bigneville Posted 12 September 2010 Posted 12 September 2010 After yesterdays good performance. Who would you play against Cardiff? Ikeme Neilson Hobbs Morrison Berner Wellens Oakley King Dyer Howard Waghorn One change for me. Howard in for Fryatt. Fryatt looked short of match sharpness, and adding Howard to the team will give us more a focal point to the side, and a target. Also Howard has always caused Cardiff lots of problems. No changes in the backline or midfield after the performance.
Tilley Posted 12 September 2010 Posted 12 September 2010 I think bringing Howard in will kill the momentum of free-flowing football. Dany or Gallagher in for Fryatt and give Waghorn a more central role.

There is no doubt that Fryatt is a player who thrives on confidence, which is only going to be achieved through playing games and hopefully scoring goals. On his day, he's arguably one of the best strikers in the league. Due to the fact that I didn't make the match yesterday, I can't comment on the performance but from what I can gather, I believe that the team put in a decent performance and therefore I'd stick my faith in the same starting 11.

Dany or Gallagher in for Fryatt and give Waghorn a more central role. I can see your point, but the team did look more dangerous when Howard came on. Also, Fryatt was sooo anouymous yesterday that he didn't really have a major affect on the football, so Howard can't do any worse.
lcfc81 Posted 12 September 2010 Posted 12 September 2010 Yep agree with that, plus Howard ripped Cardiff apart in the playoffs. To be fair they really don't seem to like playing against Howard, its an interesting call but then you don't give Fryatt the match time he clearly needs. An interesting call indeed. (However knowing Sousa we will have a completly differnet starting 11 from Saturday!)
lcfcbradyboy Posted 12 September 2010 Posted 12 September 2010 Ikeme Neilson Hobbs Morrison Berner Wellens Abe King Gallagher Waghorn Dyer that would be my team i would like to see play
Webbo Posted 12 September 2010 Posted 12 September 2010 The same team as yesterday, bringing on the new signings in the second half to introduce them gently.

How this City side needs a sharp, in-form striker - it would make ALL the difference...is there no-one coming up through the Academy who's gonna stop us relying on bloody Howard and Fryatt??? - looking at Iwelumo at Burnley, Billy Sharp at Donny, etc etc... all this side needs to make the difference is that one 20 goal a season man... any idea whether we gonna develop one?
Ricey Posted 12 September 2010 Posted 12 September 2010 Weale (if fit) Berner Hobbs Morrison Neilson Moreno King Wellens Dyer Howard Waghorn

bigneville Posted 12 September 2010 Author Posted 12 September 2010 Ilkme Neilson Morrison Hobbs Vitor Berner Wellens Oaks Abe Dyer Waghorn After yesterdays performance, you'd change the system as well as personnel? To include 2 players you've never seen play before? You'd also play Wellens out wide? Have you never seen him play before?

Lillehamring Posted 12 September 2010 Posted 12 September 2010 from what i've heard about the performance it would probably be dumb to change the side. i think it all depends on why fryatt is struggling - he sounds like he'd be the only one subject for a change (with gally) that said, gally was pretty average when he started up top. i kind of hope that, if fryatt is here to stay, that sousa picks one of them and sticks with him - when will they ever learn how important the reserves are and i'd like to see Abe come on second half for which ever one of wellens or oakley that fails to turn up.
Wymsey Posted 12 September 2010 Posted 12 September 2010 5 at the back and drop king ?...you clearly never went the game yesterday ! I admit i didn't bit last season i did notice Wellens was given a much freeer role out wide sometimes letting Gallagher inside which i thought went well but this tactic wasn't used a lot
MikeyT Posted 12 September 2010 Posted 12 September 2010 Ikeme Neilson Hobbs Morrison Berner Wellens Abe King Dyer Fryatt Waghorn I think?
Guest Mee-9 Posted 12 September 2010 Posted 12 September 2010 I'd go with the same team. Ikeme (Looked comfortable yesterday) Neilson Hobbs Morrison Berner Wellens King Dyer Howard Waghorn Fryatt Oakley doesn't deserve to be dropped, but the we need the aerial presence of howard.
