Unabomber Posted 15 September 2010 Posted 15 September 2010 I cringe at the likes of "pedo" and "engerland" chants. Most of the Kop seem to love chanting Engerland over and over, but a full blown rendition of When You're Smiling is about as rare as a Piers Morgan appreciation group. Also apparently the Cardiff fans were chanting something vile about Sousa, anyone know anything about this?
Leicester_Loyal Posted 15 September 2010 Posted 15 September 2010 There was a chant about Sousa met with a few gasps from people around me, I couldn't make out what it was though.

It's all about the Kop these days.
1964FOX Posted 15 September 2010 Posted 15 September 2010 Like you say it must be the stadium then cos we were close to you. First half it seemed like we were very loud. 2nd half we were a bit quiet, not much to sing about when your team offer no threat and its backs against the wall It is the stadium mate even when the kop is in full voice it's hard for your end to hear us, we struggle to hear our fans that were next to you when they sing as well. Usually need 2000+ away fans singing to hear them but seems most enjoyed the atmosphere of their own sections last night.
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 15 September 2010 Posted 15 September 2010 You call that rocking? A big roar when you scored, but besides a few rows around your drummer, the place is a library!!! And without that drum half your chants wouldnt have got momentum... We outsung you all first half, and outsung you for 90 mins in the playoff first leg last year. Fairplay to the fatty drummer doing the ayatolla mind Not sure if you were watching Cov v Swansea at the Ricoh? We were at the Walkers, place was buzzing. Everyone was having a great laugh in the kop.
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 15 September 2010 Posted 15 September 2010 Cracking effort by everyone. Wish we could see this regularly on saturday afternoons. And i also wish we would show Andy King some appreciation. The King song is perfect but isnt sung. (Kc and the sunshine band- Baby give it up) Na na na na na na na na na na na Andy Andy King Andy King Andy Andy King!

First half it seemed like we were very loud. 2nd half we were a bit quiet, not much to sing about when your team offer no threat and its backs against the wall You weren't close to most of the noise. Most of the noise was down the other end and it was pretty loud. I sit in C2, the corner block next to the Kop - far enough away that we can't really hear the Kop much when it's quiet but close enough to be able to hear them when it's not. Thought Cardiff were vocal to begin with but shut up quickly once we started passing circles round them. Picked up after they scored and then died a death after we got on top in the second half. The acoustics in the ground aren't terrific.
acooling08 Posted 15 September 2010 Posted 15 September 2010 Sousa shagged your son was cringeworthy.

I would love it if the Jersey Budd version got sung, or at least the original at that pace It's all about the Kop these days. You are correct sir

Ford Super Sunday Posted 15 September 2010 Posted 15 September 2010 As petty as it is, it was annoying that people in my area of the ground didn't know how to go from the slow version of 'oh when the blues' to the sped up version. No merging at all, just straight from the slow to the original fast, twas a tad annoying.

Fairplay to the fatty drummer doing the ayatolla mind We outsung you in the 2nd leg at your place. Good turnout from your lot last night though, one of the bigger followings for a non midlands team on a midweek, thought it was nearer 1500.

Jimmy Posted 15 September 2010 Posted 15 September 2010 Perhaps it's because it's a Tottenham thing and most people want nothing to do with it!! EVERY chant, except, When Your Smiling, is a chant other clubs do
Guest ttfn Posted 15 September 2010 Posted 15 September 2010 The King chant was good because it seemed that people had finally settled on one, rather than an array of half-hearted efforts at various tunes. The paedo stuff was shocking. Seriously grow up, it's not funny at the best of times, let alone when it's as close to the bone as it is with Dave Jones. His life got totally ruined for no reason.
Ford Super Sunday Posted 15 September 2010 Posted 15 September 2010 Perhaps it's because it's a Tottenham thing and most people want nothing to do with it!! Oh okay then, let's just sit in silence for that moment while we decide not to rip off any chants Or better yet, let's get another rendition of Ring of fire, EL CEE EFF CEE going, let's shake it up Away from home that chant gets going, I don't see the problem with it, unless THFC chant police want to sue us
Corky Posted 15 September 2010 Posted 15 September 2010 The "Andy King scores a goal" chant would be good to settle on. Like that.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 15 September 2010 Posted 15 September 2010 can we have less of the "x is a paedophile" chants please Now there is nothing wrong with calling someone a peadophile.

Bob Farley Posted 15 September 2010 Posted 15 September 2010 dave jones moaning his cardiff side were tired, more like our lesta were on top form!
lcfc81 Posted 15 September 2010 Posted 15 September 2010 dave jones moaning his cardiff side were tired, more like our lesta were on top form! thats because they spent the whole night having to chase after the ball!
Fox You Forest Posted 15 September 2010 Posted 15 September 2010 thats because they spent the whole night having to chase after the ball! Correct.

Makes it a much better chant when you add the extra couple of dimensions. Maybe I'm talking bollocks though and we should rush through our songbook at a million miles an hour all the time as per.
