DJ Campbell

they'll come knocking again...we shouldn't let them take the piss out of us. Our player got them promoted, buy him for a fair price or piss off. They'll get him in August after they've lost their 1st few games.

Has he not gone yet?

I imagine the reason we're holding out for the cash is because this will form Pearson's transfer budget?

I'd assume so. Thing is, if DJ is demanding high wages (baring in mind Blackpool do run their finances properly and dont over spend on wages, i think 5-8k a week was their top line last season) the transfer isn't just 1m+, it would probably cost Blackpool around 3m for a couple of years out of him. Looking at some of the players Blackpool are getting linked with makes you wonder if their going to splash 1m on anyone.

Preston now intrested apparently.

Sources in Leicester report that both Ipswich and Preston are after the services of striker DJ Campbell who last season helped Blackpool to promotion.

Ferguson is after signing a quick forward and his interest in taking Danny Wellbeck on a season long loan has been well documented but nothing further has been done. Campbell was loaned out to Blackpool last season and scored a hatful of goals in a spell which saw the Seasiders win the play off final.

Campbell has one year remaining on his contract at Leicester but with a new manager to be appointed it is unclear on whether Campbell will stay although Ipswich look likely favourites to sign the forward.

they can both afford his wages??? surprises me!

Not unless he lowers his demands, dramatically. Perhaps with Pearson gone he'll want to stay here, on his ridiculous wage, and hope the new guy gives him a chance. :dunno:

Either way I'm happy. If he goes no wages to be payed save maybe 750k a year, if he doesn't hopefully a new start and a new DJ.

True. Despite the majority of our fans (including myself) harbouring dislike for the man, if he came back with a good attitude and started banging in the goals for us, then i'm sure we'd all be happy.

Same goes for Kermorgant, a new season is approaching and the most important thing is the team being successful, and if DJ or Kermogant are part of the success then so be it.

I know reserve games arent much to go by but DJ's goals in the reserves were mostly due to good link up play with Yann so they could be the strikeforce with something to prove???

with sousa in charge more aless hopefully he will give dj a chance up front with fryatt and n`guessan runnin the left side

thats what i wanna see happen anyway

Surely DJ has issues with his Leicester teammates that are beyond repair. Although, him and Kermorgant did play well together - in a reserve game!

Yeah exactly! The fact that he's even allowed to train with the first team is surprising.. I guess it depends on Sousa's opinion of him

He has gone with the rest of the squad to Slovenia, and Sousa has said he will look and get to know each player, so he might get another chance.

I know he said in the past he didn't want to play for Leicester. But he should now be given a fresh chance by the supporters. I'm sure Sousa seen what he did to Forest in that playoff semi, He will know what he can bring to the promotion push. :scarf:

Not that surprising, he's still our player and Sousa will want to look at all the players we've currently got. If Sousa thinks he's worthy of a place in the squad next season then we have to trust his judgement.

Please please please x 1000 cash in and get rid. We dont want any player hear who doesnt want to play for us and ive always said that!

Whats been said is in the past now.

If sousa sees enough in him to start him first game of the season then we gotta get behind him, same goes for kermogant.

Sousa will only start him if his attitude is spot on.

Blackpool got the best out of him because he felt loved there and thats gotta be the same here now and maybe he can do for us what he did for Blackpool.

Nobody can tell me that u dont want to see dj playing like he did for Blackpool here next season.
