dave_the_fox Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 Jimmy kebe Nicky Maynard Err and a centre half and right back
Soar Fox Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 Ebanks Blake Jay spearing Curtis davies (if fit) Ryan Taylor
Lillehamring Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 We're going to sign players with a view to them playing for us in the prem. Not sign players to get us up, then spend another £10million plus on players that will keep us up. exactly, and with sven at the helm we will be able to attract at least one or two such players. it's amazing that people are still shouting out the names of players who might have been on our radar 2 or 3 years ago. we've moved on, i would not be surprised if we sign at least one established overseas player that no one has even considered, and i'm not talking about past it players like davids or pires.
sdb Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 Ebanks Blake Jay spearing Curtis davies (if fit) Ryan Taylor they're decent shouts. a lot of people suggesting players that would either a)not drop to this level or b)aren't very good
Jackirius Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 Ebanks Blake Jay spearing Curtis davies (if fit) Ryan Taylor Ryan Anthony Taylor (born 19 August 1984) is a British footballer who plays for Newcastle United of the Premier League. His position is a defender. Taylor is one of the handful of players that have hit the crossbar on Soccer AM's Crossbar Challenge. Sign him up now!
Prospero Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 Alex Herbert, who is already on our books, should be brought on as a striker. Despite his youth, if he is good enough for Real Madrid he is good enough to play for his home team. However, there are conflicting accounts about his possible demise and subsequent deletion from the squad, only to be contradicted by other rumours that he still on the team sheet and that rival clubs are providing misinformation about not only his ability but his very existence. A poster on this site met Wellens and Gallagher on the London Underground between Euston and Kings Cross on their way to Thailand but Herbert was not with them (they are good friends?). It would be unfortunate if Alex was passed over for more expensive signings if he can do a good job for us.
Ric Flair Posted 7 October 2010 Posted 7 October 2010 Ryan Taylor is a quality shout actually. He can hit a pill. Only seems to be getting a look in at Newcastle in Carling Cup matches.
teblin Posted 7 October 2010 Posted 7 October 2010 I wouldn't be surprised if Vassell came in on a free. Sven liked him for England and he played under him at Man City too. Still only 30 if he still has some pace he might be a useful squad addition. I'd have thought Sven will already know the back 4 is the issue and will be looking at a centre back to bring in already.

To be fair i'd be happy with that. We seriously lack pace, the only speed we have in the team is Dyer and occasionally N'Guessan. Vassell would give us another option and he can also play wide right, which is a bonus. He's worth a years deal.
mancunianfox Posted 7 October 2010 Posted 7 October 2010 Agree with whoever said Ryan Taylor. One of the few suggested so far who would be an improvement on what we have already. Not that keen on Vassell, although he has played at a much higher level and isn't that old. Would be interested to know why he hasn't managed to find a club.

There's a few players that haven't found clubs yet that surprises me. The likes of Shittu, DeMerit, Vassell and others. It's the first season this has happened. I know football is changing, but are these boys asking for too much and un-willing to drop down levels?
Ric Flair Posted 7 October 2010 Posted 7 October 2010 Would David Bentley be a realistic target? I know there'd be no end of Premiership clubs after him if were allowed to leave, but we could perhaps steal him on loan before January and who knows?

It's the first season this has happened. I know football is changing, but are these boys asking for too much and un-willing to drop down levels? DeMerit is holding out for a deal in a top league. Not sure if he has cottoned on to nobody in a top league thinks he's good enough. Shittu and Vassell are mysteries to me. Maybe health problems? Thats the only thing that springs to mind. Fully fit both are potentially good additions to a championship squad. Would David Bentley be a realistic target? I know there'd be no end of Premiership clubs after him if were allowed to leave, but we could perhaps steal him on loan before January and who knows? I wouldn't hold your breath on that one, but stranger things have happened in South Wales this season. Spurs must have plenty of players knocking about though the rate Harry spends cash. Is Jamie O'Hara doing anything?
muzzy1981 Posted 7 October 2010 Posted 7 October 2010 Who says you can't sing quality, we've spunked £5m on Akinbiyi, £1m on Benjamin, £1m on Wellens, £1m on Howard, £3m on Scowcroft that's £11m on shite, price tags mean nothing. We need to improve the overall quality of the squad Weale, Hobbs, King, Waghorn, Berner and Vitor are fine, the rest are not up to it. Berner!!!?? He's got the touch of a rapist Dyer and Fryatt can do a job for us too!!
Filbert's Friend Posted 7 October 2010 Posted 7 October 2010 Ebanks-Blake sounds like a good shout Wouldnt mind Shittu either But are they realistic?

I know there'd be no end of Premiership clubs after him if were allowed to leave, but we could perhaps steal him on loan before January and who knows? Would love him here. Always been a fan of his. But doubt it would happen though.
Zingari Posted 7 October 2010 Posted 7 October 2010 I want some big, fit , well organised, blonde Scandinavian types But enough about my fantasies
Dickie Greenleaf Posted 7 October 2010 Posted 7 October 2010 Adam Le Fondre? Not only is he good in real life, he's fooking quality of FIFA. Sorry, can we please use correct terminology. Are you by chance talking about Adam 'the goal machine' LeFondre?
Dickie Greenleaf Posted 7 October 2010 Posted 7 October 2010 I think you will probably get Paul Dickov in some sort of player-assistant manager role. Or maybe Sven will try and rekindle his short-lived dalliance with lee hughes
Manwell Pablo Posted 7 October 2010 Posted 7 October 2010 Me too. There's a few players that haven't found clubs yet that surprises me. The likes of Shittu, DeMerit, Vassell and others. He aint been short of offers he's just being a moron and thinks he is better than he is.
MikeyT Posted 7 October 2010 Posted 7 October 2010 From SSN Derek Fazackerley believes new manager Sven-Goran Eriksson can attract the right players as Leicester look to strengthen their squad. Former England and Manchester City manager Eriksson has hinted he will look at attracting loan recruits from the Premier League. And his assistant Fazackerley confirmed that while they were happy with the players at their disposal, new additions were also likely. "This is a strong squad that reached the play-offs last season," he told the Leicester Mercury. "But a club cannot stand still - the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United talk about strengthening and we are no different here. "We may have to move quickly and see what is available." Fazackerley, speaking on the club's tour of Thailand, believes Eriksson's reputation will count for a lot when trying to bring new players to the Walkers Stadium. He added: "A manager like Sven attracts good players but we have inherited a good squad which has not made a good start."
Bugg Posted 7 October 2010 Posted 7 October 2010 Maybe Fazackerley could try to lure Jordan Rhodes here from Huddersfield. I reckon he's a quality player.
foxoffderby Posted 7 October 2010 Posted 7 October 2010 So were after loan players from the prem. I would like Nathan Eccelstone from Liverpool quality attacking midfield player/forward. Reminds me of a young Kieron Dyer but leftsided.
Jackirius Posted 7 October 2010 Posted 7 October 2010 Berner!!!?? He's got the touch of a rapist Dyer and Fryatt can do a job for us too!! I hope you are joking.
