Heskey2011 Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 Wayne Brown is barely a professional footballer, i've seen better on Hinckley pitches over summer holidays!
mancunianfox Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 simon cox is good Isn't he getting on and doing well for West Brom?
conradno1 Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 my boss is a baggies season ticket holder he says he is not gettin that much playing time cuming on last 20 i reckon
Leicester_Loyal Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 Wayne Brown is barely a professional footballer, i've seen better on Hinckley pitches over summer holidays! Look at the amount of goals we've conceded in our first 10 games compared to the last 10 games of last season. He was brilliant in the air.
AaronH Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 4 million worth more than that, what about lansbury
Wymsey Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 4 million worth more than that, what about lansbury Doubt it, Arsenal only loaned him out to get him to gain more match time experience - They don't want to sell him.
The Doctor Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 Truthfully, one thing Sven will have already acquired over Paulo is the respect - as people know his credentials as a Manager in the squad, so not to be disrespectful to our team's intellegence levels - but I think between Sven and Paulo, more would know who Sven is. Therefore, they will wish to impress him. However, there are a number of positions I think we need to strengthen in. One is our goalkeeping position. I know people will defend Chris Weale and even Conrad at times - but when you look at those who are more than likely serious title contenders, all of them have a well known, household name, top draw keeper. For example, Paddy Kenny at QPR. Lee Camp at The Tree Huggers. Even Andy Longergon at Preston is top drawer despite their league position. It hasn't been a strength of ours since (hate to say this) Ian Walker left us. So, job one for Sven is to get in a top quality keeper - i.e. Cudicini at Tottenham! Number two, a Centre Back. For me, and probably most of you this season, Jack and Michael haven't yet been at their best, but out of the two I would say Jack is still the stronger. Therefore, we either put Michael onto the bench so he can gain some more maturity as a player, whilst still being in and around the squad or just move him across to the right as seems to be a general consensus. Who though do I think we should look at as a potential target? Look no further than Chris Rigott! Now some of you maybe thinking, why? I remember watching him play for Derby against us in the final season at our much loved Filbert Street and I tell you something, if he still has something close to that level now he could still have something. Otherwise, look for a loanee from the Premier League as most clubs in that league like an established centre back pairing. Onto the midfield, and we need at least one more experienced head on the right hand side. Now I have heard the name David Beckham scurting around, but in all seriousness, Milan are the more likely to capture his signiture (alas). So, once more - who is a realistic target from the Premiership or any league I know of? I think you couldn't do much worse than Shaun Maloney at Celtic! The reason I say him rather than most is that Celtic, like Rangers - have recently been looking to offload players in a wage recontrustion system. So he is a realistic target for us with the sort of money we have been apparently given from Top, as stated in the Media. Finally, a striker! A tall one at that! In my opinion, at least for this level, we missed a trick in not signing Marlon Harewood - can anyone remember what he did at Newcastle last season? However, with those who may come avaliable in January, I would not look shabbily at maybe Jon Parkin at Preston. Now I know he is their first choice striker, but he does have a consistantly good ratio in this league and with someone like Waggy or Matty, maybe shall be the key to getting us up and out of this league! Whoever we sign though, we shall always be Leicester City! Christ. Riggott and Parkin are terrible and while maloney would, on paper, be a good signing, as many have pointed out he struggled at villa, partly down to homesickness and we aren't all that much closer than villa are so i'd expect he'd suffer from homesickness here as well. Oh and we didn't miss a trick by not going in for harewood, he did nothing at newcastle last season, he did nothing at villa before that, he's done next to nothing his entire career.
talkfoxes.com Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 I think James Armson of Nuneaton Boro deserves a trial at Leicester & very good player. As football future ahead of him
Christoph Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 Wayne Brown, I imagine. Aye, by that I mean just a nice big strong guy who can head it and hoof it out when sh*t hits the fans
dandannieldanok Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 Christ. Parkin may be totally unfit, but he's no way a terrible player. He's scored more than our strikers, in a team struggling just as much as us. Yes we can probably do better, but Parkin is by no means a bad player.
mancunianfox Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 I think James Armson of Nuneaton Boro deserves a trial at Leicester & very good player. As football future ahead of him Hi James
Salieri Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 We're going to sign players with a view to them playing for us in the prem. Not sign players to get us up, then spend another £10million plus on players that will keep us up. Exactly the way it should be too,now we have a bit of cash to spend.
Clazie Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 Adam Le Fondre? Not only is he good in real life, he's fooking quality of FIFA.
Stueyt74 Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 Is Sam Vokes a bad shout? Remember him being quite decent.
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 We need to improve our first 11 not sign just squad players, too many signings lately have just been to flesh out our squad. I would sooner buy 2 players who will go straight into the first team rather than 5 who will be occasional players.
acooling08 Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 Who says you can't sing quality, we've spunked £5m on Akinbiyi, £1m on Benjamin, £1m on Wellens, £1m on Howard, £3m on Scowcroft that's £11m on shite, price tags mean nothing. We need to improve the overall quality of the squad Weale, Hobbs, King, Waghorn, Berner and Vitor are fine, the rest are not up to it. Well worth the million.
