tomtom Posted 12 September 2010 Posted 12 September 2010 I was really impressed with how we played yesterday and we definitely deserved more than a point so i would'nt change too much Weale (if fit) Neilsen Hobbs Morrisson Berner King Oakley Wellens Gallagher Waghorn Dyer Sadly this new formation really don't suit Fryatt, we need a central striker who's more comfortable when he's playing with his back to goal and with more strength which is why i'd stick Waggy in there or maybe Howard with waghorn playing outside instead of gally The squad is looking really strong now and the likes of Moreno, Vitor, Zayatte and Abe have got a fight on there hands for a place in the side
tomtom Posted 12 September 2010 Posted 12 September 2010 I'd go with the same team. Ikeme (Looked comfortable yesterday) Neilson Hobbs Morrison Berner Wellens King Dyer Howard Waghorn Fryatt Oakley doesn't deserve to be dropped, but the we need the aerial presence of howard. Dyer was fantastic yesterday, you can't stick him in the central 3 it's not his game
Guest Posted 12 September 2010 Posted 12 September 2010 and i'd like to see Abe come on second half for which ever one of wellens or oakley that fails to turn up. Loving the optimism Same team I say
Dylan Posted 12 September 2010 Posted 12 September 2010 Weale/Ikeme Neilson Hobbs Morrison Berner Wellens Oakley King Dyer Fryatt Waghorn Subs: Ikeme/Logan, Kennedy, Moreno, Abe, Gallagher, Howard, Nguessan. Same starting lineup for me par Weale if he is fit. Just need to click with the finishing. As much as I dislike Oakley playing, he supposed to have played alright on Saturday, so why change it. Bring in Abe on the bench (if he finally has clearance).

lcfc_jme Posted 12 September 2010 Posted 12 September 2010 Essentially the same team as yesterday based on how it appears we performed, though I'd consider resting Oakley 'cos of his suspect knees so bring in Abe or Moreno, and then bring in Gally for Fryatt but shift Waghorn up top. Bring Fryatt on in the second with plenty of time remaining if it isn't going according to plan. Howard should only be used for 15 - 20 minutes towards the end if we're throwing the kitchen sink at it.
1964FOX Posted 12 September 2010 Posted 12 September 2010 Weale Neilsen Hobbs Morrisson Berner King Abe Gallacher Dyer Waghorn Fryatt Harsh on Oakley as others have said but we have to learn to live without both him and Howard if we are to become a better team. They both still have a roll to play, Howard as an impact sub and Oakley as steady cover. Waghorn needs to be played as an out and out striker and Wellens needs to learn when to do his tricks and when to play a % pass.
Callabinho Posted 12 September 2010 Posted 12 September 2010 Problem comes with Oakley, just as we get a new midfielder in he goes and has a blinder! However i agree with swapping Gally for Fryatt on this occasion, he seems to be lacking sharpness!
MC Prussian Posted 12 September 2010 Posted 12 September 2010 Yesterday's team seemed to cope more than well with Sousa's tactics. So I wouldn't change much. Oakley was surprisingly reliable on Saturday, Wellens rather frustrating to watch, giving the ball away so easily with misled passes. Weale Neilson Morrison Hobbs Berner Dyer Oakley King Moussa Fryatt Waghorn Subs: Logan, Lamey, Moreno, Abe, Wellens, Gallagher, Howard
Fmfox Posted 12 September 2010 Posted 12 September 2010 Weale (Ikeme) Neilson Morrison Hobbs Berner King Wellens Abe Dyer Waghorn Gallagher Subs: Logan, Lamey, Moussa, Moreno, Howard, N'Guessan, Fryatt
Messi Posted 12 September 2010 Posted 12 September 2010 Ikeme Neilson Morrison Hobbs Berner Oakley Wellens Dyer King Gallagher Waghorn I would start with this team, Dyer has in my opinion played better on the right in the last couple of games and Gally played well on the left side yesterday, cutting inside and putting a quality pass through to Dyer in the build up for Kings goal. And Neilson and Morrison deserve to keep the places in the side
lcfcsnow Posted 12 September 2010 Posted 12 September 2010 I'd bring Zayette in if it allows Hobbs to go back to his preferred position on the right of the center backs. Morrison at right back. Steve Howard, just no.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 12 September 2010 Posted 12 September 2010 I'd bring Zayette in if it allows Hobbs to go back to his preferred position on the right of the center backs. Morrison at right back. Steve Howard, just no. Sure I heard he couldnt play till after Tuesday, though I might be wrong. But if he can play, like you I'd have him and Hobbs at the back.
caz05 Posted 12 September 2010 Posted 12 September 2010 Without a reserve league, the only way Fryatt is going to gain match sharpness is through playing football. There is no doubt that Fryatt is a player who thrives on confidence, which is only going to be achieved through playing games and hopefully scoring goals. On his day, he's arguably one of the best strikers in the league. Due to the fact that I didn't make the match yesterday, I can't comment on the performance but from what I can gather, I believe that the team put in a decent performance and therefore I'd stick my faith in the same starting 11. Fryatt needs game time to get shapness surely Same team for me

Unabomber Posted 12 September 2010 Posted 12 September 2010 We need to have a team of players who will give their all for the team and work hard, Fryatt just didn't on against Cov so I would just put Waghorn centrally as he played that role well on times last season. Ikeme Neilson Morrison Hobbs Berner Wellens Oakley King Dyer Waghorn Gallagher
Candidcamera Posted 12 September 2010 Posted 12 September 2010 Howard did really well against Cardiff last time out so I think he should play a part- Logan Neilson Hobbs Morrison Berner King Oakley Wellens Dyer Fryatt/Waghorn Howard
milan_foxes Posted 12 September 2010 Posted 12 September 2010 Ikeme Neilson Hobbs ??????? Kennedy Gallagher Wellens King Dyer Waghorn Howard Thoughts.....

Joe. Posted 12 September 2010 Posted 12 September 2010 Fryatt loves it at home. Not fussed about goalkeeper Neilson --- Hobbs --- Morrison --- Berner Gallagher --- Wellens --- King Dyer --- Fryatt --- Waghorn
Lillehamring Posted 12 September 2010 Posted 12 September 2010 i'm bewildered by all these comments that 'howard had a good game against cardiff last year' so he should start. apart from the fact that it means absolutely nothing, didn't we play them more than once last year, with a different manager, playing a totally different style of football? do you guys actually think before you type?
