MikeyT Posted 27 September 2010 Posted 27 September 2010 Well then, a so called journalist has simply used foxestalk as his source to post this story - I guess we should be flattered, but it tells us nothing new. Although, with the story now being 'out there' it makes it harder for a Chairman to ignore the possibility of pulling the trigger, especially considering Milan's twitchy fingers. The players will also see this story, so essentially Sousa's fate is in their hands - if there is a lack luster performance on Tuesday, i think that will tell you whether the players back him or not. Exactly what i thought.
i hate cov Posted 27 September 2010 Posted 27 September 2010 http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Leicester-manager-Paulo-Sousa-is-on-the-brink-of-the-sack-with-Milan-Mandaric-ready-to-replace-the-Portuguese-boss-article588669.html Paulo Sousa is scrapping to save his job at Leicester - just EIGHT games into the season. Sousa is on the brink of the sack at the Walkers Stadium, with rumours growing last night that he had been fired by Milan Mandaric. It is understood that Sousa will remain in charge for tomorrow night's trip to Norwich. But Foxes chairman Mandaric is ready to take action after the club's dreadful start to the season, with Alan Pardew's name already in the frame. Sousa has won only one game since his appointment in the summer, with the shocking 6-1 defeat to Portsmouth sending them spinning to the bottom of the Championship. The 40-year-old's methods have also come under fire from the squad, with at least two players understood to have slapped in transfer requests before the transfer window closed. Leicester were beaten in the play-off semi-finals by Cardiff last season but have only beaten the Bluebirds this term. Please no.
Ric Flair Posted 27 September 2010 Posted 27 September 2010 How has he not ben sacked yet? Our board might think that another game won't make much difference to our season but it's just throwing 3 points away. Sousa is a dead man walking, I called this whole farce over a month ago and people thought I was a nutjob. Things haven't felt right from the start, he's the worst appointment this club has made in the 20 years i've been a fan. Disgusting and completely unacceptable. They must act fast if we have any chance of staying up. Alan Pardew or Tony Mowbray are my choices and both have enough about them to perhaps save us, but what a mess we find ourselves in. The 6-1 defeats we've felt under Micky Adams and Peter Taylor were bad, as was te 7-1 nailing against Newcastle but Friday nights debacle was beyond words and the stark contrast from the battling displays seen under Pearson last season (I am aware we were only 1 goal off that scoreline against Forest last season but it wasn't anywhere near as bad and more of a freak result) Stick your 2 Champions League medals up your fookin arse. Get out.
DB11 Posted 27 September 2010 Posted 27 September 2010 Erm can anyone summarise 17 pages please? Couple of posters claiming he is gone. Burt says board losing patience and he has 2 games max to save his neck Thanks!
jonthefox Posted 27 September 2010 Posted 27 September 2010 Erm can anyone summarise 17 pages please? Thanks! nobody knows, but everyones hoping.

cc_star Posted 27 September 2010 Posted 27 September 2010 Doubt it was him very much, he's not exactly Sousa's biggest fan. Which begs the question: Who is Sousa's biggest fan? ?
Webbo Posted 27 September 2010 Posted 27 September 2010 Which begs the question: Who is Sousa's biggest fan? ? Stringer's just said he was a genius.

unreachable Posted 27 September 2010 Posted 27 September 2010 Stringer's just said he was a genius. Stringer also said that Sousa was "potentially" a good manager but wasn't now. Try and work out that logic!

The 6-1 defeat at Ipswich was a complete fluke we only lost 4 all season apart from that and gained promotion although in administration and I think we made the play offs or got promoted the year we lost 7-1 at Newcastle and he is not as bad as Taylor but could be if given any money
teblin Posted 27 September 2010 Posted 27 September 2010 Steve Howard, chris Powell etc are potentially good managers too i guess.

richardsfoxes Posted 27 September 2010 Posted 27 September 2010 Sack him, I came into this season with so much optimism and we get this. None of the players look interested, he's lost the dressing room. Good players such as Fryatt, Hobbs, Morrison, Wellens, Weale. They dont just become bad players, Specially Morrison and Hobbs, they look nothing like the players i saw last year, too think that Fryatt nearly scored one the best goals ive ever seen against newcastle, like someone said in a earlier post. Shadows of the former selfs, when paulo joined this club, i remember a key quote "I wont change much of this team". Yet paulo, you have changed everything, ive seen a team with so much hunger, enthusiasm, talent and passion from last season turn to this garbage. Bet Hobbs is eating his words now, "I want to do great things here and become a future captain"....Bring back Martin.
topharry123 Posted 27 September 2010 Posted 27 September 2010 I think he should go. He's leaving out our best players from last year. hobbs, wellens and Fryatt were all pretty much guaranteed a starting place last year. Now they're benched? The players we've brought in aren't good enough to push them out (though Abe does looks a class act) so i don't understand why he is leaving them out. It's causing lack of confidence in the team and key players wanting a move away. Sven is still available let's get him in! (maybe not but he'd be better than sousa!)

Bilbo Posted 28 September 2010 Posted 28 September 2010 I've just seen this extract from an article in the Leicester Mecury today regarding Sousa's future "His predecessor, Nigel Pearson, had not foreseen his own departure because he had drawn up his transfer targets and had begun to plan the pre-season programme." Would have loved to have seen how we were doing if Nigel Pearson had been in charge this season - third from top probably.

We had momentum with Pearson which I don't think would have stopped until we got to the Prem. I know people talk about boring football but the last game I saw was home win against Middlesbrough and we passed it around a treat! AND we won 2-0. Sacking.... and that what is was at the end of the day... was a huge hugeeeeeeee mistake!!!! He will get Hull winning again and in to a competitive force. As for us... well who knows. I'm hoping we dont get another manager merry go round
