Kent Posted 26 September 2010 Posted 26 September 2010 and stringer said that the fosse boys were a portugese contingent... Haha when did he say that?
Ozwin Posted 26 September 2010 Posted 26 September 2010 Stringer says he's not been sacked so end of. For all we know Stringer's been told to say that by the BBC and or LCFC.
wurmer Posted 26 September 2010 Posted 26 September 2010 Given what's been said by Bert, should get 2 games etc, it's all heading towards Hull on October 16th and a certain Nigel Pearson to finish him off. Bert also said "should" and put it in bold.... sounds like he isn't 100% sure tbh
Tuna Posted 26 September 2010 Posted 26 September 2010 For all we know Stringer's been told to say that by the BBC and or LCFC. In which case, why say anything at all? He has no need to involve himself in speculation unless to quell it if it isn't true.
Bert Posted 26 September 2010 Posted 26 September 2010 Bert also said "should" and put it in bold.... sounds like he isn't 100% sure tbh Or the fact that things can change in a minute maybe and nothing is ever guarenteed?
foxoffderby Posted 26 September 2010 Posted 26 September 2010 Who the fook is seattleshane? As much as I would like Sousa to piss off now I don't think it will happen untill after the Norwich game. I simply don't think the board has had enough time to find a replacement, however I do think they are seeking a replacement due to a) losing the dressing room b) losing the majority of fans.
Guest BlueBrett Posted 26 September 2010 Posted 26 September 2010 Haha when did he say that? I think it was just before the Middlesborough game
Kent Posted 26 September 2010 Posted 26 September 2010 Or the fact that things can change in a minute maybe and nothing is ever guarenteed? Yeah I was going to say, probably more the fact that a lot can happen between now and 2+ games time.
1964FOX Posted 26 September 2010 Posted 26 September 2010 Haha when did he say that? During the commentry at the Sunderland friendly. Just goes to show how rumours can start, us portugese, I dont think so me duck.
Kilworthfox Posted 26 September 2010 Posted 26 September 2010 Or the fact that things can change in a minute maybe and nothing is ever guarenteed? Dude, without spilling all the beans, behind the scenes what do u believe or know are some of the major issues which some people (may) have become upset by?
Chrysalis Posted 26 September 2010 Posted 26 September 2010 Hmm, not quite sure what I want, for two reasons... 1. There is no guarentee that if we get rid of him things would get better, also, who are we honestly capable of signing as manager? 2. If he goes now the new guy will have lots of time to sort things, and will probably have a better relationship with the players. I really don't know what to think about this nothing is guarantueed in football it is all about gambles. however odds are a new manager would improve things. we not just talking defeats here but we have yet to score first and have been at least 3-0 down in numerous games already.
Bert Posted 26 September 2010 Posted 26 September 2010 Dude, without spilling all the beans, behind the scenes what do u believe or know are some of the major issues which some people (may) have become upset by? Training regimes, chopping an changing, tactics, style of play....
Kilworthfox Posted 26 September 2010 Posted 26 September 2010 Training regimes, chopping an changing, tactics, style of play.... Ok cheers. I can only comment on what i can see, & players like Waggy on the wing probably aint popular, & maybe the players are not comfortable with a possesion & passing game?
Salieri Posted 26 September 2010 Posted 26 September 2010 Does anyone know for definite which players (if any) put in transfer requests?
Fez of Mahrez Posted 26 September 2010 Posted 26 September 2010 Just because it hasn't happened yet doesn't mean it's not on the cards. I think all these rumours are, at the very least, an indication of Sousa's standing with whoever is making the decisions at the moment. There's often no smoke without fire where under-performing football managers are concerned, as Bert's post suggests. Without all this, there would be no idea of whether he was still trusted 100% by the new owners or not. After all, we've only really played extremely poorly in patches. For other periods, we've played very well. Some people have said Sousa's style or formation doesn't work in this division - that's rubbish. There are plenty of examples of passing, single-striker teams getting promoted, Blackpool being the most recent example. Our players have been used to playing a different way for two years though and it's telling that the best we have played so far this season was at the start of the second half against Cardiff when it was reminiscent of how we played under Pearson - high-tempo stuff with the emphasis on getting the ball in the box from wide areas as quickly as possible. I still retain more trust in Sousa to get it right than 95% of fans by the looks of things, although I'm not saying he definitely will - or even be given the chance. The most worrying thing is the idea that some of our important young players, who were brilliant last year, are becoming unsettled. After years of the likes of Andy Johnson and Jason Jarrett, players like Hobbs, King, Gallagher and even Fryatt to a lesser extent feel a lot more important to keep hold of.
jonw88 Posted 26 September 2010 Posted 26 September 2010 Hate to say it, but we were warned about all of this before the start of the season by that Swansea guy. All seems to be coming true now
Kitchandro Posted 26 September 2010 Posted 26 September 2010 It's not the passing style that isn't working, it's the team selection, formation and defending which is worrying. The passing game has shown signs of working - against Coventry and Cardiff. Other than that though we've been awful in quite a few games and average at best in the rest.
Jakemoore Posted 26 September 2010 Posted 26 September 2010 Keep your knickers on lee hoos Sorry for providing information, I'll keep it to myself next time
hackneyfox Posted 26 September 2010 Posted 26 September 2010 Why would there be a problem with changing tactics, isn't that called Plans B & C? If some of the players aren't happy and have handed in transfer requests, due to playing passing football, then they can go. Keegan Noooooooooooooooooo Serial quitter But I'd take him before Chris Powell If all the players like him hen he isn't the right man. If Sousa goes we need someone with expreience. And managers like O'Neill never go back to a club like us. Sean O'Driscoll
wurmer Posted 26 September 2010 Posted 26 September 2010 Or the fact that things can change in a minute maybe and nothing is ever guarenteed? Indeed.

hackneyfox Posted 26 September 2010 Posted 26 September 2010 Fryatt has hardly proved himself as first choice striker, none of them have. If they aren't willing to work for their place then they can do one. A club should NEVER give in to player power By all means talk to the players but remember that they are looking out for themselves. See Clough and Leeds

Maybe the case in the division - but it certainly doesn't suit us.
Jackirius Posted 26 September 2010 Posted 26 September 2010 Sorry for providing information, I'll keep it to myself next time Please do when it is BS.
Kitchandro Posted 26 September 2010 Posted 26 September 2010 Fryatt has hardly proved himself as first choice striker, none of them have. If they aren't willing to work for their place then they can do one. A club should NEVER give in to player power By all means talk to the players but remember that they are looking out for themselves. See Clough and Leeds Even if the players are more valuable than the manager? After all, the players that were here last season did the job, it's Sousa who's come in and all of a sudden we're shit. I admit Fryatt has looked poor but he needs games and a strike partner. If DJ (who's showed NO commitment to the club) hadn't been picked ahead of him even though he was being sold anyway, maybe that would have helped? Seemed an unneccessary confidence knock to me. Same with dropping Hobbs and Wellens. Point is I'd rather keep our best players than Sousa, who has shown nothing to say he's useful to us.
