davieG Posted 5 October 2010 Posted 5 October 2010 Leicester and Wales striker Andy King needs to hit his best form in the coming weeks to impress not one new manager, but two. King is now trying to catch the eye of new bosses for club and country following Sven-Goran Eriksson's appointment by the Foxes and Brian Flynn's elevation to the Wales hotseat. The 21-year-old was named in caretaker manager Flynn's squad for the Euro 2012 qualifiers against Bulgaria and Switzerland over the next week last Friday. That was the same day Paulo Sousa was sacked at the Walkers Stadium and within a day it had emerged that former England manager Eriksson was to take over. King's task begins this week as he trains with Flynn, who steps up from Under-21 boss, ahead of the Bulgaria clash at the Cardiff City Stadium on Friday. King said: "It always feels like a fresh start when a new manager comes in. Brian has probably worked with 80% of the players before, so he is probably more aware than most people about the squad we have got. "Everyone is really looking forward to the two games but we have really got to win one. If we don't get anything out of these next two then we are probably out of the campaign again." Wales lost their opening Group G game in Montenegro last month and John Toshack stepped down as manager soon after. The situation at Leicester was more dramatic as the club axed Sousa after just three months in charge with the team at the bottom of the npower Championship table. King is yet to meet Eriksson but is looking forward to linking up with the Swede and hopefully helping propel the club back towards the play-off position they held last year. "I'm really looking forward to working with him," King said. "You look down his CV and see that he has worked with some great players and great teams. "He is going to be good for us and hopefully he can stamp his authority on our team. Hopefully he will have some new ideas and help us climb the league."

MikeyT Posted 7 October 2010 Posted 7 October 2010 From SSN Leicester and Wales midfielder Andy King is relishing the dual challenge of trying to impress his new bosses at club and country over the coming days. King is looking forward to doing his best for his country after Brian Flynn, who has replaced John Toshack as caretaker manager, named the striker in his squad for the Euro 2012 qualifiers against Bulgaria and Switzerland. The talent starlet is then aiming to make another impact when he returns to the Walkers Stadium from international duty to work with new Leicester boss Sven-Goran Eriksson - who has taken over at the Championship strugglers following Paolo Sousa's exit. King is relishing the opportunity of working with Flynn and knows the importance of getting a result after Wales lost their opening Group G game in Montenegro last month. He said: "It always feels like a fresh start when a new manager comes in. Brian has probably worked with 80 per cent of the players before, so he is probably more aware than most people about the squad we have got.
