fox123 Posted 14 October 2010 Posted 14 October 2010 Does anyone have one? I used to have loads as a kid starting with wired ones and eventually ended up with a petrol RC car. Not had one for years but I decided to get a micro apache from amazon for a bit of fun in the office. I'm contemplating getting a camera installed on it to fly in to forbiddon places Do/did you have a radio controlled vehicle? If so what?
The Doctor Posted 14 October 2010 Posted 14 October 2010 i have several: a bmw z3, a hovercraft and a robot dinosaur. i did have a stunt car which when you crashed rolled over the roll cage and started spinning on the one wheel but my sister drove that down the stairs because she thought it was "indestructable". also fit that with a camera and get snooping.
AmericanScott Posted 14 October 2010 Posted 14 October 2010 I sell them every day If you plan on buying any RC helicopter, make sure it is by Syma and has a Gyro Makes flying them a lot easier and they're more controllable. I've got this bad boy: Syma S107 with Gyro. Got it free from work Also, fox123, the Micro Apache is quite good. Takes time to get used to but it's very fun. And also, you can't fix a mini camera on it. I've tried
Jon the Hat Posted 14 October 2010 Posted 14 October 2010 I built a Tamiya hornet when I was about 14. Great fun. Also had a RC sailing boat, power boat but the battery ran out in about 5 minutes. My dad had several gliders and a Yamamoto training plane. Actually he flies with a club in France now. Edit! Jesus I forgot the remote KIT from Night Rider. Looked cool, not very fast...
stix Posted 14 October 2010 Posted 14 October 2010 Always wanted a remote controlled boat. My mate bought one a few years back when we were working together on site. There was a huge lake on the grounds we were working on in brum so he decided to bring it one day....long story short i took it out too far into the lake, boat lost signal and muggins had to take a dip to retrieve it! Not good. Needless to say i didnt get another go!! Was fun while it lasted though!

Alot of them require batteries, so i made sure I brought one with a rechargeable battery pack!!

I remember entering a competition with Leicester Sound when they used to do the Hi/Low card game (late 80's - early 90's) for a RC Kit. It was in toy to have at the time! I never won it though
Finnegan Posted 15 October 2010 Posted 15 October 2010 I had a few of the classic Tyco dunebuggies as a kid. Always wanted a petrol subaru or a plane but my folks could never afford it. The boats looked cool at Abbey park but I'd have gotten bored I reckon.
Fosse Boy Posted 15 October 2010 Posted 15 October 2010 Used to have a boat as kid. Only ever used it at some boating pool in Sheringham when we were on holiday. Hours of fun to be had though.
Basingstoke Fox Posted 15 October 2010 Posted 15 October 2010 Used to have one of these bad boys. Basically, the front wheels spin to make it flip constantly. Used to love it. Ahh the good old days of being 8 years old.

Leicester_Loyal Posted 15 October 2010 Posted 15 October 2010 My mate bought a mini remote controlled helicopter for around £5 off Ebay. Anyone seen anything like this?
Mee Posted 15 October 2010 Posted 15 October 2010 Had one of these when i was younger. Got it for Christmas. And it popped on boxing day. FML.
dandannieldanok Posted 15 October 2010 Posted 15 October 2010 I had a few over the years, loved them all: My favourite: Porsche race car, was pretty damn quick for a radio-controlled car. A radio controlled Shunt that could smash up any rival toy: And one of these: Had one of these when i was younger. Got it for Christmas. And it popped on boxing day. FML.
Nick Posted 15 October 2010 Posted 15 October 2010 I had a 'Willy's Wheeler' & a 'Sonic Fighter'.... and a 'Kestrel' Glider that took me 2 years to build and two seconds to smash to bits on it's first flight.
Finnegan Posted 15 October 2010 Posted 15 October 2010 There's the bad boy I had. Only it had different art work on it. It might have been Nikko, not Tyco, I can't remember. I swear we had both in our house they were different colours.

potter3 Posted 16 October 2010 Posted 16 October 2010 Surely someone else had one of these Mine was blue/red though, not silver.
ACF Posted 16 October 2010 Posted 16 October 2010 Surely someone else had one of these Mine was blue/red though, not silver. Blue/Red one aswell! I made a ramp for mine, flips and stuff, bouncing off walls, chasing my cat with it, jumping downstairs, great times.
potter3 Posted 17 October 2010 Posted 17 October 2010 Haha, it was pretty much indestructible. The controller wasn't though
