Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 25 March 2010 Posted 25 March 2010 I doubt they'll employ anyone till the summer, unless they have already said otherwise? Cant see NP going there, not at all.
ozleicester Posted 26 March 2010 Posted 26 March 2010 To be fair, the league is pretty poor, but these days how diferent is it to the PL? oop thar they only have 2 teams capable of winning the league, doon sooth there are 4... no big difference. Cant see any managers of note wanting to take them on.. unless they are explayers/lifetime fans.

If Rangers and Celtic were to come down here, they'd be a mid-table Premier League club at best...
Far Post Gerry Posted 26 March 2010 Posted 26 March 2010 Unless you're a Celtic fan, like Robbie Keane, I couldn't understand going there. It's not even like it's a nice place. Slightly off the subject, but here are a couple of quotes from die-hard Celtic fan, Robbie Keane... “As a fan, joining Liverpool is a lifelong dream of mine and one I couldn’t let pass me by.” Robbie Keane, July 2008 “I am a Celtic fan and did not have to ask much about it. I always wanted to play for Celtic and it works for all parties.” Robbie Keane, February 2010. The man's an idiot.
purpleronnie Posted 26 March 2010 Posted 26 March 2010 Whats wrong with wanting to play for celtic and liverpool?
Far Post Gerry Posted 26 March 2010 Posted 26 March 2010 Whats wrong with wanting to play for celtic and liverpool? Nothing wrong with wanting to play for them, but he said he was a fan. Just struck me as a classic piece of PR speak. In my opinion you can't be a proper fan of two teams, but that's a whole new topic altogether!

It's an Irish thing (vast generalisation) as most people i know will support a certain team eg Liverpool, ManU etc and then also follow Celtic/ Rangers (depending on your community background) as well and almost as fervently but for the most part they will have a passing interest in one or the other even if only for Old Firm games. I suppose it's a way of further reinforcing your alignment to one community or another. (yes, it is THAT sad)
lou Posted 26 March 2010 Posted 26 March 2010 No chance. He isn't high profile enough for them. I dont think THEY are high profile enough for HIM!

My other half's mad Uncle Martin cut a Celtic and a Man Utd top in half and then stitched them together to show his true devotion to both of them and I don't think he took it off the whole time we were over there. He also played me his favourite music about the blood of the English etc. too. Couldn't understand it when I told him it wasn't my cup of tea!
Guest Bilo Posted 26 March 2010 Posted 26 March 2010 I dont think THEY are high profile enough for HIM! Boom! If they do end up looking in the Championship for their new man, which I think unlikely after the Mowbray debacle, surely they'd be more likely to go for someone with a longer track record of success than NP? I still think our man is considered an up-and-coming prospect in football rather than the finished article.

DJ Barry Hammond Posted 26 March 2010 Posted 26 March 2010 He'll make a shortlist no doubt - fingers crossed he doesn't get an interview as I would think he has a very high chance of talking himself into the job. Lennon seems to want the job though, so I expect he will get a shot until the end of the season.
leicesterseddon Posted 26 March 2010 Posted 26 March 2010 You'd be mad to want to manage there. Completely thankless task. Even if they are a very big club.
Salieri Posted 26 March 2010 Posted 26 March 2010 Pointless thread. I'd give you 6000/1 that he doesn't become the next Celtic manager.
Guest nathan. Posted 26 March 2010 Posted 26 March 2010 Any of the previous managers we've had we'd probably be thinking alot different but with Pearson you just know he isn't going anywhere.
Koke Posted 26 March 2010 Posted 26 March 2010 Pointless thread. I'd give you 6000/1 that he doesn't become the next Celtic manager. Aye. He's about as likely to become the next Celtic boss as I am to bed Tim Cahill.
bluebeau Posted 26 March 2010 Posted 26 March 2010 Pointless pie in the sky, but...................... NP will not be going to Celtic If he did, my choice to replace him would be Mark Robins, not Tony Mowbray I just hope that Chris Houghton keeps his job at Newcastle when they move into the PL, 'cos IMO that's one club that NP would be more than tempted to leave City for. I see Neil Lennon managing Celtic until end of season, as he really can't win or lose. They cannot win the SPL this season, so best to stick with someone already at the football club, and then apppoint someone ready for next season. Anyone for Craig Levine, don't know if he's Catholic or Protestant. I don't give a shit, but they seem to place high importance on the matter, fkg assholes. Or what about the guy that's managing Republic of Ireland National team, can't remember his name. Finally, I can't stand the IRA supporting bastards, so I wish them all the bad luck possible. C'mon the 'Gers.

If the reffing had been up to sunday league standard in the 3 times we played them then we'd be an awful lot closer to them than we are.

C'mon the 'Gers. Levein is not religious, he's a Hearts man, and being from the east coast like myself is not one to be affected by the pointless bigotry. He'll definitely stay with the national side and besides Celtic wouldn't appoint him anyway. He's not 'Celtic Minded'. Mathmatically we can actually. You've had more than enough points given to you from bad refereeing decisions this season too. You've not been good enough. Accept it.
The Doctor Posted 27 March 2010 Posted 27 March 2010 You've had more than enough points given to you from bad refereeing decisions this season too. You've not been good enough. Accept it. well i know that. However some of the refereeing was a disgrace (for one the clash between brown and that absolute c**t lafferty - if brown goes then lafferty has to go as well), still under mowbray we still would have f**ked it up even if the refs attempted to hand every match to us.

You'll win the cup this season which is some consellation. Mowbray plays pretty football but it's not winning or effective football. He changed the squad too much too quickly and had to go. A good manager with a fresh start and you should do OK next season. Rangers are skint and will be in trouble even with winning the league and qualifying for the CL. That's one positive for you to look at for next season.
calum_lcfc Posted 27 March 2010 Posted 27 March 2010 Pearson didn't look intrested from the start today, got his mind on his big fat wage at Celtic
