Louise Posted 22 May 2005 Posted 22 May 2005 I honestly can't explain why so many people don't like him...its baffling! 113386 I agree. And I worry that it's never going to stop, he started playing for us about 6 seasons ago and still people like to slag him off. Surely it's just a matter of time before he gets tired of it and moves on? 113400 If there was a justifiable reason for it then I could understand! But I just can't see one. What did Jordy do? 113402 Is it because he's got a brummie accent?

Ricey Posted 23 May 2005 Posted 23 May 2005 I wouldn't be gutted to see Jordan go but the thought of choosing Wilcox week in week out scares me. Stewart is a far better player than Wilcox but if it was me I would try bring in a new left back or/and left midfielder.
surrifox Posted 23 May 2005 Posted 23 May 2005 You could probably buy burnley for less than £500k can't see them paying that for anyone let alone JS
Durnerz Posted 23 May 2005 Posted 23 May 2005 Left sided players are hard to come by and this is Jordans level, as a versatile man down the left side we should be hanging on to him, Wilcox and Tiatto are both injury/suspension prone and that limits our options, however should we go up I wouldn't like to see Jordan Stewart here.
Scow Posted 23 May 2005 Posted 23 May 2005 I would like to see him stay, simply because we only have Tiatto and Wilcox available on the left, which is a significant problem for obvious reasons (i.e. Tiatto's suspensions/Wilcox's injury problems) I can't see Stewart developing in to a Premiership player in any position, however, he is decent enough for this division. His defensive abilities have improved no end IMO, but his distribution and attacking play is generally a bit poo. That's why fans get frustrated with him because he doesn't produce often enough. The argument revolves around him being a left back, and primarily his job is to defend. However, he can be a liability on the ball when he does something stupid or rash, and that is because he isn't composed on the ball. A left back is also an important part of assisting a wide player, creating space and positions for either player to deliver in to the box. Look at someone like Maybury, who is equally adept at attacking and defending. Stewart doesn't offer those same qualities. I wouldn't be disappointed if Levein released Stewart, providing we draft in someone similar to Maybury on the left side. That's obviously easier said than done...
Ric Flair Posted 23 May 2005 Posted 23 May 2005 Jordan Stewart is more thyan capable of playing at this level and as we are at 'this level' we should keep him. He's frustrated me so many times, after seeing the potential he had when he first burst on to the scene. He hasn't got the attitude to become a top player, but he certainly has the necessary talent to atleast play in The Championship. I think he's defensively sound, he's actually a very good tackler. The one thing he sometimes lacks is concentration, confidence and positional sense. I think that when he plays alongside Tiatto they compliment each other well and it was no coincidence that when they both played together near the end of the season our performances improved, especially at home. He can get forward well, not all of the time but sometimes he actually looks amazing on the ball. Again, this is down to his confidence and his mental attitude. He is definately a key player for us and unless we can sign someone equally as good as him to cover both positions I would hate to see him leave. He's young aswell, he just needs to find that hunger and desire to achieve things.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 23 May 2005 Posted 23 May 2005 The one thing he sometimes lacks is concentration, confidence and positional sense. 113627 Our main weapon is surprise...etc etc I agree with your argument though.

C-man Posted 23 May 2005 Posted 23 May 2005 I really hope that isnt't true. Jordan Stewart is my favourite Leicester player Like Chainsaw said, i should think he's worth at least £500,000, as he's one of the best left backs in the league defensively. He would be a much better player if the crowd got behind him. He's one of those players who thrives on confidence, and when the crowd barrack him, he performs badly. C'Mon Jordan, stay, please

You never know though...
Frenzied Posted 24 May 2005 Posted 24 May 2005 If we could get 500K or even 250K for Stewart and have a replacement we'd be laughing. I'm afraid I'm one of those that doesn't rate Stewart - never have. He seems to lack football intelligence, gives the ball away far too easily and generally runs around like a headless chicken. I don't even rate his defensive capabilities that highly - check out the Derby highlights and you'll see him put on his arse by their right winger; something that happens all too often. That said, I don't condone the fans that boo him or any of our other players for that matter. Still, if we keep him he could do a reasonable job for us at this level, as long as Levein instills some discipline into his game.
rossporterlc Posted 24 May 2005 Posted 24 May 2005 i hated him last season but don't think he has been bad this season, provides some pace and an occasional decent cross
City Fan Posted 24 May 2005 Posted 24 May 2005 Jordan is worth at least £500,000. Why? He's turned into one of the best left backs defensively in this division. Oh dear......this has to be one of the most funniest posts I have ever read on here!!
