lovelcfc Posted 17 April 2010 Posted 17 April 2010 sorry if this thread has already been done but isnt jack hobbs class hes brilliant does he ver make a mistake excellent today again
Dylan Posted 17 April 2010 Posted 17 April 2010 He's brilliant. Thank you Liverpool for selling him to us I believe he has the potential to play Champs League football in his career. He's only 21. Think he's better than some of Liverpool's crappy CB's they've use this season.
JoeyB Posted 17 April 2010 Posted 17 April 2010 he's been good but he's not been world class this season, once again he has been one of our better players but at times he does make some mistakes, not crucial ones just little ones which can be ironed out tho!
Salieri Posted 17 April 2010 Posted 17 April 2010 Getting better and better with every game. Could turn out to be a top class centre back, we're lucky to have him. Hard to believe he is still so young, given the right guidance i firmly believe he could represent his country one day, hopefully while still with us.
shiv Posted 17 April 2010 Posted 17 April 2010 I voted him as player of the season. He is a hugely talented player.
Gaffer Posted 18 April 2010 Posted 18 April 2010 He's here! He's there! He's every fooking where Jack(ie) Hobbs Jack(ie) Hobbs!
flanimal Posted 18 April 2010 Posted 18 April 2010 He reminds me of John Terry (I mean the rugged performances, not the shagging of players wives!)
Sampson Posted 18 April 2010 Posted 18 April 2010 I think he's the best young prospect we've had in about 15 years. His composure and positional awareness remind me of a young Frank McLintock.
Jay Posted 18 April 2010 Posted 18 April 2010 I just hope next seasons budget IF we don't get promoted is pretty good because we need to keep hold of players like Hobbs, King, Morrison and the way they are all playing it wouldn't surprise me if teams are already asking questions
Tony Pine Posted 18 April 2010 Posted 18 April 2010 i saw some bird with mrs hobbs on the back of her shirt yesterday. she was proper horro show
Corky Posted 18 April 2010 Posted 18 April 2010 Big fan of Mr Hobbs. Hope he's a part of this club for many years.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 18 April 2010 Posted 18 April 2010 I think he's the best young prospect we've had in about 15 years. His composure and positional awareness remind me of a young Frank McLintock. He's got great potential and playing ahead of his years. Better than many Premiership defenders already. Let's just hope he doesn't go into management (if he reminds u of Frank McLintock) I just hope next seasons budget IF we don't get promoted is pretty good because we need to keep hold of players like Hobbs, King, Morrison and the way they are all playing it wouldn't surprise me if teams are already asking questions Quite right, more than being worried about keeping Pearson (who I feel will be here whatever happens between now and the end of May) we should be worried about those key young players. i saw some bird with mrs hobbs on the back of her shirt yesterday. she was proper horro show If it's the same one I was sat 3 rows behind her.
Sampson Posted 18 April 2010 Posted 18 April 2010 I always remember McLintock as one of the best players I saw in a City shirt rather than one of the worst managers. He actually did a decent job at Brentford later on, so I don't think he was a bad manager, a lot was going against him at the time. Bloomfield's side were ageing. Weller had a serious injury and was never the same player, Cross and Glover had left several months earlier. Bloomfield's side were brilliant to watch, but were never that successful in the league anyway and often finished in lower half mediocrity. That side minus 3 of the best players in the club's history and it was always going to be an uphill battle. Obviously, he made a lot of mistakes, selling Worthington for one, but I think it would have hard for any manager to have come in at that point. He was one of the star players of the best City side I ever saw and the best defence in the country at that point. I'll always have a lot of time for him, regardless of his stint as manager here.
