samjohnson Posted 26 July 2010 Posted 26 July 2010 Blackpool striker Billy Clarke could be forced to sit out the whole of the club's first Premier League campaign with a serious knee problem. The 22-year-old sustained the injury in a pre-season win over Tiverton Town. And despite initial hopes he may return inside three months, Clarke has been ruled out until April after surgery on the ruptured cruciate ligament. "It might be the whole season. We're all gutted for him, absolutely gutted for him," said boss Ian Holloway. "He was looking so sharp in training and had done so much in the summer to try and get over the knocks he had last year." The former Republic of Ireland under-21 international was limited to just 12 starts last season because of injury and scored twice in all competitions. In a further blow for the Seasiders, forward Louis Almond has been ruled out for up to three months with a dislocated shoulder. Blackpool are short of strikers following the summer departure of Ben Burgess to Notts County and the return of loanees DJ Campbell and Stephen Dobbie to their parent clubs. HP Source
Guest ttfn Posted 26 July 2010 Posted 26 July 2010 'Scored twice in all competitions' What a strange way to phrase it.
jonthefox Posted 26 July 2010 Posted 26 July 2010 Blackpool are fooked before they even start. what little hope they did have is vanishing quickly.
lildave3 Posted 26 July 2010 Posted 26 July 2010 Not that I could give a shit but Charlie Adam? What about him?
Dylan Posted 26 July 2010 Posted 26 July 2010 Brett Ormerod and Taylor-Fletcher? Squad shown on FPL only shows 5 midfielders too!
ousefox Posted 26 July 2010 Posted 26 July 2010 They'll be lucky if they have 10 points by christmas.
Bert Posted 26 July 2010 Posted 26 July 2010 They'll be lucky if they have 10 points by the end of the season.
Guest Bilo Posted 26 July 2010 Posted 26 July 2010 First team in Premiership history to go all season without winning a game? Let's face it, they only have to win one less game than Derby did.
Asha Posted 27 July 2010 Posted 27 July 2010 Brett Ormerod and Taylor-Fletcher? Squad shown on FPL only shows 5 midfielders too! What a duo to have to attempt to strike fear into premier league defences.
Alexikokopops Posted 27 July 2010 Posted 27 July 2010 Not that I could give a shit but Charlie Adam? Charlie Adam the midfielder? What a duo to have to attempt to strike fear into premier league defences. I won't hear a bad word against Gary Taylor-Fletcher!
samjohnson Posted 27 July 2010 Author Posted 27 July 2010 I can seriously see them challenging Derby's famous record... They have made no signings what-so-ever and with thier vital players all loaned players last season... Saying They're screwed is an understatement.
Corky Posted 27 July 2010 Posted 27 July 2010 I think they'll do a Hull- start quite well then have a bad result and fall away towards the bottom.
StanSP Posted 27 July 2010 Posted 27 July 2010 Think they'll equal Derby's points record, but win more games than Derby.
J.Lisemore Posted 27 July 2010 Posted 27 July 2010 Suprises me that they havent gone for someone like Ched Evans or James Beattie etc. Do they SERIOUSLY think they will survive with the shit squad theve got ...
Tilley Posted 27 July 2010 Posted 27 July 2010 Wish Cardiff had gone up, at least they would have competed abit more.
Jimothy Posted 28 July 2010 Posted 28 July 2010 Blackpool aren't as bad as Pompey, they haven't got a keeper!
