Players to be released?

Can I put who I hope will be back? If so:

Waghorn - cause he's amazing, puts so much effort in and clearly loves playing for us.

Vaughan - cause he could well be a very good striker if he is given half a chance and stops getting injured.

And then we need to sign some better more consistent midfielders, a left back to cover for Berner, a right back to compete with Morrison, one more striker to work with hopefully Fryatt, Howard, Waggy and Vaughan.

Who do I hope goes?

Neilsen - though we could keep him just in case.

McGivern - but he's already going... this is more of a 'I hope he doesn't come back' choice.

Kermit the Frog - just cause he doesn't look like he's coping well here... certainly not jelling with the team that well by the looks of it.

There's bound to be more but I just can't think of them right now...

Don't think McGivern and Bruce are good enough. Vaughan is a class act, but injured too much. Sunderland want Waghorn back. We should try and get Spearing again.

In the regular squad, Neilson could be released, Kermogant would be better off in France, Oakley has a year to go on his contract but his legs may have gone, there are rumours about Brown, and Powell will retire to become a coach full time. Of the players out on loan, I expect Worley and Wesolowski will go, possibly Kee, Ashley Chambers, Luke O'Neill and Aman Verma as well.

Wage bill should be much smaller next year with Clemence and Campbell gone, loads of kids we've had hanging about the place too long into their 20's will disappear too. Also we've got extra money from the Premier League next season and the play-offs will have given us a little extra wedge too. I'd like to see Oakley go (is his contract up?) purely because he's the oldest and best paid of a bunch of very similar midfielders.

If this happens we should have some fairly reasonable dough to play with.

Absolute most important thing at this point though is to tie Pearson down and not get our expectations ludicrously high over the summer.

Have a feeling Oakley may leave

Howard was odds on abit back to go but i think he will stay for 1 more year

Neilson can't cut it and probs will be shipped out on loan somewhere

Kermit will be shipped out on loan probs back to France

Definite outs:

Ryan McGivern - back to Manchester City

James Vaughan - back to Everton

Jay Spearing - back to Liverpool

Chris Powell -retired as player

Possible outs:

Martyn Waghorn - On loan but out of contract in summer

Nobby Solano - Out of contract

Yann Kermorgant - Out of contract

DJ Campbell - Likely to stay with Blackpool if promoted

So far as I know anyway.

I'd really like us to sign a player in the Howard mould who can also run if we can do so. He was great tonight and is a proper impact player when the chips are down, but he's no good every game.

Bothroyd?

Yann Kermorgant - Out of contract

I thought Kermit signed a 2 year deal? or didn't it happen?

Not sure if he signed a short term deal in the end that took him to the end of July. Could be wrong though.

Yann Kermorgant - Out of contract

He's still got another 2 years left on his contract.

I think all of these will leave us this summer (besides all the loanees): Solano, Oakley, Logan, DJ, Kee, Weso, Verma, Clemence, Astrit (is he already gone?), Chambers, Worley and Fryatt

We'll have serious problems trying to replace any of Hobbs, Berner, Fryatt or King if they leave.

I hope we can bring Waggy back, as well as Bruce on a permanent basis. Maybe we can pull off a coup and bring back Mark Davies who's struggled to get much playing time recently. I doubt we'll get McGivern, Vaughan or Spearing back though...

yeah, I thought he was a weak link in the second leg. At fault for the first goal, kept Chopra on side. He also gave away the penalty, although to be fair Chopra was offside. And Cardiff were clean through on his side a couple of times before they scored.

Ins

Cleverley

Spearing (loan)

Gilbert

Vaughan (loan)

Bruce

Waghorn (loan at least)

Outs (not necessari;y who I want out just who I think will go)

Solano

Adams

Nielson

McGivern

Kee

O'Neil

After the season he's just had, Waghorn won't want to sit on the bench but it'll be up to him to tell Bruce he wants out and force him to listen for decent offers.

Matt Oakley - purely because he's the oldest and highest paid of a bunch of similar midfielders [as Flynny said]. And his legs are clearly gone.

Robbie Neilson - Cut our losses and ship him out to anywhere, whoever wants him

Yann Kermogant - Gash player, will never make it here

Ryan McGivern - Back to Manchester City - not good enough

Alex Bruce - Back to Ipswich - not good enough

James Vaughan - Back to Everton - too injury prone

DJ Campbell - hope Blackpool go up so they can take him off our hands

Nicky Adams - will never make it here. Too far down the pecking order

Add a bunch of our kids who have been hanging about the place for far too long, and will obviously never make it here.

