Ric Flair Posted 20 May 2005 Posted 20 May 2005 Rumour has it that he's rejected Bury's contract offer. There's also talk of Wigan sniffing round him, we best snap this lad up. It will make up for the loss of Dawson and he'll cost us about £20,000 if that on compensation. Come on Levein, work your magic.
Ricey Posted 20 May 2005 Posted 20 May 2005 He's scored some scorching goals Bury this season and he looks an exciting player.

The thing that might go in our favour over Wigan is he's reportedly abit home sick as he has grown up down south and I think he's looking for a club around the midlands/london area. The compensation on't be much either as he hasn't been at Bury that long, they signed him from Arsenal I think? So you only pay for what it's cost Bury to train him since he's been there.
supedaj Posted 20 May 2005 Posted 20 May 2005 Yep - would be a great signing for Leicester. Up & coming, bags of potential - right age too.
Hazza Posted 20 May 2005 Posted 20 May 2005 Yeah, snap him up. Attacking midfielder isn't he? Can't see him displacing Williams and Hughes yet if that's the case but it'd be a good investment for the future.
Ric Flair Posted 20 May 2005 Author Posted 20 May 2005 Yeah, snap him up.Attacking midfielder isn't he? Can't see him displacing Williams and Hughes yet if that's the case but it'd be a good investment for the future. 112093 He can play centre mid, right wing or up front. Bury have been playing him upfront towards the end of the season and he's been excellent apparently. I think he could be a quality super sub in his first year, coming on and changing games. Give him the licence to roam, the opposition won't know much about him.

We have already got Williams and Hughes to play in that position and we don't need anymore. We need to proritise our signings and Levein has already said he wants players who can play in a number of positions so lets not get players who we already have an abundance of in that area!

C-man Posted 20 May 2005 Posted 20 May 2005 Has he got much pace? We need a lot more of that throughout our team

Simon Posted 21 May 2005 Posted 21 May 2005 Sign him up sign him up sign him up! He'd be an excellent super sub by the sounds of things. Whats his crossing like Hoof?
MON Posted 21 May 2005 Posted 21 May 2005 I can't comment because I've never seen him play. But by the sounds of it he would be a great sub to have. We have only Stewart, Kenton, Connoly?, and Hughes with a bit of pace in our side. That's worrying....

Whats his crossing like Hoof? 112489 I've only seen highlights of this lad play, but what i've seen of him he has so much potential. He's the sort of lad who we could sign, not expect alot of him because he's young and might take a while to adapt, but turn out to be amazing. Like some of Sunderland's signings last season and a certain Nugent also from Bury. I have spoken to a Bury fan and they said he's just got better and better each game he plays and he's looked amazing upfront and on the wing. I don't think central midfield is his best position, so there's no need to worry about that. He's got alot of pace, skill and a lethal shot. Not seen his crossing, but if he can play on the wing with all those attributes, no doubt his crossing is decent aswell.
Stuliasz Posted 23 May 2005 Posted 23 May 2005 I know very little about this chap but from the sounds of it, we are unlikely to be the only club after him.

Which is something that cannot be said about stewart.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 23 May 2005 Posted 23 May 2005 Christ, Trevor Benjamin scored 20-odd goals in that league. He might be cack.
Ric Flair Posted 23 May 2005 Author Posted 23 May 2005 Christ, Trevor Benjamin scored 20-odd goals in that league. He might be cack. 113680 Don't tarnish everybody with the same brush. Also Kazim-Richards would be on a free transfer or a mimimal tribunal fee. There have been some quality players to come out of League 2 in recent years - Dave Nugent from Bury, Jimmy Bullard from Wycombe, Jonathan Stead from Huddersfield, Jason Jarret from Bury, Dean Kiely and Paddy Kenny from Bury, Liam Lawrence from Mansfield (or was he from League 1), Dean Whitehead from Oxford (or again was he League 1) Anyway I could find more if I could be arsed. All i'm saying is he's a great prospect and could be worth a gamble for not alot of money.
Fox 4 Life Posted 23 May 2005 Posted 23 May 2005 Yes but we all know Levein wont go for him! Far to Scotland happy!
kenny Posted 23 May 2005 Posted 23 May 2005 Yes but we all know Levein wont go for him! Far to Scotland happy! 113694 Talk like this really starting to do my head in. Please look at where CL signed the players from originally before posting tripe such as this.
Fox 4 Life Posted 23 May 2005 Posted 23 May 2005 I never said they were SCOTTISH players i said from the scottish league i.e. Scotland. Im just saying Levein will not sign people in the lower leagues as he knows absolutely nothing about them

Leaving hughes as the only player that CL signed for the first time from scotland. Had these three been signed from the clubs CL signed them from originally this rubbish about him only signing players from scotland wouldnt even surface. Sometimes City fans are so short-sighted its unreal.
