpleronnie Posted 16 February 2010 Posted 16 February 2010 I think the city centre looks brill now, I hadn't been to the city centre for a few years and I was shocked to see how nice it is now. I think leicester is pretty nice, not the best but definately not the worst (pretty much say that about every city though ). I think leicestershire as a county is beautiful, stunning countryside, historical little towns, and its pretty easy to get to everywhere else too.
Steven Posted 16 February 2010 Posted 16 February 2010 Absolute pile of crap. Seriously as someone who comes from London/Surrey it is no better or worse than many areas in both of those places. One of the worst aspects of the City are those people who like to run it down.

Trav Le Bleu Posted 16 February 2010 Posted 16 February 2010 Leicester's fine - nothing amazingly special, but I recently went to Gloucester with the idea it might be a nice day out in an historic city... now there's a crap city! No football of any decent standard for starters! Anyone bitching about Leicester:Birmingham FTW. Yeah, For The Weird
Webbo Posted 16 February 2010 Posted 16 February 2010 Avoid Syston.Scares me that place. That's the idea Thrummie.
Simi Posted 16 February 2010 Posted 16 February 2010 Avoid Syston.Scares me that place. The bait is there, but I'll leave it dangling! Me too mate. It's such a dump. Full of 12 year old Wreake Valley chav's and tarts.Thurmastons alright, Where I'm from (Rearsby) is alright, quiet village where the worst thing that happens is when grit bins get turned over by kids. Zing. Rearsby is alright if you've got no mates I suppose. That's the idea Thrummie.
Simi Posted 16 February 2010 Posted 16 February 2010 Syston will always be in our shadow. Just because some of it is on a big hill!
Lillehamring Posted 16 February 2010 Posted 16 February 2010 Even more predictable. um, which reply is in itself predictable... what a bizarre act of self-declared hypocrisy
Lillehamring Posted 16 February 2010 Posted 16 February 2010 Too right mate, Jesus lives next door Why did you leave England in the first place pal. You got family in Norway or something? same reason most people do... i couldn't wait to leave, so when i met a norwegian women when i lived in london, it was a no-brainer... ...as it turns out, it was the best thing that could ever have happened to me...it's impossible to know how bad or good a place is until you live somewhere else. leicester has its problems and i often feel threatened by the aggressiveness of people there, but i've lived in wood green and mile end, so i wouldn't class it as rough... as i said, it's very average in many respects.

It depends on what you want out of a city, every city in the world will have its problems. I've lived in many countries and Leicester is definately one of the safest places that I've lived in. I don't understand why so many people cant wait to leave, unless its the weather.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 17 February 2010 Posted 17 February 2010 It's not shit, by a long way, but obviously areas need work. Not shit at all.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 17 February 2010 Posted 17 February 2010 The bait is there, but I'll leave it dangling!Zing. Rearsby is alright if you've got no mates I suppose. It's a tad boring. Wasted a million pounds they did on a new village hall, instead of my idea of a Astroturfed football cage. Bastards. You know Rearsby well Ched?
Budweiser Posted 17 February 2010 Posted 17 February 2010 Anywhere that close to Snibston Discovery Park has to be an absolute winner of a town. With regards to Leicestershire, I'd avoid Little Bowden aka "The Bermondsey of Harborough". !!!!
