The thing with Fryatt is... I do like him and I appreciate his goals for us in League 1 but I always get the feeling that he could go off the boil at any time. He is a goalscorer but he doesn't have many exciting attributes, he isn't really good in the air, he's not fast, he's just a good finisher. With DJ hes a decent finisher when he's on form and he is fast. Howard is slow and his finishing isn't the best but his main attribute is his aerial ability.

I agree that Fryatt lacks pace, and I'd also argue that he lacks strength and is quite easily pushed off the ball. Personally, I don't think he's a good finisher. Instinctive yes, but I've seen better finishers if I'm honest with you. To be fair to the lad, I think his main attribute is his ball control and this in my eyes is where he excels. He has an ability to create space for himself and does it very well indeed. This in turn counters the need for pace and strength as he makes the ball do the work. Together with the ability to dribble, really offers the team a different dimension. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying he's unbelieveable by any stretch of the imagination, but I do think he's improving season by season and if he can iron out a few niggles, like learning to pass the ball to a player in a better position than him, then he could go on to be a very good player.

Completely agree with this. The most heartbreaking example came in the 2nd leg against Cardiff where he'd beaten two men and was on the edge of the area with Wellens square in space and Spearing immediately square of Wellens unmarked and clean through. All Fryatt had to do was play a simple pass inside to Wellens who would then have put Spearing clear who in turn would have burst the net, put us 4-1 up on the night and the tie would have been over.

Still, the past is the past and a Fryatt, DJ partnership is the most exciting for a while.

I agree with you. Though I qouldnt always say he is a good fnisher. Sometimes he can be deadly sometimes he can be wasteful. I always think he needs a couple of chances to score before he does put one in, and a lot of the time he actually scores harder goals than he misses.

He's had me fooled for some time then!

He looked really slow when next to Campbell on Tuesday night! Wouldnt say he is slow, more a case of not being quick and sort of inbetween!

Some people on here have very short memories. Yes I want DJ to stay so we can see if he can replicate his

on loan and pre-season form for us this season, but lets not forget that Fryatt has been our best striker for

2 seasons and but for injury could have been the Championship top scorer last season. He may not have

every attribute a top draw striker needs but if he did he would probably not be playing for us.

Unfortunately I think this may be an indication he wants to leave........

Played well in pre season but if he wants to leave then there's not much point in making him stay!

My link

Unless he thinks we can make it this season.....hopefully

Leicester City striker DJ Campbell has expressed his desire to play in the Premier League again.

The 28-year-old played for Birmingham in the top flight before transferring to the Foxes in 2007.

However he then had a double loan spell with Blackpool and last season helped the Seasiders to gain promotion into the Premier League.

Campbell's future remains uncertain because the forward is still signed to City in the Championship but it is understood Blackpool are interested in securing his signature and making the deal permanent.

"The Premier League is one of the best - if not the best - league in the world and it would be brilliant to test yourself there," he told Talksport.

"I've played there already with Birmingham and I want to get back there, it was a great experience.

"You become a better player if you play in a league of such high quality, and to do that again would be fantastic."

Would have been a bit more convincing if he said he wants to get there with us. But then he hasnt come out and said he wants to rejoin Blackpool either.

Time will tell.

If D.J Goes then we have to make a move for a goalscorer! As much as I hate the guy Chopra would be a good shout, but we probably couldn't afford him and I don't think he would want to play for us either! Waggy would possibly come back on loan when Bruce starts to leave him out? But I am hoping D.J proves his worth and takes us back to the prem, 20 odd goals from him and all will come good!

You mean turning down £1m for DJ? Or Blackpool going for Nathan Tyson?

TBH, if DJ carries on as he has under Sousa then he will be well worth the gamble.

Both mate!

Campbell has been a big zero when it matters under numerous foxes managers.

Pre season means nothing, and the fact he scored a few goals against lower league opposition in pointless friendly games does not float my boat, and I am fully expecting the headless chicken to return OFFSIDE when it matters.

To knock back a million quid for an overpaid flop with a bad attitude and only a year left before he walks free is insanity.

As for hollowords wasting the money on tyson well... he was willing to burn it on campbell so why not!!

It's not that which makes him more valuable to us now. It's the fact that for the first time in years he's starting to show some effort and commitment in a Leicester shirt and, for me, that's all I ask from a City player. Luckily he has talent as well to add to that commitment meaning that he could become a vital player for us next year.

I agree, but sadly feel it's now a minority view.

If City get offered 1.5 million i reckon the club will accept it.

to be honest, he has done bugger all. forget pre season. do the business in the league for a change.

anyway, after reading Four Four Two magazine today and seeing him interviewed as a 'blackpool player' without a mention of City and talking about 'we' this and 'we' that.

fook him

Sky Sports - DJ eyes top-flight return

I think he will be off sooner or later. lets hope Blackpool come with an improved offer. I knew there was no point using him in pre-season, the muppet dont even wanna stay. fook him!

This link has been posted before. He never says that he wants to leave the club does he?

I've took 50/1 from Totesport for him getting the golden boot this season. They are very good odds IMO. If he does stay with us, I really do think he has a chance.

DJ (and his agent) are playing cat & mouse with us here!

Obviously any pro footballer wants to play in the prem, thats obvious.

DJ could virtually seal a deal to Blackpool or anywhere else simply by handing in a transfer request.

He is unlikely to do that as he misses out on his cut of the transfer fee, so I beleive he is hoping for a decent offer to come in which City will accept leaving him and his agent to negotiate a decent salary.

In the mean time he is putting in as much effort as possible in order to help attract that decent offer.

I would like to think that Sousa is hearing the right noises from DJ in regards to wanting to be here but I also suspect that he has one eye on bumping up his price by playing him and hoping he performs.

For me, its the salary alone that is keeping DJ here (for now)