KFS Posted 18 April 2010 Posted 18 April 2010 i saw some bird with mrs hobbs on the back of her shirt yesterday. she was proper horro show I saw her and thought exactly the same HAH!
calum_lcfc Posted 18 April 2010 Posted 18 April 2010 I live near where he grew up and use to play Basketball at the school he came from he is a hero to most of the people round here. He is class I have so much confidence if any team is on the attack that we have a chance to get rid if he is at the back. But on the same point most people can look good at centre half next to Wayne Brown
The Doctor Posted 18 April 2010 Posted 18 April 2010 I live near where he grew up and use to play Basketball at the school he came from he is a hero to most of the people round here. He is class I have so much confidence if any team is on the attack that we have a chance to get rid if he is at the back. But on the same point most people can look good at centre half next to Wayne Brown what are you basing that on? Browns only faults are his lack of pace and distribution. Players tend to lose pace as they get older and if he could distribute everything perfectly would he really being playing in defence (or for us)?
Stevosevic Posted 18 April 2010 Posted 18 April 2010 i saw some bird with mrs hobbs on the back of her shirt yesterday. she was proper horro show I saw her too Safe to say that she is not the real Mrs Hobbs. Player of the season.
The Padster Posted 29 April 2010 Posted 29 April 2010 Defender Jack Hobbs wants to establish himself as a Leicester City great Jack Hobbs Jack Hobbs wants to establish himself as a Leicester City great after being chosen by fans as this season's Player of the Year. The 21-year-old central defender, who also topped a Leicester Mercury online poll, has been a virtual ever-present during City's Championship play-off push and has been on the brink of England under-21 recognition. But he said: "My aim now is to keep improving over the next few years and make myself a real name at Leicester City." Hobbs, voted supporters' player of the year in 2009, says another of his ambitions would be to skipper the side. He said: "I had a little taste of it when I led the team out at Cardiff (last month). "It feels like a real achievement to captain a club of the size of Leicester with its history and fan base. I would love to do it again. "I enjoyed the responsibility and wearing the armband gives you an extra buzz." The former Liverpool defender says his decision to join City on a loan move which became permanent has been totally justified, not least by his "special night" at the awards dinner when he was accompanied by girlfriend, Gemma, and his parents, Petra and Paul. "It has been the right move and definitely worked out for the best," said Hobbs, who also shared the players' player of the year award with Andy King. "People said you might get games at Liverpool, but here at Leicester I've played more than 80 matches in two years. I've played 43 games in the Championship this season and loved every minute of it. "It has been a big 12 months for me and there are so many people here to learn from. I like playing alongside Wayne Brown, who has been great for me. He passes a lot on, but we have a very solid back five." Hobbs said being managed by Nigel Pearson was "a pleasure". He said: "I've learned a lot from him, football-wise and mentally as well. He is a strong personality who is also calm at the right time. "I feel I'm improving as a player and I've got a lot to thank the gaffer for. He is really good at keeping us grounded. We beat Watford 4-1 the other week but we didn't get carried away and went on to win at Preston. "I've learned there are times to be vocal and get among things and times to be calm." Hobbs says City will have to show that calm authority when the play-offs start. He said: "It's been great to play in a successful team but we want to finish off the job. We have four games left and it all boils down to this now. We're determined to do things right." LM
Simo86 Posted 29 April 2010 Posted 29 April 2010 I saw her too Safe to say that she is not the real Mrs Hobbs. Player of the season. His actual missus is smoking hot, as is his mum/her mum not sure which. They were sat behind us at Huddersfield away last season.
leicesterfox86 Posted 29 April 2010 Posted 29 April 2010 He's destined for a U21 call up Suprised he hasn't already to be honest
Ford Super Sunday Posted 2 May 2010 Posted 2 May 2010 Sunday People say both Blackburn and Stoke are poised to make £2m bids for Hobbsie in the summer. The people say that he'll be 'playing Premier League football whether or not Leicester get promoted'
Edmund Posted 2 May 2010 Posted 2 May 2010 Sunday People say both Blackburn and Stoke are poised to make £2m bids for Hobbsie in the summer. Obviously there's most probably no truth in the story but there's no doubt that there will be interested parties. If so I'd like to think he'd command more than 2 million considering Roger Johnson formerly of Cardiff moved to Brum for 5 million last summer.
