Footballing karma for Reina there. Waving imaginary cards at the referee, then being beaten at his near post about 5 seconds later. Good.

As for Gerrard's attempted dive earlier, twat. And it got compliments from the commentators, because he got up and apologized. He still tried to cheat, just didn't do it very well!

I nearly posted about that. Infuriating. Tried to cheat but did it so badly he apologised and got the old 'what a sport' bollocks from the commentator (Chris Coleman was it?).

Rooney doesn't get charged for his elbow on McCarthy.

Absolute joke.

The FA need to grow some balls. Preferably sooner rather than later.

Yeah it is, but as the law states, the ref seen, and dealt with the situation and didn't include the incident in his match report, nothing can be done.

The FA are only sticking to their rules.

I understand the FA rules and it would seem almost weak and hypocrital if them to make an exception for this one case, but in situations like this surely Clattenberg should be hauled before the powers that be and asked to explain his actions. Asked how if he saw what happen he managed to come to the conclusion that it was only a free kick, and nothing more. Asked if he hadn't seen what happened, how he knew there had been any foul and awarded Wigan a free kick.

If they want referees to improve they needs to some sort of accountability. It's a joke a ref can make that kind of decision and not have to explain to anyone as to why.

Yeah, their rules! The rules they have the power to change!!

If it wasn't a big name, English player, the outcome of this would've been different.

Why don't you lobby for them to be changed then??

I thought Rooney was a complete arsehole before this incident anyway, and so it has been proven.

Funny how Fergy felt there was nothing in it and the questions were only part of a media agenda against poor old Wayne. If an Arsenal player had done that and Wenger had made those remarks, he'd have been absolutely shredded by most on here. Fergy is a giant red nosed cvnt, I can't stand him.

Wish I could give that more than +1. The amount of Wenger hate in the Carling Cup thread is a joke when you compare what Wenger says to what that senile old Scottish cunt comes out with.

Funny how to FA react and ban Ben Thatcher for was it 8 games?.... for the Pedro Mendes incident despite the ref having punished him at the time, so the FA are making up their own rules, again. They've bottled it, again and I'm pretty certain the fact it's Man u and Rooney plays a massive role.

I hate Rooney but this is something else, I'd happily see the cvnt out the game for good, absolute willy puller and it's little surprise the England national team has many passionate football fans not giving a chuff these days, with pricks like him representing.

Clattenburg is a total arse aswell, but we all knew that after the Villa cup game in '07 and Fulham in '08.

Good discussion on this on Talksport now if anyones interested or honestly thinks the FA, Rooney and Clattenburg havn't just completely shamed the game.

I knew you'd take that post personally!

How the hell am I gonna change the FA?! Managers and journalists can't. I doubt a trainee teacher will.

Delap heads in for Stoke.

Before half time i honestly contemplated sticking Coro on.

Chris Gunter got a retrospective three match ban against Leeds after the ref had "dealt with" the incident by booking him at the time.

They seem to choose as and when to stick to their rules. It's the clubs who don't have a team full of superstars like Gerrard and Rooney, who can seemingly club players at will, I feel sorry for. I daresay had it been a wigan player clouting ol big ears he'd have been hung drawn and quartered by now.
