Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 30 June 2010 Posted 30 June 2010 Sousa is a right looker When City played Swansea in the cup I spent more time in awe of his irresistable silver locks. He looks like an architect. Sousa is the creator of "No Armarni. . .No poonani" 'No Calvin Klein, no 69.'
Guest Posted 30 June 2010 Posted 30 June 2010 Sousa is a right looker I imagine Milan/whoever has already got a Sousa/LCFC clothing and grooming products range in his mind, available from the megastore
Finchy Posted 30 June 2010 Posted 30 June 2010 Not like Pearson in his tracksuit, the pikey. Get a grip Nigel, suit up.
Alexikokopops Posted 30 June 2010 Posted 30 June 2010 When City played Swansea in the cup I spent more time in awe of his irresistable silver locks. He looks like an architect. He's a dream boat. We could play the worst football in the world and it wouldn't matter, I'd just spend match after match lost in his eyes. I imagine Milan/whoever has already got a Sousa/LCFC clothing and grooming products range in his mind, available from the megastore I'm all over L'eau de Sousa
filbertway Posted 30 June 2010 Posted 30 June 2010 I'm now full swayed to sousa, if loveday's on board then I'm most certainly jumping on the bandwagon. Come on you sexy portgugeeza, bring back sexy football to Leicester. Thracian's going to be gutted though, not only is he foreign (and not a masseuse) but we're not going to be hitting 100 goals a season.
lookwhaticando Posted 30 June 2010 Posted 30 June 2010 Nigel Worthington - 16/1 http://www.skybet.com/betting/football/manager-specials/t10002896.html Get in! He wasn't even listed before, and he's now in the mix at 16/1. Outstanding.
Fox You Forest Posted 30 June 2010 Posted 30 June 2010 The link doesn't work any more have they stopped taking bets? Does it work for anyone else?
ramboacdc Posted 30 June 2010 Posted 30 June 2010 as a bookie myself i can tell you that with these bets they know everything before the public do. ive known hodgesons going liverpool for a good 5 weeks now. pearson was 50/1 to go hull i really wish i had whacked a tenner on that. once its odds on theres not much stopping it. sousa is our man.
Koke Posted 30 June 2010 Posted 30 June 2010 Sousa looked a right handsome geezer on the touchline in his stylish suit in the Cardiff/Swansea game last season. I was in complete awe.
lookwhaticando Posted 30 June 2010 Posted 30 June 2010 Worthington's contract is up this year, I think... compensation may not be an issue. Get him in.

I work in a bookies myself and while the odds themselves are obviously indicative of his coming here, it's the speed with which he's come to be odds on that makes me think this is happening. It was 3/1 Sousa, 7/2 Mowbray and 10/1 bar yesterday, very much a two horse race. For the odds to fall from 3/1 to 4/11 in less than 24 hours shows exactly where the smart money is going. I'd advise people to start buying Portuguese flags and language packs to salute O Chefe properly.

Guest Bilo Posted 30 June 2010 Posted 30 June 2010 Incidentally, I found an old article from Wales News that's quite interesting. Turns out that Paulo is as into the Sports Science shizniz as Pearson was. Our link-up with Loughborough Uni may therefore be part of the attraction for O Chefe. http://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-news/2009/06/29/paulo-sousa-wants-science-to-help-keep-swans-fit-91466-24006225/
ramboacdc Posted 30 June 2010 Posted 30 June 2010 PM me with some tip offs in future plz. will do. im going to ring up betting control tomorrow to get the odds on the top 5 for the job if its not on the managers monitor or on my till. glad to see adams isnt in it though and if we do get sousa i hope we still play decent football. Thats all i want from a manager.

Apart from the slightly shadowy Chinese roulette machine players, they just grunt at you. When they're feeling friendly.
Ozwin Posted 30 June 2010 Posted 30 June 2010 I'm actually serious, being unemployed I never thought about applying at a bookies before. WilliamHill have some vacancies available as well.

Avoid the Big Three (Ladbrokes, Hills, Coral) like the plague. Not great to work for at all. Smaller ones are better in my experience, the pay's better and you work under less red tape and control. Apart from that, they aren't terrible places to work really, especially if you're into your sport. I chat shit about football all day and get paid. Not all roses though, you don't half get some unsavoury cvnts in bookies. And they always win as well. Bastards.
Edmund Posted 30 June 2010 Posted 30 June 2010 I really hope it's not sousa based on what the swansea fans are saying, it appears none of them are overly worried or gutted about him leaving. Saying that, no one on here seems bothered about pearson going, football fans confuse me. http://forum.planetswans.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=78275&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=34 This worries me a lot. Although one or two admit they can't fault Sousa for their highest league position, the majority are happy to see the back of his negative football, especially being played in their own defensive half. Those hoping for attractive football have to think twice according to what their fans are saying, it's the total opposite. I'd still have him over the majority of those in that list though. Hopefully as others have said the lack of firepower at Swansea was to blame.

Any tips on how to BS my way in there if I get an interview or whatever? I should probably PM you but ah well.
Edmund Posted 30 June 2010 Posted 30 June 2010 I wouldn't mind if he stayed but I heard tonight (I know, I know) that it's done. Off that Swansea forum.

We have goal scores in our side.

I should probably PM you but ah well. The only proper interview I had was six years ago for Laddies and my current job was pretty much a shoe in (due to my experience and the fact that I was pretty much the only applicant who could do what they wanted ) but just say that you're interested in sports, good with people, willing to learn and able to resolve disputes politely (a must, many punters like to work their own bets out but many haven't a clue how to properly) and you'll be fine. You'll need decent maths skills as well, just mental arithmetic as much as anything.
Guest Bilo Posted 30 June 2010 Posted 30 June 2010 Off that Swansea forum. That quote has just brought on vinegar strokes.

True. Don't get me wrong I hold Sousa in high esteem in comparison to the other candidates being touted, I just hope he can combine his defensive style with counter attacking football. He's also fairly new to the management game, I suppose he's constantly learning and can only get better. That quote has just brought on vinegar strokes. Apparently betting's been suspended. It's not on the Victor Chandler site anymore.
