Nick Posted 7 April 2010 Posted 7 April 2010 Was looking at the Swansea forum, and they're wondering why they loaned Dobbie to Blackpool. They should re-call him.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 7 April 2010 Posted 7 April 2010 £12,000 a week at most or the chance of not getting in the playoffs.
Edmund Posted 7 April 2010 Posted 7 April 2010 Something that nobody is keen to answer: would you all be this worked up if City had sold Dudley to Blackpool? After all, what a stupid bit of business that would be if we went around selling off our squad to our rivals. how is that relevant? It would be a completely different scenario altogether. In fact people wouldn't be making a fuss as HE WOULDN'T BE OUR PLAYER in that situation. The fact is he is OUR PLAYER at the moment and is having a helping hand in Blackpools push for promotion and it's more than likely that we're paying him a percentage to do so

You take girlie whinging to a new level. Oh, and I note again it's my posts you react to. Then you say you aren't obsessed.

Scored 5, 3 of which were (chronologically) the winners yet only 1 (last friday) wasn't added to by another player so you could argue that in 3 months he's gained them all of 2 points. And it seems likely if we had have sold him the ****** would be grumbling about how we sold a squad player collecting around £20K per week and contributing nothing in return to a team that have suprised everyone in even being in the top half and are now challenging us for the play-offs saying we strengthened a rival etc. etc. etc.

lou Posted 7 April 2010 Posted 7 April 2010 Maybe so but one we could do without. You are, I have come to the conclusion, either a) Completely mad or b) DJ Campbell

MC Prussian Posted 7 April 2010 Posted 7 April 2010 C'mon folks, not really the time of the year to start bickering about DJ "Fookin" Campbell. He hasn't really set the world at Blackpool alight - you could also argue that the Tangerines could've won those games in which he scored even without him. It's just the fact that he has so far scored five bloody goals that has some of our lot left in a bitter mood and hitting the panic button. Obviously, there has been good reason why he never featured for us (apparently not just because of his own remarks) and the part of the wages we save by having him loaned out to 'Pool has helped us gain some depth in squad, which could be quite helpful towards the finishing line. Also, keep in mind them orange shirts have a much tougher remaining fixture list ahead of them (both Bristol and Peterborough as spoilsports?). Looking about it, don't you think it's in a way a good thing to have another club adding some much needed pressure on our lot? We've seen how easily we've squandered a ten-point cushion and how absent-minded the guys played in the games against Reading, Derby and (to some extent) Cardiff. We just need a good kick up our arse, that's all. Even if it's Blackpool. Keep it up, peeps. We're in for a great end to the season. It just wouldn't be Leicester, if there weren't any drama involved.
Anish Posted 7 April 2010 Posted 7 April 2010 There's no reasoning with these people. Says Mrs Knowitall and her little army of followers.
Nick Posted 7 April 2010 Posted 7 April 2010 Says Mrs Knowitall and her little army of followers. To be fair I reckon a large number of people agree with her because she's right. I think that's why people as you put it, 'follow'. Personally, I think she argues her points well. I think sometimes though, it's difficult not to be blunt due the blind, ill-natured rhetorical crap a minority of people post. Had your contribution to the thread been anything like Lisa's you a) May have a school of thought backing your posts b) May have lost patience a long time before she has Give me 'Miss Knowitall's' opinions and posts rather than some of the ignorant tools who have appeared in recent threads any day of the week Anish. Miss Knowitall attends every game home and away and her opinions on football related matters pertaining to the football club are generally respected and held in high regard. Brainy Posted 8 April 2010 Posted 8 April 2010 Sorry but if DJ scored a last minute goal on the last day of the season that saw us drop out of the play-off's then there'd be a riot on here.
Nick Posted 8 April 2010 Posted 8 April 2010 Sorry but if DJ scored a last minute goal on the last day of the season that saw us drop out of the play-off's then there'd be a riot on here. What part of this phrase is confusing: WE CAN'T RECALL HIM. If he scores 5 goals it'll be as many as he has already scored. If we can't get in the play-offs we don't deserve to be there irrespective of DJ Campbell. I hope he does score some goals - it may mean we get a fee for him as nobody's gonna take him on 25k a week and he doesn't want to play for Leicester and Pearson doesn't want him to either. His loan has facilitated us bringing in new blood. This surely if we are unable to re-call him is a total waste of time discussing. If we could prevent him playing in the play-offs against us.... hmm maybe - but as we can't re-call him before then why are people banging on about it? To be brutally honest I wouldn't re-call him even if we could or did have the money.

If we can prevent DJ from playing in the Play-offs then I can't think of a good argument why we shouldn't do so.

unreachable Posted 8 April 2010 Posted 8 April 2010 Yeah, that's what I wrote. I'm afraid you didn't. You said "maybe" to stopping him playing in the Play-Offs. Then that you "wouldn't recall him". Have I gone blind? I note that the terms of our loan prevented him from playing against us on February 6th so it would be reasonable to think that if we were to face Blackpool in the Play-Offs then he couldn't play against us on that occasion.
Guest Posted 8 April 2010 Posted 8 April 2010 Says Mrs Knowitall and her little army of followers. Would you like some salt and vinegar on that chip?
marbelladave Posted 8 April 2010 Posted 8 April 2010 Would you like some salt and vinegar on that chip? Interestingly the factions on this forum have some parallels to the devisiveness that exists within our support on the 'terraces'. The superior attitudes of some of our supporters is counter productive, surely we should be united in our support for the club rather than arguing among ourselves as to which form of support is superior? (Sorry, bit of a thread 'crossover' there... ) Message to Nick. Just because a point is well argued does not make it correct in the first place. but on this occasion, (acetic) acid tongue apart, she is.

marbelladave Posted 8 April 2010 Posted 8 April 2010 Apropos of everything. On Monday, Leeds a club 'enjoying' a terrible run of form bounced back with a good away win at Yeovil. A win achieved by bringing a certain Max Gradel into the starting line up for the first time in several weeks. Buy him back FFS...

(Just for clarification, I'm being a wee bit cheeky).

Sharing 'insider information' with fellow fans is one thing, using it as a stick to beat those less well informed is something quite different. Sarky and and cynical put downs of people with alternative and different views is sadly all too common on this forum.
