MPH Posted 3 November 2010 Posted 3 November 2010 Admittedly, my watching of prem Games has slipped a bit since coming to the states but last thing i knew he was struggling to get into the Tottenham side and now he is ripping Inter Milan to shreds. Wasnt it in April last year we were 'supposedly' tracking him?

He's going to get over hyped and fail to live up to expectations after these 2 games against Inter. Great player don't get me wrong but 5live where discussing if he was the best play in the world or not.. ridiculous. Imagine if he was actually English!
Finnegan Posted 3 November 2010 Posted 3 November 2010 Probably something to do with the fact Inter have one of the meaner defences in football worlwide and the fact he made them look painfully amateur. It's not like he's just had a few games against S****horpe to make him look better than he is. Best player in the world is probably ridiculous but I'd challenge you to name me a better winger in the Premiership right now. Or even in any top, European league. Watching him over 180 minutes against Inter was reminiscent of watching C. Ron at his best. I'll inevitably be called biased but on his form this season he really has been phenomenal. And as for his form, yes, Redknap converted him into a winger from full-back where he lacked the discipline and concentration to be a top class defender.

Pretty sure, Inter would have mowed him down and taken the yellow card but given the scoreline, they coulnd't care. However, Lucio and Maicon couldn't get near him on two of the goal last season to even tackle him. Impressive, I hope he keeps it up.
