wiggy Posted 10 July 2010 Posted 10 July 2010 Burrda is not Joma - they're still 2 seperate companies. The club had an option to walk away from Joma after a year and go with a better (ie much much cheaper!) supplier The designs for the home and third (black) kit will be essentially the same with just a few cosmetic tweaks due to copyright while only the away kit (yellow) is a 'new' design The delay is due to not having a sponsor but it's looking like they'll have to be sponsorless again (or rather 'give the kit back to the fans') as the marketing dept there couldn't sort the proverbial pissup in the proverbial brewery. Other rumours (source: a loose-lipped drunk in Sug & Lettuce last night): Steve Howard's on his way, the Sales dept, programme and media dept are all to be outsourced as they try to trim wage bills to encourage a new owner (NOT a partner) to buy the club oh.. first post.. Hello!!

That seems very strange. Why get rid of Joma but keep the same designs? Might as well design new kits, surely that would make more sense and sell more shirts. Also, why have an option to walk out on Joma after a year but promise the home kit is for 2 years!
Sylvie85 Posted 10 July 2010 Posted 10 July 2010 I thought we had basically sorted a deal with thomas cook for the sponsor?? Sorry if that's been cleared up before.
Narborough_fox Posted 10 July 2010 Posted 10 July 2010 I thought we had basically sorted a deal with thomas cook for the sponsor?? Sorry if that's been cleared up before. Football league sponsorship.
davieG Posted 10 July 2010 Posted 10 July 2010 I thought we had basically sorted a deal with thomas cook for the sponsor?? Sorry if that's been cleared up before. The last official statement on this was by Hoos 2/3 weeks ago when he said they were looking at 3/4 options - nothing since and all evidence, rumours suggests that the delay in releasing the shirt is due to them being unable to agree on a deal. Surprising considering how many times we're on TV

I gueeeess that they think if they keep a 90% same design they can still say "it IS the same kit as last season so it is still a 2 year kit" despite no 125 stuff and different manufacturer. So we'll have an all-new set of kits for the 2011-12 season. When did we truly have a kit that lasted 2 seasons?.. And most contracts have some sort of no cost get-out clause.. buying a burrda kit for £15 (say) and selling it at £40 would make the finance folks' eyes light up more than buying a Joma kit at £25 and selling it for the same amount. Course they don't think about all the rebranding that has to go on in the shop.......
Narborough_fox Posted 10 July 2010 Posted 10 July 2010 . When did we truly have a kit that lasted 2 seasons?.. Jako.
VampLCFC Posted 10 July 2010 Posted 10 July 2010 Just been down the ticket office to collect my season ticket, spoke to the Scottish guy, think his name is Jim, he gave me a 20% off voucher for new replica kits and said "they should be out next week"

morris1234 Posted 10 July 2010 Posted 10 July 2010 Loved that kit yeah! i had 2 and all the orange squares came off on both and quite a few of the letters on one of them!
Jordan Posted 10 July 2010 Posted 10 July 2010 yeah! i had 2 and all the orange squares came off on both and quite a few of the letters on one of them! Mine's still intact, but I regretted not getting that in long sleeves. That comment reminds me of the game at Chelsea, when the letters kept falling off the back of the black away kits (and Alan "_ogers" getting lucky to only get a red card instead of an ASBO). It's the last LCFC kit I've bought. I'd rather talk about that one than this.
Guest DavidJCW Posted 10 July 2010 Posted 10 July 2010 yeah! i had 2 and all the orange squares came off on both and quite a few of the letters on one of them! Same... pretty much all the squares and some of the letters came off mine... useless quality. However, it looked nice enough when new!

Wymsey Posted 10 July 2010 Posted 10 July 2010 Going to rely on my parents to buy me a away kit as it costs a bomb in the Megastore, unless you guys help to contribute the cost for me?
Daggers Posted 10 July 2010 Posted 10 July 2010 Sponsor = £££ £££ = players Players = hope Hope = despair Despair = boos Boos = players leave Players leave = relegation QED: sponsors are a bad thing
