Asha Posted 15 June 2010 Posted 15 June 2010 North Korea have a crybaby in their team just like our old Gazza I see. I thought that was brilliant. Emotion.
Bugg Posted 15 June 2010 Posted 15 June 2010 The Korean Wayne Rooney Nah, at least he sings his country's anthem
Koke Posted 15 June 2010 Posted 15 June 2010 ITV are being fucking patronising towards North Korea. Just shut up you ******. Hope North Korea put in a decent display and do themselves proud.
Manwell Pablo Posted 15 June 2010 Posted 15 June 2010 Well this has been about exciting as the rest of the world cup so far.
maddog Posted 15 June 2010 Posted 15 June 2010 Even Brazil play defensive now. If Spain are like this tomorrow it's going to be a very boring world cup.
Koke Posted 15 June 2010 Posted 15 June 2010 Why are Brazil playing with 2 DM's? It's North Korea they are playing, not Spain.
Tilley Posted 15 June 2010 Posted 15 June 2010 Brazil have TWO defensive midfielders playing against North Korea?!
Koke Posted 15 June 2010 Posted 15 June 2010 Gilberto Silva and Filipe Melo - what's the point in having one of them, nevermind two.
maddog Posted 15 June 2010 Posted 15 June 2010 So Ronaldinho is one of the stars of the Nike footy ad yet he's not even in the squad Thought he was doing better at Milan, strange he's not even in the squad.
Tilley Posted 15 June 2010 Posted 15 June 2010 Glad Korea are upsetting them but Christ. GIVE ME ENTERTAINMENT AND SOME GOALS FFS.
Mee Posted 15 June 2010 Posted 15 June 2010 Well played by Korea. Can't say I have seen anything what I am amazingly worried about from Brazil.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 15 June 2010 Posted 15 June 2010 Cant say i like the Koreans all that much but credit to them, defended brilliantly. Cant help think that it would be great if Korea nicked a goal!
Koke Posted 15 June 2010 Posted 15 June 2010 North Korea's technique is better than I expected. Kudos to them. They have been very organised and disciplined.
dandannieldanok Posted 15 June 2010 Posted 15 June 2010 I know we all want goals and entertainment but **** it I'll be very funny if Brazil can't break these down. Fair play to Korea, may be unadventurous but their defending has been top notch so far.
MC Prussian Posted 15 June 2010 Posted 15 June 2010 It may look boring, but the sheer matchup itself is exciting as it can be. The North Koreans are very hard to break down, they've got a really good team work rate, everyone plays on his position and if there's a gap, it's quickly filled out. Also, they don't attack often, but when they do, it's much more threatening with the straight, short passes than Brazil's. That's what you get for exercising together as one team for 10+ months and not having to compete in league action. The Seleçao disappoints so far. Very static build-up, most power comes through Maicon's moves forward on the right. Kaka a waste of space (cleverly marked, though). No one in central midfield to dictate a particular style of play. Fabiano extremely frustrated, lacks delivery. Robinho convinces me most with his dribbling skills, but not with his shot selection. Is it too cold for the South Americans? Does this have such an impact on their slow movements? Or are they just short of the talent they used to have in the past 20+ years? Or is Dunga to blame after all for coming up with such a defensive-orientated starting eleven? I sense a cup-set.
Fosse Boy Posted 15 June 2010 Posted 15 June 2010 Brazil's complacency in and around the box is just daft. They by rights should be three or four up now. Taking nothing away from North Korea though, they're putting up a proper fight. If they nicked a goal I'd explode with delight.
The Doctor Posted 15 June 2010 Posted 15 June 2010 terrible so far. Seriously Dunga you're playing against north Korea, ranked over 100th in the world, at their first WC for 44 years and who were always expected to sit and defend, so why are you playing 2 Defensive midfielders and 1 striker? Should be going for them, piling attacking players forwards to try and match the amount they have back in order to break them down.
Jordan Posted 15 June 2010 Posted 15 June 2010 In the build-up to this David vs. Goliath match-up, I bemoaned that the underdog role had to be played by North Korea, a country that does almost everything despicably. However, I had a feeling that if they were to give a valiant effort and keep the game close, that the longer they stayed in the game, the more likely I would be to get behind them. 45 minutes of 0-0, I'm itching for an upset... C'mon, the "Chollima football team!"
