Bilbo Posted 28 September 2010 Posted 28 September 2010 although i totally agree with you, i would warn you that comments such as this are liable for an absolute mauling by most people on here- the general opinion seems to be that we wouldnt have been better off with Pearson, Sousa should be fired, we shouldnt try to get MON back as manager, and Santa Cruz is going to single handedly save us all. so all in all the forum has come up with an excellent plan of action. Ha cheers for the warning! It baffles me how certain fans have turned on Pearson with what he did for the club - I went to every home game while he was in charge and I'm not saying he wasn't without his faults but he knew what it took to achieve well in the Championship and certainly had the contacts and tactics needed to get Leicester where they belong to be ie fighting at the top for promotion.
Kitchandro Posted 28 September 2010 Posted 28 September 2010 With money and his scouting team, we would have been up there, no doubt!! We had momentum with Pearson which I don't think would have stopped until we got to the Prem. I know people talk about boring football but the last game I saw was home win against Middlesbrough and we passed it around a treat! AND we won 2-0. Sacking.... and that what is was at the end of the day... was a huge hugeeeeeeee mistake!!!! He will get Hull winning again and in to a competitive force. As for us... well who knows. I'm hoping we dont get another manager merry go round Spot on. Pearson was a good manager, his 2 season's of success were no fluke. The Thais should have realised that Pearson being in charge was in their best interests. Not sure they're happy with Sousa now are they? I'm absolutely convinced that we would finish in the play-offs again with Pearson in charge. Our team on it's day is as good as any in this league.
Bilbo Posted 28 September 2010 Posted 28 September 2010 My main worry with Sousa is that the team that played so well together for two seasons is falling apart - IMO it takes years to get a team to play as a unit (look at Middlesborough) and be a real contender for Premiership football and I don't want the quality players we do have to leave the club.

Pure quality thinking

Apart from King and Hobbs who else is there?
Kitchandro Posted 28 September 2010 Posted 28 September 2010 Apart from King and Hobbs who else is there? So you think we were crap last year and have crap players apart from 2? I for one would be gutted if we lost any of Hobbs, Weale, Berner, King, Wellens, Waghorn, Dyer. Fryatt or Gallagher. Not saying they are all Premiership standard but all important players for us who did well last season.

Bilbo Posted 28 September 2010 Posted 28 September 2010 Apart from King and Hobbs who else is there? Dyer - probably one of my favourite players in the team - works hard, good pace and scares defenders (contracts don't mean anything in football) Morrison - having a bad start - but at right back he was solid last season Weale - Quality keeper Fryatt - Say what you will - when he is at the top of his game is a goal scorer - all that a striker needs to be And like you say King and Hobbs - most teams in the Championship would love players with this level of quality

Fryatt, yes his 1in 5 goal ratio in the Championship is top drawer right up there with Boothroyd and Chopra. When Dyer performs in the middle part of the season then perhaps, but I will give him this, he and his agent played a blinder getting a 4 year deal.
Kitchandro Posted 28 September 2010 Posted 28 September 2010 I'll give you Weale and Waghorn, the rest particularly Wellens and Fryatt are shite. This sums you up.

It was about 1 in 3. Pretty decent. Oh, and it's Bothroyd, not Boothroyd. Why is it so hard to get this right?

Haha, mate it must be hard supporting a team you hate.
HonradaRaposa Posted 28 September 2010 Posted 28 September 2010 er, where are you getting this from? It was about 1 in 3. Pretty decent. Oh, and it's Bothroyd, not Boothroyd. Why is it so hard to get this right? The clue was the word Championship

Kitchandro Posted 28 September 2010 Posted 28 September 2010 The clue was the word Championship Yes, in the Championship it was 1 in 3.
h1210 Posted 28 September 2010 Posted 28 September 2010 23 in 110, as good as 1 in 5 for me *At the start of this season
Kitchandro Posted 28 September 2010 Posted 28 September 2010 23 in 110, as good as 1 in 5 for me What's this?
h1210 Posted 28 September 2010 Posted 28 September 2010 What's this? His record in the Championship, he has been here 5 years
Kitchandro Posted 28 September 2010 Posted 28 September 2010 *At the start of this season You're saying he had scored 23 goals for Leicester before the start of this season? Firstly, not true. Secondly, his goals to games ratio has improved since Pearson came to the club and YES that's in the Championship as well. His strike rate was 1 in 3 last season

Kitchandro Posted 28 September 2010 Posted 28 September 2010 So you'd be OK with our best goalscorer leaving the club then? To be replaced by whom? Granted Fryatt has not been himself this season but I think that's largely down to Sousa being a dick
Alexikokopops Posted 28 September 2010 Posted 28 September 2010 Yes, in the Championship it was 1 in 3. Before this season: 2006-07: games 32, goals 3 2007-08: games 29, goals 2 2009-10: games 31, goals 12 Total: 92 games, goals 17 1 goal every 5.4 games I've only included Championship games and goals in those figures.
