marbelladave Posted 24 June 2010 Posted 24 June 2010 We r gonna do the Germans don't be so defeatist, get behind the lads wear a replica shirt with Rooney on the back and let's do it! That's the spirit Syston... :appl: I have to say, as the memory of England's wretched performance in the group stage becomes eclipsed by anticipation of the Germany game, I am becoming more confident. Germany did not impress against Serbia or Ghana so I think the prospects are pretty even. As always in these encounters I think it will be tight and largely down to attitude and commitment. 'Wear a replica shirt with Rooney on the back', I don't think so....
dandannieldanok Posted 24 June 2010 Posted 24 June 2010 Where did that performance come from?? Controlled the game and it should have been 3 or 4. Passing was much better and the commitment was there from everyone. I don't think any other player in the world cup would have done that lunge like Terry . Apologies to James Milner, was wrong about him, he delivered in the biggest pressure match England have had for years and put in a very accomplished performance. Defoe's involvement was also by the far the correct decision, not just for the goal but it also forced us to play the possession game and we looked dangerous throughout. Can't understand the continued criticism of Lampard. I don't remember any slack passing and in fact he was pretty inventive, a couple of cracking passes to set up chances for Rooney. Germany will be rightful favourites for the match but we're not Australia so we shouldn't worry too much in regards of getting torn apart. I predict 1-1 in normal time, but no more predictions after that...

Tight game, pretty much even for me!
Fosse Fox Posted 24 June 2010 Posted 24 June 2010 To be honest, I don't understand the first line. Plus, I think it's unfair to say that about 3 players. Ok, Lampard hasn't played to well but I did say that his performance was an improvement from the previous games. I agree that Rooney hasn't done anything at the minute, seeing as the 'world class' bit was abit sarcastic, but he has been injured and its unfair to have a go at Heskey when Defoe can't do what Heskey does - hold it up and flick it on. I was stating that the ball doesn't really stick when its little - little. But, I did say its an improvement. What do I know, eh? Im 'another buffoon'. Apologies for the 'buffoon' taunt and hats off to your honesty. You're not the only on here who doesn't quite get Defoe. And that's hardly surprising given that the hype surrounding him is inversely proportionate to that surrounding others in the England squad. Without question he is the most important player we have as he more than anyone else can be relied upon to translate huffing & puffing, headless chicken running around and mindless hoofing into the only thing that matters - GOALS*. We are in the last 16 because of him and that warrants a perfect 10 in my book. * GOALS are hard to come by - hence my joke about corners throw ins etc
CupidStunt Posted 24 June 2010 Posted 24 June 2010 Bring on the krauts!!! I have a business trip to germany next week, pls pls lets us win this fooking match. BTW, funniest thing i have seen during this world cup..............John Terry diving through the air like a flying fish trying to headbutt the ball whilst on ground level,
FoxyPV Posted 24 June 2010 Posted 24 June 2010 John Terry diving through the air like a flying fish trying to headbutt the ball whilst on ground level, Someone has to do a photoshop of this - preferrably with him in a yellow bus or getting caught like a salmon by a bear. Cupid - I love your avatar video.
