iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 6 July 2010 Posted 6 July 2010 i'm not sure about that. Players have done well in scotland then flopped after crossing the border No Scottish players that i've witnessed has been any good.
Narborough_fox Posted 6 July 2010 Posted 6 July 2010 No Scottish players that i've witnessed has been any good. Barry Ferguson, Craig Gordon, David Marshall, Ross Mcormack, Alan Hutton, Paul Gallagher, Charlie Adam. (Cheers LD3 for Adam)
lildave3 Posted 6 July 2010 Posted 6 July 2010 No Scottish players that i've witnessed has been any good. I know, Charlie Adam was awful last year,
Samilktray Posted 7 July 2010 Posted 7 July 2010 Dan Goslings a free agent!? I'm sure hes pretty decent too
ScouseFox Posted 7 July 2010 Posted 7 July 2010 Dan Goslings a free agent!? I'm sure hes pretty decent too He's alright, but you'll never get a true valuation from an Everton fan, because of that goal he scored against Liverpool Lower Prem club level at the moment I'd say, so expect him to join the likes of Bolton, Newcastle, etc.
Tilley Posted 7 July 2010 Posted 7 July 2010 They went for Cahill and were quoted £20 million, no wonder Wenger goes abroad.
Mav Posted 7 July 2010 Posted 7 July 2010 Barry Ferguson, Craig Gordon, David Marshall, Ross Mcormack, Alan Hutton, Paul Gallagher, Charlie Adam. (Cheers LD3 for Adam) Real quality players, completely cracked the Premiership I'm sorry but it hardly sets the world alight. What about these players: Joe Hamill, Patrick Kisnorbo, Stephen Hughes (real youth prospect from Scottish giants Rangers), Mark De Vries, Alan Maybury.
Alexikokopops Posted 7 July 2010 Posted 7 July 2010 I see Arsènal are signing yet more Frenchmen PREMIERSHIP TEAM IN FOREIGN BUY SHOCKER!
lcfc_jme Posted 7 July 2010 Posted 7 July 2010 I see Arsènal are signing yet more Frenchmen Get over your obsession, it's quite pathetic in all honesty. English players have MASSIVELY over-inflated price-tags compared to their "abilities" and nobody in the Prem is going to want to lose one of their "stars" to a rival in their own league for a cheap price, especially those chasing the top 4. Get a grip.
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 9 July 2010 Posted 9 July 2010 Nicky Bailey also to Middlesborough. They're making a clear statement as to what they feel they can/want/need to achieve.
ousefox Posted 14 July 2010 Posted 14 July 2010 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/8820649.stm Henry gone to America. Doubt we will hear much about him now. He could have gone back to the EPL but it must have been the £££££. Shame because he could definitely have had a few more years at the top level.
FoxyPV Posted 14 July 2010 Posted 14 July 2010 http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/jul/13/stephen-mcmanus-middlesbrough-celtic-transfer Got him permanently - good signing for Boro.
Fox You Forest Posted 14 July 2010 Posted 14 July 2010 http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/jul/13/stephen-mcmanus-middlesbrough-celtic-transfer Got him permanently - good signing for Boro. Well I guess we'll finally get to see how the old firm would fare in the championship after all. He must be getting close to a full staring eleven from them now.

He was Arsenal through and through, so I wouldn't expect he would countenance playing against them regularly with another club. New York is a opportunity to live in an amazing City and to be relativley annonymous, which is probably a huge incentive to world famous players.

I would have been very surprised to see him roll up in the Premier League this season, he has nothing left to prove here. He is nowhere near the player he used to be, so one final pay day and a drop down in standards seems appropriate for me. Plus those reasons stated above makes it even more sensible.
dandannieldanok Posted 14 July 2010 Posted 14 July 2010 New York is a opportunity to live in an amazing City and to be relativley annonymous, which is probably a huge incentive to world famous players. America and New York is the last place to be if you want to be relatively anonymous. Henry will be the most famous player to grace that league (apart from Beckham), every soccer fan over there will recognise him.
Guest Bilo Posted 14 July 2010 Posted 14 July 2010 Get over your obsession, it's quite pathetic in all honesty. Get a grip. Totally agree. This is precisely why I'm pleased to see Sousa using his connections in what is his domestic market in Portugal. A young English centre-half playing for arguably the Premiership's biggest club and tipped to captain both his club and country after impressive displays for both, even if the latter was at U21 level, would be very unlikely to come here as the media would be too busy spaffing over him. Yet we've achieved exactly that with the Portuguese equivalent in Vitor. Fact is, English players are massively over-rated and over-hyped before they've even done anything of note and their technical ability is not as good as their French/Portuguese/Spanish/German counterparts either. Is it any wonder why clubs look abroad?
Alexikokopops Posted 19 July 2010 Posted 19 July 2010 Joe Cole to Liverpool? Edit: Found the article on the Guardian website. It's subject to a medical due "in the next 48 hours". Four year contract.
marbelladave Posted 19 July 2010 Posted 19 July 2010 Joe Cole to Liverpool? Edit: Found the article on the Guardian website. It's subject to a medical due "in the next 48 hours". Four year contract. Baring problems with the medical, it would appear to be a done deal. Strange though, 'Pool's best and most influential player is an attacking midfielder who likes to support the front player(s) and is a bit flaky defensively. So with holes all over the teamsheet the go out and sign "an attacking midfielder who likes to support the front player(s) and is a bit flaky defensively".

Maybe Hodgson's bringing back the old Christmas Tree formation
ousefox Posted 19 July 2010 Posted 19 July 2010 Good signing for Liverpool. Not a bad replacement for Benayoun although i bet his wages are lot higher, but they still got about £6m for Benayoun so..
Jimothy Posted 19 July 2010 Posted 19 July 2010 So really Chelsea have got Benayoun for £5.5m plus Joe Cole. Good bit of business for Liverpool. EDIT: Just realised, Cole and Benayoun have both played for the same 3 English clubs, but never at the same time. A completely useless and not very interesting fact there.
