cambridgefox Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 Dont know if im being daft, but what about a cheeky bid for Chris Kirkland, not getting in the Wigan team, and is he not from Leics? sorry if this has been mentioned as i have not browsed all the pages.
poopbutt Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 why do people on here constantly use the term "cheeky bid" and i believe he's from nuneaton
cambridgefox Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 why do people on here constantly use the term "cheeky bid" and i believe he's from nuneaton Because,he has been in the England squad in recent history, meaning it is probable he wont come to Leicester, but there is no harm putting a bid in to test the water eg a "cheeky bid" and i do believe he was born in Barwell!
Alexikokopops Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 I would join you! Do I smell a game of soggy biscuit
shade Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 fernando torres told me he would love to play under sven, he said he would also buy out his own contract so he could join us !
maddog Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 Were gonna get Carlos Vela on loan. They got history
The Doctor Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 fernando torres told me he would love to play under sven, he said he would also buy out his own contract so he could join us ! not been in the greatest of form recently, i'm going to have to say no.
adamkhalifa Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 We should get Williams from Swansea, move Morrison to the right. Give the current players a chance (Abe, Mossa especially) As for the striker, I got a funny feeling that Fryatt will be right down SGE favourite player list.
ian the fox Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 Thank god Sousa never hung on to blow the money on a couple of tossers from Swansea !!!
toblerone Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 why do people on here constantly use the term "cheeky bid" and i believe he's from nuneaton He's actually from barwell, he's a friend of the family
OutFoxing-Cov-Since1884 Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 Truthfully, one thing Sven will have already acquired over Paulo is the respect - as people know his credentials as a Manager in the squad, so not to be disrespectful to our team's intellegence levels - but I think between Sven and Paulo, more would know who Sven is. Therefore, they will wish to impress him. However, there are a number of positions I think we need to strengthen in. One is our goalkeeping position. I know people will defend Chris Weale and even Conrad at times - but when you look at those who are more than likely serious title contenders, all of them have a well known, household name, top draw keeper. For example, Paddy Kenny at QPR. Lee Camp at The Tree Huggers. Even Andy Longergon at Preston is top drawer despite their league position. It hasn't been a strength of ours since (hate to say this) Ian Walker left us. So, job one for Sven is to get in a top quality keeper - i.e. Cudicini at Tottenham! Number two, a Centre Back. For me, and probably most of you this season, Jack and Michael haven't yet been at their best, but out of the two I would say Jack is still the stronger. Therefore, we either put Michael onto the bench so he can gain some more maturity as a player, whilst still being in and around the squad or just move him across to the right as seems to be a general consensus. Who though do I think we should look at as a potential target? Look no further than Chris Rigott! Now some of you maybe thinking, why? I remember watching him play for Derby against us in the final season at our much loved Filbert Street and I tell you something, if he still has something close to that level now he could still have something. Otherwise, look for a loanee from the Premier League as most clubs in that league like an established centre back pairing. Onto the midfield, and we need at least one more experienced head on the right hand side. Now I have heard the name David Beckham scurting around, but in all seriousness, Milan are the more likely to capture his signiture (alas). So, once more - who is a realistic target from the Premiership or any league I know of? I think you couldn't do much worse than Shaun Maloney at Celtic! The reason I say him rather than most is that Celtic, like Rangers - have recently been looking to offload players in a wage recontrustion system. So he is a realistic target for us with the sort of money we have been apparently given from Top, as stated in the Media. Finally, a striker! A tall one at that! In my opinion, at least for this level, we missed a trick in not signing Marlon Harewood - can anyone remember what he did at Newcastle last season? However, with those who may come avaliable in January, I would not look shabbily at maybe Jon Parkin at Preston. Now I know he is their first choice striker, but he does have a consistantly good ratio in this league and with someone like Waggy or Matty, maybe shall be the key to getting us up and out of this league! Whoever we sign though, we shall always be Leicester City!
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 If Tunchev is never going to be fit I would say we desperately need a CB and a RB, Hutton was a very good shout but he is back in the Spurs team at the mo, someone up front who can score would be nice but sort the defence out first.
goal-mangal Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 Henri Lansbury, and an experienced centre-back.

OutFoxing-Cov-Since1884 Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 So with a budget of 10 million you would buy Chris Riggott, Shaun Maloney and Jon Parkin??? Yes. And I tell you why. Because in all seriousness, until we are in the Premiership we will not be able to acquire TOP players - even with Sven here. Look at Man City. That first season, I remember one of their signings say; I have no idea who they are, all I know is they have money. They have money mate. Millions more than we probably ever will have. I don't want us to go down the pan again, that's all. Build slowly...

I don't want us to go down the pan again, that's all. Build slowly... I agree with being realistic but I don't see how they are better than what we have here already. I don't want us to splash out too much cash either and I doubt we will spend anything close to ten million. I would prefer that we used the loan system to bring in good quality younger players and maybe spend some cash to try and get some more experience in the defense. You can bring in quality without spending a lot of money, especially if you have the contacts Eriksson no doubt has.

I'm all for small steps but i think the idea of spending 10 mill is to add a few quality players, not 3 more squad players in a squad full of squad players already thanks to Paulo.
Chrysalis Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 wellens aint shit but I think we overpaid for him.
dandannieldanok Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 Shaun Maloney would be decent for our level, we're in the championship remember not the the champions league.
Finnegan Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 He'd get into a midtable prem side and he's not likely to leave Celtic again without good reason.
Bert Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 We're going to sign players with a view to them playing for us in the prem. Not sign players to get us up, then spend another £10million plus on players that will keep us up.
gibraltarfox Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 Maloney's undoubtedly got ability and could be a very good championship player. When he was at Villa with O'Neill and Petrov around him he struggled for form due to homesickness and spent half his time on the bench though. Celtic would be looking for around 5 mill for him, he blatantly wouldn't settle here then we'd end up selling him back at a loss in a year or 2. He would be a dreadful signing IMO.
Christoph Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 A good centre back (preferable bald and white again), a fast winger who can use both feet not just one like dyer, one more good striker (sell fryatt and chip in enough money for a good striker)
