That'll hardly make him feel wanted.
talkfoxes.com Posted 5 October 2010 Posted 5 October 2010 Wilfried Zaha played great against Leicester back in August for Palace. Lee Hendrie wouldn't be a bad call!

Guest ttfn Posted 5 October 2010 Posted 5 October 2010 We don't need loads of new players. If anything that will make things worse. We could do with a right back and a right midfielder, and possibly a central midfield player. That is it. We don't even necessarily need another centre mid. King and Wellens are both very decent players at this level, Abe has shown decent glimpses and Oakley is decent back-up in the Championship. We certainly don't need another striker. A 'goalscorer' seems to be the number 1 demand here at the moment. But we have 3 very decent forwards in the squad fighting over 1 place (although under Eriksson maybe 2) up front, with Gallagher capable of stepping in if needs be. A striker is the last thing we need. EDIT: If you put me on the spot, we should be looking at: Greg Halford Richard Stearman Michael Johnson would be a dream Mark Davies Jimmy Kebe
Jackirius Posted 5 October 2010 Posted 5 October 2010 Sean St Ledger was linked with the club a few months ago Shame he is crap.
talkfoxes.com Posted 5 October 2010 Posted 5 October 2010 I remember the season we got relegated we had too many players.
Finnegan Posted 5 October 2010 Posted 5 October 2010 Nobody mentioned Robbie Earnshaw yet? This is a monumental moment in my FT posting career, but I need to say this... "Past his best."

Lillehamring Posted 5 October 2010 Posted 5 October 2010 Sven is looking at bringing a player called Guido Marilungo plays for Sampdoria on loan thats all i can sat atm. on his wiki International careerOn 8 September, 2009 he made his debut with the Italy U-21 team in a game against Luxembourg. In October 2010 the Leicester City Fansite Foxestalk claimed that Guido was going to sign on loan until the end of the season. Even though there was no evidence at all and his name had been plucked out of thin air .
Lillehamring Posted 5 October 2010 Posted 5 October 2010 it goes to show how much of a rut we are in, with the same old nPC and failed prem players being mentioned. i would expect the foreign influence to continue with the money the thais seem willing to spend and sven at the helm.
Guest NGoloMode Posted 5 October 2010 Posted 5 October 2010 Jimmy Kebe Kebe on one side and Dyer on the other. Ohhhhhh

But we have 3 very decent forwards in the squad fighting over 1 place (although under Eriksson maybe 2) up front, with Gallagher capable of stepping in if needs be. A striker is the last thing we need. I would have thought a striker would be quite crucial. Gallaghers performances last season revealed him to be a player who works best as part of a front 3/ winger (depending on whether you thought we played 4-3-3 or 4-5-1), not an out and out striker capable of scoring plenty of goals, he scores a few screamers but he needs to score more regularly (be them 2 yard tap ins or 45 yard pearlers) to be effective up front. Waghorn is an industrious lil fella who puts the hard work in and pops up with a fair few but isn't that prolific and can also be fairly jittery with his finishing (see the one on one about an hour in on saturday for proof) Howard works hard and his passion can help get us going again but he's penalised far too often when challenging in the air and again doesn't score all that many instead creating space for others, Fryatt is a fairly instictive striker but can be too selfish and sometimes struggles to produce an end product. With a full season, playing reguarly he could probably hit 15 but with gallagher and Howard unlikely to reach more than 10 and waghorn likely to reach at most 15, we are reliant on the midfielders & defence to chip in, the defence hardly scores at the moment, in midfield only king and dyer tend to get goals with oakley and wellens too slow on the ball, not seen much of abe but i doubt he offers a considerable goal scoring threat and the likes of Moussa, N'Guessan and co are unlikely to figure heavily. So with around about 6 regular goalscorers in the squad, should we hit an injury crisis and 3/4 of these end up missing games, we have to rely on the rest of the squad and the youth team to step up to the plate and keep us firing. And that notion is far too risky to entertain by keeping the squad as it is and relying on those 6 to carry the team, goal wise. Therefore we bring in either: 1/2 midfielders with an eye for goal, a prolific striker or a combination of the two.
MC Prussian Posted 5 October 2010 Posted 5 October 2010 I wish we could buy stability with £10m - or preferably less than that... On a serious note, a quality right-back, a decent back-up for Bruno Berner on the left, a proper right winger and a quality striker would do for me. That and a real-deal captain and/or someone who's actually good at taking free-kicks. Having said that, I expect some of our current players to step up to the plate and deliver after the Thai trip.
North-LondonFox Posted 5 October 2010 Posted 5 October 2010 I think we should get Kyle Naughton on loan from Spurs at right back and buy the kid Mark Davies from Bolton - I thought he was fantastic for us. Then get a big Heskey type Striker from somewhere - like Howard but a bit more agile.
Ozwin Posted 5 October 2010 Posted 5 October 2010 Where has this £10M figure come from? I havn't seen a link or anything yet.
