Dickie Greenleaf Posted 25 August 2010 Posted 25 August 2010 Cause when they bought him they were spunking money up the wall left right and centre (see Ljungberg and Dyer). Now they have to balance the books. Gold and Sullivan saidthat then entire squad, with the exception of Parker, were up for sale, so that doesnt really suggest they've got the strongest of bargaining hands
Jimothy Posted 25 August 2010 Posted 25 August 2010 Alan Lee from Palace to Huddersfield Played all Palace's league game so far and scored against City, so seems odd to sell him. Obviously Palace need some cash to pay Davids wages.

sdb Posted 25 August 2010 Posted 25 August 2010 Salcido to Fulham for 1.6 mill. Bargain, even if he's 30. He looked amazing in the WC.

Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 26 August 2010 Posted 26 August 2010 Very average defender, I know Gallas was never terrific for them, but Squillaci really is no replacement.
C-man Posted 27 August 2010 Posted 27 August 2010 I like Roy Hodgson but seriously don't understand why he's gone for Konchesky. Fulham have done superbly getting Salcido.
Fox You Forest Posted 27 August 2010 Posted 27 August 2010 He'll fit right in with the almost full squad of average players they already have, think they'll do well to finish seventh again.
sdb Posted 27 August 2010 Posted 27 August 2010 Liverpool sign Porto's Meireles for 10.7 mill. Any good? http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/aug/27/liverpool-sign-raul-meireles-porto
Jimothy Posted 30 August 2010 Posted 30 August 2010 Reading have accepted a bid from Hoffenheim for Gylfi Sigurdsson. They could have done that before Saturday!
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 30 August 2010 Posted 30 August 2010 Reading have accepted a bid from Hoffenheim for Gylfi Sigurdsson. They could have done that before Saturday! They must be mad. One of the best players in the Championship.

Jimothy Posted 30 August 2010 Posted 30 August 2010 They must be mad. One of the best players in the Championship. I know. 20 odd goals last season and 2 already this year. Must be a really good offer, or Reading must need the cash.
MikeyT Posted 30 August 2010 Posted 30 August 2010 Skysports.com understands Wigan have agreed a deal to sign Manchester United youngster Tom Cleverley on loan. A host of Premier League clubs, including Newcastle and Bolton have been chasing the talented 21-year-old, but Wigan look to have won the race for his signature. Cleverley has yet to make a first-team appearance for United, but he impressed in pre-season and he is tipped for a big future at United Cleverley enjoyed an excellent season on loan at Watford last season, where he scored 11 goals and United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is willing to loan him out again so that he can get regular first-team action under his belt. The England Under 21 international is highly-rated at Old Trafford and he was handed a new three-year deal earlier this summer.
Jimothy Posted 30 August 2010 Posted 30 August 2010 Marc Wilson going Stoke with Liam Lawrence and Dave Kitson going the other way. Good business for Pompey I think. Wilson seems a decent player but not good enough for Stoke to let those two go in exchange.

Wilson seems a decent player but not good enough for Stoke to let those two go in exchange. The main thing there for Pompey is that they've gained an extra player out of it, it's all about quantity for them at the moment. Luckily for them those two are good at this level also.
lildave3 Posted 30 August 2010 Posted 30 August 2010 Liam Lawrence is a cracking signing, really rate him.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 Marcus Bent has gone to Wolves on loan. His 14th club at 32.