Out of our loan players, I hope we can keep Martyn Waghorn and Jay Spearing.

Here is one Maynard from Bristol, he has scored a few goals, need to keep Spearing and Vaughan, can't see Sunderland letting us keep Waghorn unless they buy a new striker. Howard will be gone, so it means a target man will need to be brought in. Ranger from Newcastle on loan could fit that slot, worth a shout.

]I went to school with him  Thought I'd mention.

I reckon all the loan players won't be back.

The only out of contract players are:

Contracted to June 2010

Nolberto Solano - 22/01/10

Carl Petney - 03/06/2008

Billy Kee 17/07/2009 signed professional contract (Sky)

Astrit Ajdarevic - 30/06/09

Aman Verma 20/05/2009

Robbie Burns 20/03/2009 (March )

Craig King - 01/06/2008

Stephen Clemence - 13/07/2007

Levi Psssh ??/??/1997

Possibly:

Alex Cisak - 08/06/09 December

Joe Magunda ??/??/2008 (probably already gone)

Elliott Chamberlain - 18/12/09

Tom Parkes - 06/10/09

So all you wanting rid of the likes of Neilson & Kermorgan, both contracted until 2012 might need to think again.

I doubt we'll have any significant transfer funds to play with so don't expect any big signings.

I't going to be more of the same with loans again.

Our best bet is to hope that Blackpool get promoted and still want to buy DJ although would they still want him in the Premier League?

I'd have thought after Tuesday, DJ is well and truly in the shop window for the Middlesbrough's, Burnley's of this world to waste their parachute money on.

I'm more worried about outgoings such as losing Hobbs and King than unrealistic hopes of getting shot of Neilson, Kermo etc.

I'd also like to see this year's crop of loanees, academy graduates (Kee, Parkes, O'Neill etc...) given a realistic chance of developing into future first teamers through this new-fangled reserve team it's rumoured we're getting.

Players who I want to see leave:

Robbie Neilson - release him or sell him.

Ryan McGivern - (on loan from Manchester City) go back to the billionaires and carry on dreaming of getting a first team place in their team.

Matt Oakley - release or sell he's just not good enough.

Nicky Adams - I don't think he needs to be loaned out again this year, he needs a run in the side to prove himself because we have seen glimses of a good player, if he fails could be a summer or Jan exit!

Luke O'Neill - don't know much about this guy could be loaned out.

Ashley Chambers - once a good prospect but didn't live up to the expectation.

Astrit Ajdarević - release.

Robbie Burns - don't know much about him either could be loaned out.

Chris Powell - retired but he plays a big part in the coaching setup and he's a great character can listen to him talk about football all day, so a non playing contract.

Aman Verma - release.

Billy Kee - loan or release.

DJ Campbell - sell, sell, sell.

Craig King - loan or release.

Levi Porter - release.

James Wesolowski - try sell if not then release.

Harry Worley - release.

Obviously the loan players will go back to their parent clubs. I would love to see Waggy back here but it would have to be a loan don't think we can pay the silly money Bruce is after. James Vaughan can do a job for us now that he's overcoming his injuries (touchwood). Alex Bruce is a good player so would be happy to see him back possibly on a permanent contract. I think Jay Spearing has the best chance of returning to City and that would be good. Both Nobby Solano and Steve Howard can still do a job for us next season. Yann Kermorgant will stay, Nigel believes in him but he has to win us back by putting in the performances. Tunch seems injury prone to me, another season like this one and he must go but hope he comes back to full fitness during pre season.

To be fair, if Blackpool go up, or don't, i don't think their going to have any choice but to buy him in the summer. He's easily their best player at the moment, and i think they'd be uproar from their fans if he's not playing for them next season. You just know once he's signed up he's going to be useless as well.

If Blackpool do go up i can't really see any Premiership standard strikers wanting to play for them even if they do have the money.

Am I one of the only 1s that would like to see DJ back here next season. He proved how good he was on Tuesday night, I know he doesn't get on well with Pearson, but maybe they should sit down and resolve their differences. To see a fully fit Fryatt, and Campbell up front could be a great partnership.

Players to go.

McGivern, Nielsen. Spearing. Oakley

I wouldn't clear all the side out, also I think we could sign Waghorn in the summer if the price isn't too high. Or if we don't get Waghorn, Bid for Vaughan.
