Disco Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 How long do you think it will be before our new owners install a giant scoreboard ?
Wymsey Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 How long do you think it will be before our new owners install a giant scoreboard ? Where?
Disco Posted 20 October 2010 Author Posted 20 October 2010 On top of each end of the roof, above the old scoreboard. There's enough structure to support itself up there !!!
Wymsey Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 Health and Safety issue would be a problem........
davieG Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 Never - hopefully. What are they other than a glorified advertising hoarding.
Guest BlueBrett Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 Don't need one. I've never been at a football match and suddenly forgotten the score. If you can't keep track of at least that much and you aren't with anybody who can have a quiet word to enlighten you then what are you doing in a football stadium in the first place?
stripeyfox Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 Wouldn't want a video screen; I think they are a distraction. However, our scoreboard is pretty shit considering it is a new build stadium.
James. Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 What are they other than a glorified advertising hoarding. A scoreboard.
davieG Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 A scoreboard. Touché. But we've got two of those so I'm guessing this is supposed to be something extra - advertising. I can live without that.
Lillehamring Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 even some of the smaller grounds in norway have large screens. just no supporters.
MrSpaM Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 They are good for showing goals and highlights at half time, can't see it happening though
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 I'm just glad the one at the kop end actually works fully after going about 6 months without it woking at all.
the_foxes_till_i_die Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 Another thread that really doesn't need to be made. We dont wanna be like scum cov!!
Viper7513 Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 Well on another note, how about LCD advertising pitch side. Surely that would be another money maker they are considering for advertising revenue.
Guest Bilo Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 Used to like them until Coventry away last year when their stadium announcer asked everyone to look up at the megascreen. Advertising Ricoh products, the Cassidy Group and showing a handful of scrambled Cov goals at a half-empty Ricoh Arena. I cringed for the Cov fans so god knows what it was like for them. I wouldn't be averse to a colour scoreboard but a screen would be overkill to be honest.
h1210 Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 Never - hopefully. What are they other than a glorified advertising hoarding. Really couldn't imagine the new owners wanting anything like that

Houdini Logic Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 Well on another note, how about LCD advertising pitch side. Surely that would be another money maker they are considering for advertising revenue. This sounds good
Shrenchel Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 Well on another note, how about LCD advertising pitch side. Surely that would be another money maker they are considering for advertising revenue. Until our games are regularly getting broadcast anywhere apart from Thai telly and youtube then it's just pissing money away. Those things cost millions to install.
samjohnson Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 If it's anything like the oversized advertising board at Leeds, Cov, Hull, Wembley, etc, I should hope we never get one like it... But I do like the idea of a colour scoreboard, rather like the one at QPR's Loftus Rd.
Alexikokopops Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 Never - hopefully. What are they other than a glorified advertising hoarding. An ability to see a replay of a goal if you've accidentally missed the crucial bit? I say that because I manage to miss the majority of goals at every game I go to see, usually because I'm chatting shit with the person next to me.
