Chile v Switzerland - Mon - BBC @ 3.00

Tres puntos, per favor. Well, one can still hope.

Chile were and still are THE underdogs at this year's World Cup, I expect a tough fight, if not tougher than against Spain.

After all, Chile finished second place behind Brazil on the way to South Africa and scored only one goal less than the Seleçao.

Humberto Suazo was topscorer in the qualifying stages with ten goals (out of the total of 32 they put in the right net) and his goalscoring record in league terms is more than just stunning (182 goals in 268 appearances).

Also, Fernandez and Sanchez are not to be underestimated, either.

Their weakness, however, lies in defense and I believe Hitzfeld will field a more offensive line-up this afternoon (probably something like a 4-1-3-2).

We have to avoid complacency and be wary at all times.

Sorry Alexei, but Chile is my WC darling, so I'm hoping for the South Americans in this one.

Bit harsh that considering how much he was fouled in the process.

Another twat going down as if he's been shot to get Behrami sent off.

Difference was that Behrami did swing it, albeit not too hard, into his face.

Chile looked like they passed their diving exams with distinction.

Looks worse than I first thought but still, no one would go down like that in real life but they feel the need to try and get someone sent off.

Behrami had to go. They guy is a ****, never liked him. Swinging his arms around carelessly.

So the same fouls is punishable for the Swiss but the Chileans can do it at will and result in the Swiss guy being dismissed for retaliation,

Shit ref, shit Chile!

Perhaps the ref should have protected him more prior to his swing like he just did for the Chilean.

Yes that's all very well but you can't blame Chile, Behrami has no defence, if they're divers then the golden rule is not to give them the opportunity to dive. There may not have been a clean elbow but he connected with a guy 5 seconds earlier then has another pop.

Another harsh red card. The ref standard is really all over the place after a great start to the tournament. Play acting of any kind should just give an automatic 3 match ban after the game, if the TV pictures are conclusive.

Pretty much like Rooney in 2006.

He would have gotten the free kick if he kept his elbows to himself. He swung his elbow first at Beausejour and connected and he then swung again at the other Chilean lad. Behrami has no argument, I'm afraid. He had to go.
