lcfcsnow Posted 13 March 2010 Posted 13 March 2010 Bothroyd will need counselling after that. Hobbs was absolutley collosall, virtuoso performance. Saw earlier that Cardiff had scored 31 goals away from home this season but they come to the Walkers and don't get a sniff. Hobbs needs a song. He's here, he's there, he's every fooking where..
Ozwin Posted 13 March 2010 Posted 13 March 2010 I've said it before and I'll say it again, Jack Hobbs - top 5 defenders in the league.
Matt Posted 13 March 2010 Posted 13 March 2010 Good result, very happy. I was bitterly disappointed after last week but wasn't panicking and said if we won today last week would be forgotten, it has as far as i'm concerned, I fear of talking about them but I think we're a couple of wins off a playoff spot, keep it up and we'll be there, 7 points between us and 7th place is great but if we're not careful it'll soon be lost, focus on the next game keep going forward and a playoff spot is ours.
CKB Posted 13 March 2010 Posted 13 March 2010 Shame about Vaughan though, don't think anyone has mentioned it on here or on radio, but he looked like he tweaked his hamstring 5-10 minutes after coming on. Ahhh man ya shitting me????
Ozwin Posted 13 March 2010 Posted 13 March 2010 Vaughan didn't look too bad from where I was sitting, I did notice he wasn't tracking back as much as everyone else but put that down to fitness. I hope he isn't injured already, he looked decent and got in some great positions. Was unlucky not to score actually, if it wasn't for a great last ditch tackle on the line he'd have had a tap in.
Webbo Posted 13 March 2010 Posted 13 March 2010 I think Cardiff must of had 60% of possession without ever looking like scoring. I'm starting to believe that Hobbs could play for England one day.
Jimothy Posted 13 March 2010 Posted 13 March 2010 Great performance and great win. Complete opposite of last week. Every player looked up for it. Hobbs was top class, Wellens was brilliant. Thought Nobby did very well at right back as well.

That would put a little damp patch on the result if he has done his hamstring, lets hope it's just fitness levels!

He definitely did something, Pearson told him to take it easy as we couldn't take him off at that point, from then was when he wasn't tracking back - Howard was having to do it for once!
Ozwin Posted 13 March 2010 Posted 13 March 2010 Bugger, everytime he went in for a tackle I squinted in horror, he's got legs like glass.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 13 March 2010 Posted 13 March 2010 Great result! Too grind out a 1-0 win against opposition of cardiffs quality is some mean feat. At the start of the season when if you had said, "we're going to be in the playoffs with about 12 games left, and beat teams like cardiff," Hobbs was outstanding
Ashley Posted 13 March 2010 Posted 13 March 2010 Excellent win for Leicester today, seven points clear of Blackpool now
Tommeh Posted 13 March 2010 Posted 13 March 2010 The only 2 things on my mind at the moment "when Leicester win and Forest loose oh Leicester, you've got me singing the blues" "We'll sing you to assembly when we get to Wembley so score, Leicester score..."
Dylan Posted 13 March 2010 Posted 13 March 2010 Great result. Thought Wellens played excellent today. Solano looked comfortable at right-back, and Hobbs was a rock at the back. Win against Palace please
dandannieldanok Posted 13 March 2010 Posted 13 March 2010 Superb result, win was vital and we toughed out it. Didn't think it was a particular good team performance at times but we did enough, the individual performances of Hobbs and Wellens were key to the success in my opinion. Despite their recent struggles Cardiff showed they can be a dangerous side but we took our chance and defended it bravely. Fantastic day of results around us.
AlphaMaleFox Posted 13 March 2010 Posted 13 March 2010 No Brown = no panic hoofball... True or false? Darkzzz_ Posted 13 March 2010 Posted 13 March 2010 Really pleased with the work rate of the lads today, Dyer was superb. Brilliant win.

Long balls were getting pumped up towards Waghorn for concerted periods, especially in the first 20 minutes.
andyh1884 Posted 13 March 2010 Posted 13 March 2010 Hobbs was immense. Such an assured performance, misjudged 2 headers 1st half but other than that he was magnificent.
Fox You Forest Posted 13 March 2010 Posted 13 March 2010 Really pleased with the work rate of the lads today, Dyer was superb. Brilliant win. Best player on the the pitch IMO, Hobbs was quality and I'm usually biased towards defenders but Dyer pipped him today. Felt a bit sorry for Bruce after finally getting his chance he was looking steady until he had to come off. The table sure does make good reading.
The Doctor Posted 13 March 2010 Posted 13 March 2010 great performance. Got to say cardiff didn't impress at all - every challenge that came in they were going down, not to mention the multiple handballs, molesting of vaughan when he was clean through and that farce of a throw-in. Still well on track for the play-offs - however 12 points off second with a game in hand and them still to play as well as an easish looking run-in , maybe we can still nick 2nd?
Ozwin Posted 13 March 2010 Posted 13 March 2010 I loved it when they had about 4 injuries where their physio had to come on. Then Waghorn gets one pelted in the face and then gets up without a fuss. ****ing legend, I love him. Exactly what you want in a footballer.
