Bert Posted 15 October 2010 Posted 15 October 2010 Bert are you kidding me? Nah mate. I'm not saying it's 100% going to happen, but they're trying to sort a deal out. Also, would Beckham want to come here? Could be very exciting, but don't get your hopes up.
sdb Posted 15 October 2010 Posted 15 October 2010 Yes I think the main hurdle will be when David Beckham says 'Leicester City...no f*%king way'.

He doesn't need the money and where as before, going on loan to Milan was about maintaining match fitness so he could play for England, going on loan to Leicester does nothing for his international career. In short, it makes no sense for him to come to us for a few months, spending time away from his family, exchanging the dream lifestyle in LA for a few months in Leicester.

You suggesting having Leicester on the CV won't improve brand Beckham?
Ford Super Sunday Posted 15 October 2010 Posted 15 October 2010 You suggesting having Leicester on the CV won't improve brand Beckham? Of course it will! He needs to up his exposure in Thailand, connecting himself with the biggest and most supported club in Thailand will achieve that objective, he'll be rolling in it in no time
Guest Bilo Posted 15 October 2010 Posted 15 October 2010 You suggesting having Leicester on the CV won't improve brand Beckham? Could look at it this way. Opportunity to rekindle one of his most successful partnerships in his career. Taking a relatively minor club to global prominence for a short while at least. Still keeping his fitness levels up in a physically demanding league. Ease of commute between Hertfordshire home and Leicester. Not as stupid as it sounds.

Guest Bilo Posted 15 October 2010 Posted 15 October 2010 I'm sure our Thai owners can offer some lucrative image rights opportunities for him in Thailand That too. It's pretty clear there are already massive attempts to open up Leicester City to Thailand but as a second tier club our attractiveness is limited. So what to do? Appoint a world-famous manager who has worked with some of the world's most famous players, bring in one of those players for a couple of months on loan, watch LCFC's profile in the Far East sky-rocket due to that player's near God-like status in that region, give that player a cut of the inevitable shirt sales in Thailand to keep him sweet and let the good times roll.
demon_dog Posted 15 October 2010 Posted 15 October 2010 Oooooh ................errrrrrrrrrrrrr................ What do I tell the missus?
MPH Posted 15 October 2010 Posted 15 October 2010 This story could have some substance to it. I saw Victoria Beckham in Maryland chicken the other day....
Edmund Posted 15 October 2010 Posted 15 October 2010 The guy's nearly 36 and is clearly past his best. There's no doubt that he can deliver a ball but you need much more than that to your game if you want to cut it in the championship. Clearly was a talented player but considering how much money he will command we'd be better spending the money on Whittingham who'd be a snippet of the price of Becks. On the other hand we'd start shifting shirts outside Leicester. Brilliant.

1964FOX Posted 15 October 2010 Posted 15 October 2010 I thnk we should be asking would Vctoria want him at Leicester, it would mean she could come back to england to live. Lets face it she wears the trousers in the relationship so let's hope she's home sick.

Edmund Posted 15 October 2010 Posted 15 October 2010 david beckham your complaining ? were in the championship but still i think hell never ever come You have to ask yourself what each signing brings to the squad. The only thing I can see Beckham bringing is off the field publicity i.e. great marketing. On the pitch all I see is injuries and a player with a cracking dead ball but also a couple of yards off the pace. I'd rather have Whittingham to be honest.
Tubes Posted 15 October 2010 Posted 15 October 2010 Didnt he recently give West Ham the middle finger though?

Remember who our owners are and their main reason for buying leicester City in the first place....
katieakita Posted 15 October 2010 Posted 15 October 2010 What does he bring? 30,000+ gates every home game and that ability to pass the ball to someone wearing the same colour shirt, can't see him coming though ATB Paul
