The Doctor Posted 27 March 2010 Posted 27 March 2010 You'll win the cup this season which is some consellation. Mowbray plays pretty football but it's not winning or effective football. He changed the squad too much too quickly and had to go. A good manager with a fresh start and you should do OK next season. Rangers are skint and will be in trouble even with winning the league and qualifying for the CL. That's one positive for you to look at for next season. true but positives fade quickly and in their place comes crushing disappointment. As a sheffield wednesday fan you should know that. (no offence intended).
tartanowl Posted 27 March 2010 Posted 27 March 2010 true but positives fade quickly and in their place comes crushing disappointment. As a sheffield wednesday fan you should know that. (no offence intended). True however we're becoming more and more used to disappointment and mediocrity. Since we were relegated from the Prem 10 years ago we've finished in the top half of the CCC only twice. Like you we've had a spell in League 1 too. I will be delighted as long as we stay up this year. I have no sympathy for Celtic fans they don't know what suffering is!
Webbo Posted 31 March 2010 Posted 31 March 2010 Mail Leicester boss Nigel Pearson in shortlisted for vacant Celtic postLeicester City boss Nigel Pearson is on the shortlist for the Celtic manager’s job. Pearson, whose Championship club are challenging for the promotion play-offs, has yet to agree a new contract at the Walkers Stadium. The former Southampton manager guided the Foxes to the League One title last year and has emerged on a list of potential successors for Tony Mowbray, who was sacked at Parkhead following a disastrous 4-1 defeat to St Mirren last week. Former Leicester midfielder Neil Lennon is currently occupying the hot-seat until the end of the season and has not ruled out taking the job on a permanent basis .
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 31 March 2010 Posted 31 March 2010 He's not going anywhere! I honestly dont think he would leave for them, lets hope not anyway.
Guest DavidJCW Posted 31 March 2010 Posted 31 March 2010 Well if, and that is a massive IF, Pearson does decide to go up to Celtic, he'd be a fool of the highest order. Scottish football is shite, the expectations of Celtic fans are incredibly high and regardless of how well you do, your reputation up there counts for pretty much fuck all down here...
C-man Posted 31 March 2010 Posted 31 March 2010 Yeah he'd be a massive fool to go and manage a Champions League team with fantastic support. Fair enough the pressure to succeed is overwhelming but if he went I wouldn't call him a Judas. Having said that, I don't think he would go. Don't go Nige!
Ozwin Posted 31 March 2010 Posted 31 March 2010 Has he been properly linked with them or something? As if they're looking at Pearson! Don't be stupid.

Fair enough the pressure to succeed is overwhelming but if he went I wouldn't call him a Judas. Having said that, I don't think he would go. Don't go Nige! He could get a job with a bigger club down here with fantastic support if he wanted to... and as for Champions League football? He's last all of what... 1 round at best... The negatives seriously outweigh the positives of going up there... whatever way you look at it, if he was to stay at Leicester and get us promoted and stable in the Premiership, he'd get FAR more of a positive reputation than if he went to Celtic, won the league, Scottish cup and got to the knockout rounds of the Champions League.
Ozwin Posted 31 March 2010 Posted 31 March 2010 There's no real reward to managing Celtic, you look at Strachan, he won the league, cup and whatnot and ended up at a mid table Championship club. Really added to his CV with all that Scottish 'glory' didn't he?

MissCeltFox Posted 1 April 2010 Posted 1 April 2010 Dont worry Celtic are not going to come in for him If Lenny doesnt get it and i dont think he will then it will be either Mark Hughes which i am less than excited about or a foreign manager

Not trying to be funny or anything but there are few bigger clubs than Celtic They may play in a better league no question about that but Celtic are a massive club with a worldwide support just because they play in the Scottish League doesnt mean they are not a big club
