Whole back 4 are loan players

Is it?

I'd love a season in the prem, but the best season we've had lately was League One.

I actually think last season was as enjoyable but agree with your sentiments.

Sven is doing a good job so far but on a side note I think we've already sold our soul.

The whole situation since Pearson has left has made me feel out of touch with my club. Getting rid of him in the first place, a good team doing badly, popular players either playing crap or being left out or both, the renaming of the stadium, the attitude of the fans since the new owners and the money came in, Mandaric being a bastard, The Fosse boys saga, etc.

It's not all about winning - I don't feel appreciated by the club at all anymore. What's the point in winning if you don't care as much, if you don't take it personally, if you don't feel involved? I don't enjoy it as much now. Man Utd win all the while but can any of their fans ever feel any rapport with the players? I'm just glad we don't have anyone like Rooney at the moment.

I'm not saying the players ever love the club but I felt appreciated by them last year and also that they really wanted to be here. There seems to be less of that feeling this season and I don't really know how to explain it.

Again i share the sentiment but dont know seriously what can be done to change things...it's the way of modern football. many Man City fans have come out and said very similar things....the game is being taken away from your average supporter and whilst I'd love to know how to stop it, unless you start up an FC City of Leicester then we are heading in the same direction

I too, am worried about suddenly changing the WHOLE back four...

I feel sick for Hobbs, who last year won basically all the acolades possible, player of the year, a possible future international player, and this season he has one dodgy game (playing with different pairings every single game) and he suddenly will struggle to get a match!

It all seems wrong to me...

I know what you mean, but that's the harsh world of football. Hobbs can only learn from a player like Davies and I'm sure he won't let his head drop and he will look to improve his game to get back in the side.

WHAT DO YOU WANT SVEN TO DO? PLAY SHIT PLAYERS UNTIL JANUARY? ALL HE CAN DO IS LOAN PLAYERS UNTIL THEN.

Jack Hobbs is NOT a shit player! he is one of the best defenders in the league! and has been dropped because his game has been out because his pairing has been changed EVERY SINGLE game!! How can he be expected to play like that??

No. He has been dropped because some of his performances have been at best below championship standard and Sven believes that Vitor & Davies are better than him. If the Tunch ever gets back he will be even further behind in the pecking order.

He is still very young though and should use this time to regain confidence and form because I seriously doubt that Davies will be here after January (if not before) and Vitor will not sign for us permanently. With new money coming in from the Thais he needs to up his game to the performances we saw last season and the latter half of the Div 3 campaign.

He is no where near good enough for the Prem yet and has a lot of improving to do. I actually feel he is one of the few of the old guard capable of upping his game to the standard required but he is certainly not showing that at the moment. After all this is where the club is aiming to be sooner rather than later.

Couldn't agree more. If he perserveres, learns from Davies and keeps up the hard work, he will be able to gain his place back again. There are a few topics around commenting on the number of loanees we have, and presumably we are not going to sign them all permanently....!

Isn't there an agreement with Benfica that when Vitor's loan period expires, we cannot buy him?

I would, Hobbs, like Morrison and a few other younger players need to be playing with likes of Curtis Davies, not watching him from the stands.

Vitor is not a Leicester player, and by the sounds of it never will be. Benfica value him at 15 million, and from what I'm reading don't want to sell him. The only chance of signing him would probably have been with Sousa. Davies is not valued by Villa and we may be able to sign him in January, but if he does go we will suddenly be throwing Hobbs back in the team low on confidence and match sharpness and a worse player then before.

It is great that we are winning games and keeping clean sheets, we did need a new right back and, as much as I love Bruno, a young pacey left back has made a world of difference. However looking to the future it seems that buying a whole new back four at the expense of our younger players will most likely result in Hobbs and Morrison stagnating and being shipped off to the lower leagues as has happened to many of our promising young players in recent years. Whilst the rest of the academy don't even get a look in. I hope I'm wrong.

I completely understand that point of view.

Unfortunately for Sven, the owners have given him a target and considering the way the 2 have been playing, picking Vitor is a bit of a no brainer at the moment. In a roundabout way, Hobbs might benefit from a spell knuckling down to some hard work in training (he himself has spoken of his own lack of fitness) before coming back a better player than what we have seen so far this season.

I still think Hobbs has a big future here, although, I do fear somewhat for Morrison.

Edit: Re the point about signing Vitor. It won't happen, although, I don't think Sousa not being here would affect that considering the links Sven has to Benfica.

I also completely understand this point of view and I would also love to see Hobbs get back into the team and play at the heart of our defence for many years.

However as Martyn says you can't really not play Davies and Vitor at the moment. They are simply playing much better than Hobbs and both appear to have Premiership potential. Whereas Hobbs may have Premiership potential, he is not showing it at this current time - he's not been himself in quite a few games. In the interests of results Vitor and Davies have earned their right to play at the moment and it is a no-brainer.

Loan or not, if you have players in the squad and they are performing better than another player, they have to be picked. What kind of message would it send out to the squad if Davies was left on the bench and Hobbs was picked when he wasn't performing? Vitor we may not be able to get on a permanent but he is here for the whole season.

Like I say, I'm a big fan of Hobbs and he could go on to be a club legend but it's a footballing decision to leave him out at this current time. He will get another chance though I have no doubt about it, I wouldn't worry about him being sold.

Hobbs is a good player. However keeping him happy and looking out for his own personal development is not more important than helping leicester get to the premier league.

No player is more important than the club and the fans.
