I want us to lose to S****horpe

I want us to lose to S****horpe, what a stupid statement.

Please do not come to the Walkers on Saturday, please stop making ridiculous comments and go and support a glory team like Chelsea and then your team will win almost every week. I reckon our players would love to know that some of their fans want them to lose, what wonderful motivation and don't dare excuse it with 'it's better for us in the long run if we lose and PS gets sacked'. Why are you convinced sacking a manager will suddenly make everything better. Introducing a new manager is a gamble, there are no guarantees they will do better than PS and would you want us to lose again if this new fantastic manager didn't turn things around after five games?

Stupid comment, stupid thread.

Because he's shit.

I know he's shit.

You know he's shit.

The players know he's shit.

You say there are no guarantees that he will do better than PS - but there is a guarantee he won't do worse.

Common sense says Paulo needs to go. However, a lot of fans are aware that Mandaric and the Thais have no common sense whatsoever when it comes to football. That is why they hope we will lose, because they believe if we don't lose, Sousa will still be here an we will, in the long run, do badly.

Now stop asking why some fans might want us to lose because it is very clear and simple why.

There isn't a guarantee that the new manager (if we get one) won't do worse, for all you know he could get 4 points from 10 games meaning he would be worse. Just pointing out your error.

It's deluded if you want your team to lose.

I'd actually love to see you in Sousa's position and see how you cope with all the pressure on him.

How do you know the players know he's shit? You best mates with all of them?

Common sense says that you should support your team regardless of what the circumstances are. In all the years I've supported Leicester (not many I admit but long enough, and there are plenty of others who have gone through much more than me), I've never heard someone say they want to lose a game. Even in the season we got relegated I don't recall anyone saying we should lose just to rid of the manager.

Can't be arsed to read all this so forgive me if this has already been said. The fact that this has made 4 pages and there seems to be polar opposite views means this thread was worth starting.

That said anyone that wants their own team to lose is a cock.

No chance, I will always challenge any so called fan who wants us to lose. Sousa staying or going is a valid debate, wanting your team to lose is something I could never contemplate and I won't apologise for having that view.

OK fine if you want to split hairs. But we can't be any lower than bottom.

And again, common sense says that if the manager uses common sense (unlike Paulo so far) he will pick up more points than that. It is very likely that he won't do better.

Look, I can see it both ways. Usually of course you always want your team to win, but honestly if we lost on Saturday and Sousa was sacked, I wouldn't be very disappointed. If we win and he still gets sacked, even better. If we lose and he doesn't get (which I'm not denying is a possibility) then that's no good. But he should be.

But I think it's narrow minded not to understand where people are coming from when they say they want to lose.

This is essentially the debate we are having. If we lost and Sousa got sacked, how would you feel?

No, you are narrow minded. I'm not asking you to want us to lose, I'm asking you to understand why others would. If you can't then you're pretty stupid.

Short term loss, long term gain. It's similar to saying you'd sacrifice a season of success so you could see us successful the following season under Paulo's pretty football instead of boring hoofball. Something many on here have said.

It's similar to saying relegation was a blessing in disguise. Something many on here have said.

I support the team, not the manager.

There are numerous other threads debating if Sousa should stay or go, this thread began saying they wanted us to lose an identified single game, this is what I cant get my head around.

To answer your question if we lose and Sousa is sacked then so be it, I would then put my support behind the new manager and our team at the next game against Hull. In my years of support I have severely disliked some of our managers and wanted them out but have never wanted my team to lose.

Ok do you think Sousa should stay or go?

Again, I'm not asking you to agree. If you for example want Sousa to stay, but can understand other people being desperate for him to go (whether you agree or not) then why is it so hard to understand why some might think it would be better for Leicester if we sacrificed one match so Sousa wouldn't be hear anymore?

I just think saying these people aren't real fans or a disgrace is very unfair

It's not similar to the examples you give as it identifies a single game and deliberately wants us to lose it. Short term loss, long term gain would be acceptable in the long run but the idea of deliberately wanting us to do badly at an identified point in time is the issue.

Quite simply because losing on Saturday doesn't guarantee that Sousa would go. What if we lost that game but he stayed and we missed out on the play offs by a couple of points?

His record at the beginning of last year with Swansea wasn't special either (link), and he could have been sacked at any point but he stayed and they ended up as promotion contenders! I know we can't get any lower than bottom, but Souza does have form in this division remember and there is a chance we could stay up, even challenge for promotion! We KNOW that the manager merry-go-round is more harmful in the long run, so don't give me any crap about short term pain, long term gain.

Stick with him I say!

My personal opinion on Sousa is that I like his ideas and if it worked it would be great to watch and good long term for the team. However, as each match goes on he shows that his tactics are very poor and needs to sort this out quickly or MM, the new owners will lose patience and get rid of him. He also does need to learn the impotance of grinding out results to get the points to put us at least mid table so he has scope to experiment and alter the way the team play.

I called them 'so called fans' as I can't imagine wanting to my team to lose. I coud argue that wanting your team to lose is very unfair.

I'm just speaking theoretically.

Now, with regards to comparing it with relegation was a blessing in disguise (something I don't agree with but can understand), here's what i mean

Paulo Sousa is under pressure, no doubt about that. Maybe not from the board, but certainly the fans. A lot of fans think he's one game from the chop - if he loses it, he's gone. Not necessarily true, but some fans feel that way

Now here's the comparison: Say we won on Saturday, Paulo kept his job, but in the end it was only papering over the cracks, and we got relegated. (Remember I'm being theoretical). At the end of the season, would it be wrong to think:

Maybe if we'd have lost that Scunny game, Paulo would have had the sack and we could have saved ourselves

Conversely: we lose the Scunny game, Sousa gets sacked, a new manager comes in and our defence looks a lot better very quickly, confidence returns, and we go on to achieve...lets say top half. Or play-offs if you like.

Now then wouldn't you say losing to Scunny was a blessing in disguise?

Remember, it's theoretical, those events may not happen, I'm aware of that.
