Sir Fynwy Posted 8 April 2010 Posted 8 April 2010 Wouldn't it be easier to amend the Forum Guidelines to allow personal abuse? There are plenty of other forums available if you want one with more abuse.
marbelladave Posted 8 April 2010 Posted 8 April 2010 Back to being slightly serious, I don't get this kind of attitude. Ok, some of us know each other in real life, so what? It's not a secret where we drink before home games, and everybody is welcome to join us. We are (believe it or not) a friendly bunch; we drink, we have a bit of banter. In fact, if I remember correctly, wasn't there an express invitation to you to join us, several months ago, which you declined? There is no "clique" at all. As for putting you down for not being part of it, I don't think you have. All Nick has said is that you don't know Sir Fynwy. That is a statement of fact. Being equally serious I, was putting forward a view that has been expressed by others before me and which appeared to me, a relative newbie, to have some basis in fact. Add to this my dislike of the tendency for some posters to abuse rather than debate and perhaps you will get a better idea of where I am coming from. Maybe I take offense too easily to what I perceive to be an unnecessary superior tone, from some some posters in particular, and there is, of course, some rather nasty verbal abuse from time to time. I'm a sensitive soul... I accept that it is a fact that I do not know Sir Fynwy but suggesting that my response to his post was 'crap' because of this and without further explanation is an example of the kind of response that suggests that as an 'outsider', my opinions are less valid. Again I accept that this is rather a trivial case, but it has come up in a thread that we are debating and is, in my view, indicative of an attitude that comes across more forcibly on other occasions. Then again, maybe you are all out to get me, why else would you invite me to join you in your drinking den.....
Brainy Posted 8 April 2010 Posted 8 April 2010 What part of this phrase is confusing: WE CAN'T RECALL HIM. If he scores 5 goals it'll be as many as he has already scored. If we can't get in the play-offs we don't deserve to be there irrespective of DJ Campbell. I hope he does score some goals - it may mean we get a fee for him as nobody's gonna take him on 25k a week and he doesn't want to play for Leicester and Pearson doesn't want him to either. His loan has facilitated us bringing in new blood. This surely if we are unable to re-call him is a total waste of time discussing. If we could prevent him playing in the play-offs against us.... hmm maybe - but as we can't re-call him before then why are people banging on about it? To be brutally honest I wouldn't re-call him even if we could or did have the money. Go find where I said WE CAN RECALL HIM. Whether we can or not, there'd be a riot.

If I did, a certain poster would have a restraining order on them by now. I am welcome to all comers in the hope that they are secret millionaires who insist on buying all the drinks.
unreachable Posted 8 April 2010 Posted 8 April 2010 There are plenty of other forums available if you want one with more abuse. You will appreciate that my suggestion wasn't a serious one. Posters are frequently shot down with personal abuse from the powers that be.
unreachable Posted 8 April 2010 Posted 8 April 2010 What is the point of having a poll when I thought it had been established that DJ cannot be recalled with immediate effect?

Houdini Logic Posted 8 April 2010 Posted 8 April 2010 What is the point of having a poll when I thought it had been established that DJ cannot be recalled with immediate effect? There are many things on here people talk about that will/can never happen. It's a question to canvas opinion, lighten up
Bettsj2 Posted 8 April 2010 Posted 8 April 2010 Just signed up and read through this thread. Is this what it's usually like? I am surprised that people are still saying that he should be recalled when it was made clear weeks ago that, that wasn't an option. I do want to say however that the goals DJ has scored doesn't really have a bearing on our position as we have played badly and we have let the lead slip. It's too easy to point the finger and say that there are other factors that will prevent us getting to the play offs when the reality is if we perform well and take the points it doesnt really matter what goes on elsewhere. DJ has been a mistake since day 1 and to be honest I dont really care where he is as long as it's not here. When he got back into the first team squad, he spouted a load of nonsense about there never being a problem, he never said he wanted to leave etc etc, now he's back at Blackpool he's saying the opposite again. I hope he scores a couple more and at the end of the season goes there permanantly as i'm sick of him being a part of our club.

Guest Posted 8 April 2010 Posted 8 April 2010 What is the point of having a poll when I thought it had been established that DJ cannot be recalled with immediate effect? Because that fact doesn't seem to have stopped the debate. As it is, I am guessing that it won't be long before this thread is closed, so at least people can have their say.

I don't often post anything with an opinion any more, tbh most of my early posts were shite. I use foxestalk mostly, nowadays, just as a place to read stories rather than posting anything. A lot of people post things just to get noticed (i used to do this a lot) so i would take what most people say with a pinch of salt.

FoxyPV Posted 8 April 2010 Posted 8 April 2010 This is all getting very serious. We should just , , and for Leicester. If I ever get to a match now I'd love to put a face to a name. (unfortunately I am far from a millionaire)
Daggers Posted 8 April 2010 Posted 8 April 2010 I wish we'd recall DJ Campbell, his awesome finishing is going to prevent us from being promoted. I also hope that no one is rude to me for holding such a twat of an opinion.
maddog Posted 8 April 2010 Posted 8 April 2010 Theres been more polls on here on Dj Campbell than goals he's scored for us I've chipped in with 4 or 5, think theres been a good few more from others and now Lisa's done one
filbertway Posted 8 April 2010 Posted 8 April 2010 I didn't realise we couldn't call him back, it's a shame we can't take a potential scorer from them but at least our destiny is in our own hands. As long as we match blackpool then we should make it, I'd be dissapointed if we didn't considering our respective run ins. Still, it would be a real sickener if he did score the goal that knocked us out of the play off positions.
Shipman Out Posted 8 April 2010 Posted 8 April 2010 I started a thread as soon as he got loaned out to Blackpool saying how stupid it was, not loaning him out but who we were loaning him out to. The response to this thread was negative and i got called for it...... .....well NA NA Na Na Naaaaaaa I can rest easy in my comfy chair if Blackpool edge us into 7th
lcfcadam Posted 8 April 2010 Posted 8 April 2010 Lisa, I answered Yes to your poll but feel like it should really be: "Yes, if there is a recall option". Can't be bothered to trawl through this thread to find out if someone has already said there definitely IS a recall option (or whether there just is one anyway in all loan deals) but I'd say it's a pretty big factor - i.e. if he couldn't be recalled anyway then what difference does arguing about it make? But yes, recall him and put him in the reserves for a few games if it can be done. DO NOT attempt to put him into the team! EDIT: Just seen that apparently it ISN'T an option, which is what I suspected. In that case, yeah it would be nice to be able to stop him scoring, but not possible.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 8 April 2010 Posted 8 April 2010 Can't be bothered to trawl through this thread to find out if someone has already said there definitely IS a recall option No recall option, Mercury said that, but then, they said we beat QPR 4-1, so what do they know. And btw, before he'd scored 3 goals in 2 games, he'd scored 2 in 6. He's not the Messiah.
