artursteppe Posted 2 August 2010 Posted 2 August 2010 The only club DJ has had a poor goalscoring record, is with us. He has been prolific everywhere else. 5 goals in 6 pre season matches for us could mean he likes the new manager and his style of playing. I trust Paulo to evaluate whether he is worth an extension to his contract, ( obviously to keep him we would need to keep paying him as much as he is on now, at least ). If he extends his contract and knocks them in for us because he wants to play in the Prem, his value could easily treble. I would have sold him for £750k a month ago. Maybe Blackpool have lost their chance by only offering a reported £300k, and even though I never really liked him under Pearson, Paulo could be the one to get him scoring for us.
Liamlcfc1 Posted 2 August 2010 Author Posted 2 August 2010 Unless he is impressing to get a move to the premiership
hackneyfox Posted 2 August 2010 Posted 2 August 2010 Both mate! Campbell has been a big zero when it matters under numerous foxes managers. Pre season means nothing, and the fact he scored a few goals against lower league opposition in pointless friendly games does not float my boat, and I am fully expecting the headless chicken to return OFFSIDE when it matters. To knock back a million quid for an overpaid flop with a bad attitude and only a year left before he walks free is insanity. As for hollowords wasting the money on tyson well... he was willing to burn it on campbell so why not!! Could not agree more. A million is a lot to turn down for someone that clearly doesn't want to be here.
hackneyfox Posted 2 August 2010 Posted 2 August 2010 This link has been posted before. He never says that he wants to leave the club does he? He was filmed saying that he never wanted to go back to Leicester. Someone on here claimed that he thinks we're all wankers. How many times does a girlfriend have to cheat on you before you take the hint. Take the money and fook him off.

breadandcheese Posted 2 August 2010 Posted 2 August 2010 and for £1m who exactly do we buy to replace him? not just as a striker but any position you can name for £1m who can we get who will be an improvement on what we have? There are players about. Steve Morison from millwall is one.
OutFoxing-Cov-Since1884 Posted 2 August 2010 Posted 2 August 2010 Nathan Dyer another! So shocked no one has mentioned him yet anywhere. He ran rings around us down in Swansea...
Fox You Forest Posted 2 August 2010 Posted 2 August 2010 So shocked no one has mentioned him yet anywhere. He ran rings around us down in Swansea... I suspect it's something to do with him being a winger...
OutFoxing-Cov-Since1884 Posted 2 August 2010 Posted 2 August 2010 I suppose. I just wonder if his name sake Lloyd will buy into this style. He looked ok on Saturday, don't get me wrong, and I have always liked him as a player BUT he just looked tired... So I dunno if maybe someone like a Nathan Dyer maybe (in the future) would be worth looking at. (He can also double up as a Striker too)

(He can also double up as a Striker too) Lloyd shouldn't be playing on the right, he played a couple of lovely one-twos with King but inevitably when he runs onto the ball it was be on his right foot. If he hasn't got time to switch it back to his left then the quality won't be the same.

I'm not a scout and I also don't receive calls from agents and clubs telling me who is available. But for 1 million, anyone would be better than Dudley Judas, his heart is not with this club, never has been and never truly will be. Get rid

Get rid I can see your point but most players are like that nowadays, unfortunately. If he helps us have a successful season, I'm more than happy to have him, regardless of how he feels for our club.
hackneyfox Posted 3 August 2010 Posted 3 August 2010 If a player actually wants to be somewhere else then a decent manager will always let them go.

Jimmy Posted 3 August 2010 Posted 3 August 2010 If a player actually wants to be somewhere else then a decent manager will always let them go. has he said that he WANTS TO LEAVE since Sousa took over?
Nickfosse Posted 4 August 2010 Posted 4 August 2010 If a player actually wants to be somewhere else then a decent manager will always let them go. So I take it you don't rate Arsene Wenger as a manager vis a vis Fabregas?
tomtom Posted 4 August 2010 Posted 4 August 2010 So I take it you don't rate Arsene Wenger as a manager vis a vis Fabregas? Or Alex Ferguson with Ronaldo when he made him stay an extra season, at the minute DJ is looking our best option up front and we should keep hold of him. Fryatt still don't look the player he was before the injury....but given time he'll get it back !
