Finnegan Posted 3 November 2010 Posted 3 November 2010 His best position clearly isn't LB. The Cashley comparison is tarded. Imagine them both on the left. Christ.
potter3 Posted 3 November 2010 Posted 3 November 2010 How many assists has Cole made then? Is he injured as i look away in disgust from Chelsea when anything from them is shown on tv He's made more than Bale this season, from left back in comparison to left wing..
Wymsey Posted 3 November 2010 Posted 3 November 2010 He's made more than Bale this season, from left back in comparison to left wing.. They are both left backs (as well Bale being left wing and A.Cole not)
potter3 Posted 3 November 2010 Posted 3 November 2010 They are both left backs (as well Bale being left wing and A.Cole not) He's not been playing left back.
Wymsey Posted 3 November 2010 Posted 3 November 2010 He's not being playing left back. Sorry i misunderstood your point mate Forgot It was Ekotto playing left back.
Dickie Greenleaf Posted 3 November 2010 Posted 3 November 2010 Bale is not a left back any more. Sol Campbell started his career as a striker. Are you going start scrutinizing his goal tally?
potter3 Posted 3 November 2010 Posted 3 November 2010 Playing at left wing has been one of the major reasons for his form of late.
Wymsey Posted 3 November 2010 Posted 3 November 2010 Playing at left wing has been one of the major reasons for his form of late. What baffled me was when Inter Milan attacked, Bale was moving towards the left back position for Tottenham?....
Samilktray Posted 3 November 2010 Posted 3 November 2010 Bale is not a left back any more. Sol Campbell started his career as a striker. Are you going start scrutinizing his goal tally? It could be better.
ousefox Posted 3 November 2010 Posted 3 November 2010 Didn't he have some embarassing record of spurs never winning when he started games at one point or am i making that up?
Guest NGoloMode Posted 3 November 2010 Posted 3 November 2010 Didn't he have some embarassing record of spurs never winning when he started games at one point or am i making that up? 20 something games without a win as a left back.
Mee Posted 3 November 2010 Posted 3 November 2010 Can see a lot of me in him. Great player. The monkey-looking face?
Tommeh Posted 3 November 2010 Posted 3 November 2010 The monkey-looking face? No. Footballing ability.
MPH Posted 3 November 2010 Author Posted 3 November 2010 having just caught his hat-trick against Inter in the first leg, i can definately say those finishes were sublime for someone only recently converted from LB. But he does NOT have the light nimble footedness ( is that even a word!?) of the Messi's and Ronaldo's of this world. he still looks like a bull charging forward. However he is still young and has an amazing opportunity to go all the way to the top... what a talent. Jealous the welsh have produced another quality winger? ABSO-BLOODY-LUTELY

ABSO-BLOODY-LUTELY i'd have agreed with you before last night, but he showed some fantastic footwork on several occasions last night. No he's not Messi or Ronaldo, they're on another planet imo, but Bale is a lot closer than i thought on last nights showing, and i rated him bloody high before.
Mee Posted 3 November 2010 Posted 3 November 2010 No. Footballing ability. . He had a great game yesterday, he just has a pure footballing brain. For some reason i can see him at Man United.

ABSO-BLOODY-LUTELY Gareth Bale has a side step that competes with Shane Williams to be honest. He's by no means a bull in a China shop. In fact, it's only recently I've seen this charge-and-run style. But it's effective, so what does it matter? I'd far rather see that than an early C. Ronaldo's ten million step overs with no end product.
broughtonblue Posted 3 November 2010 Posted 3 November 2010 Not long before someone says 'we should buy him', shit! I've just done it!
Samilktray Posted 3 November 2010 Posted 3 November 2010 I cant believe the amount of people I've heard comparing him to Ronaldo and Messi on and off Foxestalk. Jumping the gun a bit.
