Dan Posted 7 March 2010 Posted 7 March 2010 I'd agree woth dropping Oakley, he has had one awful season in my opinion. I don't think Brown or Dyer deserve dropping, people forget so quickly how good those two have been lately, and to be honest I thought Dyer was decent today. King doesn't offer enough, he went missing yet again today, his plus side is that he doesn't waste the ball, I'd have him above Oakley.
liamherbertlcfc Posted 7 March 2010 Posted 7 March 2010 1 loss in 9 ... we dont deserve to be in the play offs!
Guest ttfn Posted 7 March 2010 Posted 7 March 2010 1 loss in 9 ... we dont deserve to be in the play offs! But 4 wins in 12...
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 7 March 2010 Posted 7 March 2010 But 4 wins in 12... And no wins in 1 now. PEARSON OUT!!
ta-fc Posted 7 March 2010 Posted 7 March 2010 My theory is that: You win your home games draw your away games = going up in the top two. Win the majority of your home games draw the bulk of the away games = play-offs. Win more that you lose = stay up. Be honest with yourself at the start of the season where would you have been satisfied? Personally I think Brown is shit... way too slow, sunday football distribution, but who do you re-place him with? Take Morrison out of full-back you've got that clown Neilson or Mcgiven at full back!!!! Lest we forget last week we hammered the trees 3-0. Lifes not all bad!!!
Fosse Boy Posted 7 March 2010 Posted 7 March 2010 Ive just got back from todays game and i have to say that was one of the worst performances ive seen from city in a long long time... Drop Brown! Drop Oakley! Drop King! Drop Dyer! All rubbish today and for me havent been impressed for the last few weeks ! Especially Oakley , he brings nothing to the team, loses the ball ALOT and isnt the best going forawrd or defensivly! Give Nguessen and adams a chance !! Brown was also VERY poor and fustrating, he thinks he can ping a ball like becks! but he CANT ! Very poor ditribution today and also crap defensively! For me defo drop Brown and Oakley !! Rant over! Cardiff 3 points please :fishing: :fishing: :fishing: :fishing: :fishing:
i'm leicester til i die Posted 7 March 2010 Posted 7 March 2010 We can't win every game BUT If we're to finish in the play offs we've got to get results at out of form shit teams at the bottom of the table. Make no mistake at the start of the season I would have taken top 12 but expectations have been raised. I don't think it's unacceptable for people to be upset at a meek defeat given recent results.... can i remind you that we were the shit team at the bottom of the table a few years ago. You cannot expect a win against somebody that is at the root of the table. The bottom clubs always put up a better team when they play against higher teams. You cannot expect City to win against Wednesday because of the position they are in the league. it doesnt work like that! it is a team's performance and up to the team to get a result. Look at Cardiff for example, 4 0 up at half time at Peterborough, and they managed to get a 4 4 draw by the end, and Newcastle were losing at one point when they played Wednesday, so do not expect a win every single match... it will not happen Do not drop any of the players. Wayne Brown has kept us in shape over recent weeks (especially against Forest) and he has one bad game, and he is public enemy NO1. Gallagher has been outstanding this season, and received Championship player of the month, so why should he be dropped?

marbelladave Posted 7 March 2010 Posted 7 March 2010 Greatings from India!.... We (me and Mrs marbella) have been in India for more than a week, (Bombay now Goa) arrived to discover that we stuffed Forest and got stuffed in return by Wednesday, better than the other way round! Still, in this part of the world nothing exists other than the Premier League, getting Championsip scores is impossible and the internet is dead slow and charges by the minute! Even worse today is a 'dry day' no booze due to local elections, on the other hand we have just been on the beach being server 'special tea', Kingfisher beer served in teapots and drunk out of mugs... I will have to spare you on my take on this weeks game, Back after next weekend...
maddog Posted 7 March 2010 Posted 7 March 2010 To be fair, Oakley has been pretty shit and useless all season in 90% of his games.
