Ric Flair Posted 20 May 2005 Posted 20 May 2005 Both of these players are being strongly linked with Chelsea. Who do you thinks the better striker? I personally think Torres is absolutely awesome and i've seen him play alot more than Adriano. I think it's taken Adriano time to get to where he is, where as Torres is a born natural and at 21 he is already world class. I think he'd be devastating in a team like Chelsea and I think Arsenal and Man United might aswell give up if Torres and Joaquin sign for for Chelsea. Torres is getting compared to Van Basten and I can see the comparisons. Some of his goals are up there with Marco's.

Interesting comments, i'd like to hear what other people think aswell. Perhaps it's just me, but whenever i've seen him he's blown teams apart with ease.

I like Torres but it is still potential for me, I have seen him miss a lot of chances but his movement and footballing brain for one so young is tremendous. In conclusion they are both quality players, but Adriano has more to his game and would be ther better signing for Chelsea.

Adriano and Torres up front would of course be better Like Hoof, eveytime I've seen Torres, he rips defenses apart almost single-handedly, but he's missed a few sitters for Atletico and Spain. Having said that, he is still the best SPanish striker around IMO. Adriano is a phenomenon as well. He's strong, fast, superb ability, great movement, and a bit of temperament...He can never be a miss... Conclusion: Maybe Adriano edges it, but it's a close call...

Cat Burger Posted 22 May 2005 Posted 22 May 2005 Torres is better in my opinion he always seems to deliver for atletico whereas Adriano seems a bit inconsistent and injury prone, when he is on form though he is amazing. Torres will be better than Adriano is in a few years when he reaches Adriano's age. Plus whenever I've seen Torres play he has been hard working, he is everything to his team.
Hazza Posted 22 May 2005 Posted 22 May 2005 Saw both of them play over the weekend and a fair few times before. Adriano for me, though both have had quite inconsistent seasons. Adriano just has everything: power, strength, speed, decent in the air and a good finisher of course. Torres is still a great player and, like Adriano, is pretty young so they can both improve.

I like him alot, but for me Torres will be twice the player he is. If Torres makes the right choices in his career, he could be one hell of a footballer.

Gotta be Torres! It's nice to see my thoughts over a year ago were proven almost at the World Cup where Torres looked the business but Spain bottled it again before he could really do some damage.
