Darling of the Walkers!

According to soccerbase

164 Leicester league appearances (including subs) - 51 goals

take away league one stats 46 league apps - 27 goals

championship record 118 appearances - 24 goals - 1 in 5 - FACT

Owwww, that is a painful stat.

How very dare you

Are you comparing seriously Fryatt to Englands's second all time leading goalscorer who played in the top flight in England and Spain?

You are in need of help when it comes to rating football players

Where does it say I was comparing the two?

Lineker used to frustrate the hell out of me for the amount of chances he missed, considering he played in a Leicester side that created a lot of chances.

Shame he "Kermo'd" that penalty at Wembley, otherwise he would have been England's joint leading scorer

Darling of the Walkers? I can't see another player who divides opinion as much. It's not 100% hero worship, some rate him, some don't, but he's hardly got every fan on his side.

He's our best striker. FACT. Look at the stats, his striking rate is better than Howard or Waghorn at City.

Considering we're a side floating around the lower reaches of the Championship, he's the typical standard you expect but some expect us to surround pluck players from nowhere who turn into gold.

Championship records

Waghorn 52 Leicester appearances - 14 goals - 1 in 3.7

Fryatt - see above - 1 in 5

Howard - 68 appearances - 12 goals - 1 in 5.5

So despite the constant berating Howard gets for never scoring, he DOES have a similar championship record to Fryatt and does set up more chances for other players

NOTE: I didn't state Championship. I just stated at City.

Much in the same vein that we could take Waghorn's Premiership appearances as a scale that he'll never been a Prem striker. We could also counter act and scale appearances down into starts/sub apps and eventually minutes which would be far accurate consider Fryatt's wilderness spells at the club.

You say about the assists but Fryatt was actually our equal top assists according to the Football League last season.

Is it possible to ignore topics as well as posters? If not we should really look into it

Best goals per shot ratio average out of our strikers

Best shots on target to off target ratio

Best Goals to start ratio

Top Goalscorer last season [despite missing a large chunk of the season]

Top Goalscorer the season before

If you seriously believe Waghorn is any better, or Howard will score more goals then you are seriously deluded.

Fryatt is our best striker, and for some reason gets slagged off whenever he plays a game without scoring, yet the same people worship the ground Waghorn walks on, despite 1 goal in 9 (2 in nine if you are very generous)

The thread was not written to blame Fryatt for last night’s defeat or any other defeat, I think it is laughable when people phone into radio Leicester and write on these boards what a great player he is, when infact he isn’t that good at all. Again to go back to watching him his body language, his attitude and effort he puts in simply is not acceptable. Fryatt like has his moments and in League one his record cannot be faulted, he scored many goals and had a great season. As some posted he has been shite for 9 managers with the exception of Pearson who could get the best out of him. Something with Fryatt has gone off the rails, when you see him play he is like a lost soul. Many people on these boards make excuses for him blaming managers, blaming systems he plays in. For the fact Systems he would learn these on the training ground, and bear in mind he is paid a lot of money for the profession he trades in. When Steve Howard plays up front its committed its blood and thunder and he runs round like a bull in a china shop and wants to win, I don’t see any effort from Fryatt suggesting he is that interested, against QPR he was dire, and many other games, I single out QPR cause watching him from the West Stand closely second half he was simply playing to make the numbers up, then low and behold some stupid woman calls radio Leicester saying how great he was. Waghorn, plays mostly out on the wing, and is not always the preferred striker the position he wants to play, but giving Waghorn his due he like Howard will put in the graft. I am all for Fryatt playing next 10 games and hang him out to dry, cause that lad simply does not want to be here, and many people need to see that. No Leicester City player walks on water, and if they do and are put up on pedestals then it is Mr Fryatt who is, and such utter crap is written how good he is. If Sven Goran Ericksson was to leave Fryatt out, I can see many messages on here slating Sven for leaving the Darling of the Walkers out. Funny when you go to matches and in the pubs and gantrys at Half time you don’t hear many people say Fryatt is any good. If Fryatt is as good as many say then, he should be stepping up to the plate and putting in the effort, if he was scoring and working hard then we would have no need to publically question him, as it is unfortunately he isn’t putting the work in and simply does not want to be here, and yes we can slate 20 players this season but they don’t get hero worship. Fryatts glorys are the pasts, we need the present day and consistency, and yes Lineker had his critics but Lineker and Fryatt are worlds apart as players, and personalitys.

Theres a lot of extream opinions on here which, for me, are all inaccurate.

THe boy can finish. The ball can stick to his feet like glue. He can take players on. He can pick a pass.

The key work here is 'can'. He has the ability as we have seen at championship and league one level but he doesnt always produce the goods. Its clear to see he is lacking confidence after his jaw break, I just hope it improves!

You've admitted that you didn't go last night, how do you know what his body language was like?

Fryatt is a good player! He's not Messi but he does get goals. He just needs a bit of confidence, game time and service. The service was shite on Saturday - he is never going to be a lone striker.

Bet if he was playing up with Howard he would get goals, I would say prove the doubters wrong but obviously he'll never do that no matter how many goals he gets, people would still find a reason to say he's shit and we're better off without him

Service is provided when you bother your arse and make yourself available to team mates. Hiding behind or inbetween defenders means 9 other outfield players have no out ball. It's selfish.

I bet he loves it when he reads these boards.(which i know he does).

Have faith peoples.

Hopefully he will post then and explain why he has been so disrespectful to our club this season with the 'performances' he has seen fit to produce this season.

 all round the day you leave Matty :scarf:

You're entitled to your opinion mate, I just don't understand why you're so fanatical about it.
