Admittedly, my watching of prem Games has slipped a bit since coming to the states but last thing i knew he was struggling to get into the Tottenham side and now he is ripping Inter Milan to shreds.

Wasnt it in April last year we were 'supposedly' tracking him?

I think the main reason is from going from left back to left wing. Changed his game completely.

He's going to get over hyped and fail to live up to expectations after these 2 games against Inter.

Great player don't get me wrong but 5live where discussing if he was the best play in the world or not.. ridiculous. Imagine if he was actually English!

Probably something to do with the fact Inter have one of the meaner defences in football worlwide and the fact he made them look painfully amateur. It's not like he's just had a few games against S****horpe to make him look better than he is.

Best player in the world is probably ridiculous but I'd challenge you to name me a better winger in the Premiership right now. Or even in any top, European league.

Watching him over 180 minutes against Inter was reminiscent of watching C. Ron at his best. I'll inevitably be called biased but on his form this season he really has been phenomenal.

And as for his form, yes, Redknap converted him into a winger from full-back where he lacked the discipline and concentration to be a top class defender.

Malouda and Nani have been better in the Permier League IMO.

More noticeable, perhaps, but playing for much better sides.

Can you really imagine either of those two doing to Inter what Bale did? Or scoring those goals? I rate Nani, probably more than a lot of people do. But he's not that good.

Spot on. The kid is a bit special.

Playing very well and looking unstoppable at the minute, but i'd rather have messi or ronaldo on the left wing if I had the choice.

Yeah exactly. People need to calm down with the best in the world stuff but he is playing very well.

He looked unstoppable last night, and this is no mug defence he's up against.

As long as he doesn't let the hype go to his head he'll be fine for a number of years yet.

Hope he does well, be good to see a home grown player become truly world class. As has already been said, he just needs to keep his head down and keep plugging. The worst he can do is let it all go to his head.

At the San Siro, if it had only been 2-0 Bale wouldnt have scored that hatrick.

Good player, who's in blinding form at the moment, but best in the world? nah

How many assists has Cole made then? Is he injured as i look away in disgust from Chelsea when anything from them is shown on tv

Pretty sure, Inter would have mowed him down and taken the yellow card but given the scoreline, they coulnd't care.

However, Lucio and Maicon couldn't get near him on two of the goal last season to even tackle him.

Impressive, I hope he keeps it up.