Guest Posted 7 March 2010 Posted 7 March 2010 To be fair, Oakley has been pretty shit and useless all season in 90% of his games. Utter rubbish
Milans Foxes Posted 7 March 2010 Posted 7 March 2010 I struggle to imagine how these people lived through the dark relegation battle seasons and ultimately the relegation season, they must have been on suicide watch surly? I'm struggling to imagine how these people even survived natural selection to be honest!
SamL Posted 7 March 2010 Posted 7 March 2010 The players you've mentioned have played a big part in our recent unbeaten 8 match run, which abruptly came to an end yesterday. You can't drop anybody on the basis of one bad performance. Yes Wayne Brown doesn't have the best distribution, but in recent games he's shown other qualities that have meant he shouldn't be dropped, such as his steely determination and his leadership. If we did what you've suggested by dropping Brown and playing Morrison at centre back, who would play right back? Robbie Nielsen? It wasn't that long ago that people were calling for his head. Dyer has been one of our main attacking outlets in the past few games and actually created the few chances we did have yesterday. Unlike against Forest, we didn't try to play football yesterday and we resorted to playing long-ball tactics. Sheffield Wednesday were just too big and too strong for us, meaning they were first to every ball. Our game plan obviously didn't work yesterday which you can tell by the number of errors that started to creep into our game before the end. Before calling for certain players to be dropped, you should look at who exactly could replace them. N'Guessan has been inconsistent all season, while Kermogrant and Steve Howard haven't showed anything to suggest they should be given a chance.
SamL Posted 7 March 2010 Posted 7 March 2010 To be fair, Oakley has been pretty shit and useless all season in 90% of his games. Unless you've been to every game which I know you haven't, on what basis can you hold that opinion?
MPH Posted 7 March 2010 Posted 7 March 2010 To be fair, Oakley has been pretty shit and useless all season in 90% of his games. wow.... seems to be doing fine every time i have seen him... not a world beater by any means but certainly not as bad as you seem to think he is.
Budweiser Posted 7 March 2010 Posted 7 March 2010 Everyone needs to calm down, we lose a game (believe it or not), and people call for players to be dropped, for one bad game? Crazy. We lost, but im not suprised, results don't always go your way ya know! Sheff Wed are in a relegation scrap, and if we aren't up for it, we're clearly going to drop points. Just move on to the next game We're in a fantastic position and all this negativity is driving me mad.
Corky Posted 7 March 2010 Posted 7 March 2010 Unless you've been to every game which I know you haven't, on what basis can you hold that opinion? It's his current scapegoat. It was Howard last season.
lcfcadam Posted 7 March 2010 Posted 7 March 2010 He should start with precisely the same team against Cardiff, showing some faith in a side which got a great result against Forest. But if things start to go tits up, MAKE THE CHANGES EARLIER! 55th minute substitutions, not 70th!

deep blue Posted 7 March 2010 Posted 7 March 2010 We do have to accept occasional poor performances, but should still be allowed to question disquieting aspects of it. I have 2 qualms. First, it appears we were caught cold by a Wednesday side that started at top speed. During the week Shakespeare and several players (and Pearson, too, I think) warned about exactly this, that Wednesday would be roaring at us from the start. So why did we appear to be unprepared for this? It's not the first time this sort of thing has happened. Secondly, I questioned a few weeks ago why N'Guessan seems to be out in the cold. He was effective in his last few appearences, including scoring with the precision of heading that we should be getting from Howard, but has barely appeared in the last 6 weeks. This has continued. Howard came on as sub yesterday, but how come he was played ahead of N'Guessan, who is far more mobile and potent? I wonder if he has done something to upset Nige. Any ideas?
caz05 Posted 7 March 2010 Posted 7 March 2010 To be fair, Oakley has been pretty shit and useless all season in 90% of his games. Has he hell
Sods Posted 8 March 2010 Posted 8 March 2010 Yeah well done boys on the 3-0 victory other Forest, Brown your dropped, Oakley so are you, Dyer your playing the best you have done in a while but sorry mate your dropped. fooking nora.
The Doctor Posted 9 March 2010 Posted 9 March 2010 Up until a month ago wasn't he tinkering with the squad more frequently than ranieri didi when he was at chelsea? We've had a settled team and been playing some of our best performances of the season (Newcastle, Florist etc), Coincidence?
