Fox You Forest Posted 13 May 2010 Posted 13 May 2010 WTF! ... but not the most baffling on the list. So we sell/release Oakley (fair enough) to bring in Butt who's older, more lathargic and would no doubt demand a higher wage to replace him. Open the transfer section quick.
StanSP Posted 13 May 2010 Posted 13 May 2010 And many Newcastle fans don't rate Butt either. So imagine how our fans would treat him for his poor performances!
Dames Posted 13 May 2010 Posted 13 May 2010 If Big Steves out of contract then please god hand him a new one for the season at least, the past few weeks he's been immense. Keep: Bruce - Ipswich no longer want to keep him soon as Keane says your out your out so we can probably snap him up on a free. Solano - Impressed at right back whenever called upon, experience is vital. Worth another season at least. Vaughan - Heard somewhere that Everton are releasing him as they feel he's too injury prone, if so sign him up. Waghorn - Bombard his phone, mail, e-mail, twitter, facebook, myspace, bebo, hi-5 do whatever it takes for him to tell Sunderland to do one and sign for us. Get Rid: McGivern - Deluded and really quite terrible. Brown - Thinks he's better than what he is, might defend like a hero but thats only because he gives the ball away more often than not and from the past few weeks it seems hes not been the most positive of influences. Verma - 22? and not anywhere near the first team, couldnt even hold down a place at crewe, sorry lad its time to move on. Neilson - Started season as first choice finished at 3rd choice, he's a bit hit or miss but due to the emergence of Morrison and the fact Solano is adequate at RB it would be best to free up his wages for someone who will make a bigger contribution. Campbell - I think he's out of contract now, get rid and don't look back. Porter - Decent first half of his debut season, decent ball for Campbell v Chelsea other than that he's just vanished. Personally i think we will need another CM, a decent RM and LM and next season we should be fine.
hackneyfox Posted 13 May 2010 Posted 13 May 2010 We need a new goalie. Weale has been alright this season but has turned into a flapper recently LB RB Centre Half Two midfielders Two strikers
Guest Posted 13 May 2010 Posted 13 May 2010 Pretty sure Vaughan's said he wouldn't mind staying on loan for next year if he's not in Everton's first team plans. Would love to see him stay if poss
Mikey Posted 13 May 2010 Posted 13 May 2010 We need a new goalie. Weale has been alright this season but has turned into a flapper recently LB RB Centre Half Two midfielders Two strikers You having a laugh?
lcfcsnow Posted 13 May 2010 Posted 13 May 2010 You having a laugh? Why? Take out the loanees and its clear we need to strengthen there I think Weale has looked shakey/indecisive in the past 2 months, especially during the playoffs.
martyn Posted 13 May 2010 Posted 13 May 2010 Weale's form has tailed off somewhat, thought he looked a bag of nerves last night but he's still a quality keeper. As a priority I'd be getting rid of: DJ Campbell, McGivern, Neilson (if possible), Oakley and some fringe youngsters/deadwood like Porter. I don't think we should be looking for a massive overhaul squad wise. Get Nobby signed up for another year as well. Also, we couldn't get Waghorn on a free owing to his age, so even if he was out of contract, any move would be subject to a tribunal.
Houdini Logic Posted 13 May 2010 Posted 13 May 2010 I can remember Weale saving us a number of times yesterday with top class saves - first half in particular
SMX11 Posted 13 May 2010 Posted 13 May 2010 This is my opinion on the situation: Out Neilson- Free or nominal fee to SPL McGivern Solano (might be tempted to keep him) Oakley- 200k Derby DJ- 500k if Blackpool do not get promoted, 1mil + if they do. Wesolowski Powell- retired Brown- can't see him staying if Bruce is signed and Tunch hopefully to make a full recovery Then the usual lot of crap including Verma etc In RB- is desperately required, like the look of Seamus Coleman but I don't think Everton will sell. LB- cover required, Tommy Spurr? Bruce- has shown enough to be better than Brown AM/CM- Pratley, Ambrose would be preffered but they are probably out of our price range. Spearing would be welome back on loan. ST- Someone like Hooper, Diomansi Kamara, Steven Fletcher (Burnley not Bournemouth ) Possibly a winger as well, Cleverly return maybe The players mentioned (well some), in your opinions may be completely unrealistic but these are the types of players that are required to improve this very solid backbone.
Number 6 Posted 13 May 2010 Posted 13 May 2010 SAFC take on the defeat. In particular: It's a painful end to a highly successful season for Waghorn, who will be part of Sunderland's first-team squad next season.
flanimal Posted 13 May 2010 Posted 13 May 2010 We know Walsh was scouting in europe a few months ago, had two lists of players. One for Premier League, and one for Championship. So, guess it's list number 2!
Dylan Posted 13 May 2010 Posted 13 May 2010 Hopefully sold if we can to get a bit of money: Oakley Neilson
Spiritwalker Posted 13 May 2010 Posted 13 May 2010 Outs if we can . Neilson Oakley D J Adams Kermogant McGiven - on loan Bruce - on loan Ins if we can. Waggy Cleverly Spearing Kebe R.Back L.Back - cover Solano - worth another short term contract
AjcW Posted 13 May 2010 Posted 13 May 2010 I'd really like us to sign a player in the Howard mould who can also run if we can do so. He was great tonight and is a proper impact player when the chips are down, but he's no good every game. Is it okay to mention Lambert again yet?
Bettsj2 Posted 14 May 2010 Posted 14 May 2010 To go out: - Oakley Adrejavic Verma Worley Nielson To come in: - Vaughan Spearing Koumas Scotland Nicky Hunt Phillips
Dames Posted 14 May 2010 Posted 14 May 2010 Nige should slap in a cheeky bid for Jay Bothroyd in the summer. He might be abit of a wank but he's one hell of a player.
shen Posted 14 May 2010 Posted 14 May 2010 Nige should slap in a cheeky bid for Jay Bothroyd in the summer. He might be abit of a wank but he's one hell of a player. What about Jason Roberts? Has he signed a new contract with Blackburn?
Dobos Posted 14 May 2010 Posted 14 May 2010 Nige should slap in a cheeky bid for Jay Bothroyd in the summer. He might be abit of a wank but he's one hell of a player. He's definately trouble on the pitch. Powerful dribbler. Would be a great addition to the side.
kylestyle06 Posted 14 May 2010 Posted 14 May 2010 I seen Bothroyd in Cardiff on Weds night... Went up to him and said Jay.... he went to shake my hand until I said I was here to watch Leicester and WHY HE KEPT FALLING to the ground like a little girl!!
